A very diverse anthology featuring stories about many completely different types of police officers; I found the excerpts from "The Gangs of New York" by Herbert Asbury and "Rogues Gallery" by Thomas Byrnes to be the most interesting because I generally like anything about the late 1800's and early 1900's.

I made it about 50 pages in, and while the stories were interesting, I think the writing style of this book just couldn't get me to finish.

Not really was a book that I thought it was going to be. The stories were well written because they were taken from old articles. I did enjoy some the real early 1900's stories those were real good.

Uneven book of excerpts and short stories. Some chapters were great, some were not. Worth the price for the story about cops scaring Long Island kids who come to Brooklyn to buy drugs.
