WHY. DID. YOU. (view spoiler) FOR WHY CHAD? This would have been at least 4 stars if not for that. I'm so upset. And then have the nerve to hint at spin-offs/sequels?? You clearly got you research of psychopathy from introspection. Honestly, I can't even properly review this one. ...more

Disturbingly brilliant!

If you like noir fiction, this book is black hole noir, like Steven King on an acid trip! Disturbingly captivating. Definitely need to read the first two books in the series first, if only to make sure you can handle this dark side of humanity. There's also a very graphic and twisted supernatural component to this book.

I just couldn't stop reading this story, devoured books 1 and 2, then actually held off a couple of days on reading Book 3 because I knew it was the end of the series and there was no more... It's very dark and twisted, with shocking subject matter and descriptions, but nothing cheesy or gratuitous, it all felt gritty, dark, and real. Chad Huskins obviously did some good, in-depth research on psychopaths, because Spencer Pelletier was very believable and scary, likely because you can be sure tha ...more
