Heavy handed sexuality

I was intrigued with the SciFi world building right down to slang.
However the plot was uncomfortable. This story is heavy handed on the lack of consent with the virgin hero being seduced by pheromones and his brother raped, repeatedly.
While there were some high points, it ends up being all manipulated by the two antagonists. What a let down.

I enjoyed this story of the Antonello brothers. The characters in this book were well done and drew me in. I found that Kayelle Allen is very good at character and dialogue, something I appreciate as a reader.
This is a sci-fi romance, but it is not explicit in description. However, there are references to slavery, prostitution and rape. All of it fits in with the world she has created full of half-breeds not entirely human and those who feel entitled to use them for their own purposes. At the h

*** A free copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. ***

Note to readers: This edition is an revised and updated version of the original book, minus the erotica.

At the Mercy of Her Pleasure is a story filled with vice and a political empire whose leader, the Conqueror, has no scruples about its application for her own benefit. Add to the mix slavery, kidnapping, blackmail, behaviour enhancing/suppressing drugs and NarrAy Jorlan, one very tempting, genetically

Wow this book surprised me! At first, I had to read over the description of the future names for things. But once I got past the first few pages and began to understand, I was pulled into the story. Sci-fi politics along with romance, and a very surprise ending. The Antonello brothers are brought up in separate life styles. Each of them is willing to give up their own life for the other, but little do they know they are but pawns on a chess board. I loved the devious mind of Saint-Cyr. He plays ...more

The first thing you need to know about "At The Mercy Of Her Pleasure" by Kayelle Allen is the fact that it's a het book. Porny het book. Of the XXX kind. This book is defined by the fact that it's het and it's about sex. I didn't mind though because that's exactly why I bought it but... And there is a big but, though first things first.

This book is a sci-fi set in a universe dominated by the Conqueror Destoiya. The main hero Senth Antonello is a slave and a member of the (in)famous Thief Guild.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book. The author called the heat level as "sweet with a kick" so I went for it. I am glad I did. The author has created a complex world full of treachery, slavery and political intrigue. Through it all, the main characters survive to find love and freedom. The ending was quite a surprise. I could never figure out if that particular character was a good guy or a bad guy. Now I have to re

I loved the world building of this and the gender role alterations. I found the love scenes to be hot and also sweet. I did think the constant turning of the plot on its head over and over got to be a bit much but I will be reading more from this author because she's clearly a talent.

Kayelle Allen did a tour in the US Navy, where she climbed around airplanes (on the ground, thankfully) fixing black boxes that helped pilots find their way home.
She wrote her first science fiction novel at 18 and to this day, it's hidden under the bed, where she vows it will remain. Gems from it, however, launched several series in her galaxy-wide universe of stories.
From childhood, Kayelle was t
