Noah Drake was that guy--the one always on the lookout for his next adrenaline high, so it was no surprise when he took off across the world, seeking adventure as a travel writer. But one thing he could never escape was Piper Bellini, the girl who got away--the girl he let get away, a fact he's never let himself forget. When he returns to Echo Lake to see if there's any ch ...more

4 - "I think maybe I missed you a little." Stars!

Maggie McGinnis + Christmas = Outstanding novella!

Its not a surprise that I enjoyed Snowflake Wishes as I have read and loved every other book that the author has so far released. Being the beginning of the Echo Lake series this was a great second chance love re-connection built around giving the reader a bit of an overview of the town and its residents.

”You’re a hard woman to get over… Turns out, I kind of suck at it.”

I really enjoyed this one. There is just something about a second chance romance that really gets to me. I think that this kind of story actually can work really well in a novella or short story format largely because there is no need for the dreaded insta-love since the pair already know each other. I thought this story was wonderfully told with a lot of depth and wonderful characters. I have to admit that when I finished the story I had a b

I really like this author and have been impressed with her work so far, so I was pleased to see this holiday themed novella come up on Netgalley.

However, one thing I should mention is that despite the obvious Christmas related book cover, the holidays are rarely mentioned, so it's kind of a winter themed romance, but no matter what this very sentimental tale that will melt your heart in the end.

Piper and Noah were once an item, but when the relationship grew to the commitment stage, Piper was

Some need the adrenaline rush of travel and danger and some prefer the safety of home, familiar surroundings and people who have known you all your life. Noah was a wanderer, Piper was an Echo Lake girl, through and through, in spite of the whining of her biological clock and those darned eggs. Well, she wasn’t too keen on the annual Christmas dance either, where all of the town’s singles were forced to dance with each other. The idea being, they may just end up married!

7 years ago, Piper walked away from Noah as he lay in a hospital bed. Noah was a thrill seeker, he lived his life for adventure always putting himself in dangerous situations and Piper loved him too much to sit by and watch him get hurt. She couldn't put herself through that so she walked away and never got over him. Piper was the love of Noah's life and he knew when she walked away that he would never get over her. 7 years later, Noah takes a chance and comes back to Echo Lake, using a business ...more

This is a super cute Christmas novella. It's perfect for anyone who likes feel-good Hallmark like stories. Piper is not looking forward to the annual Christmas dance at Echo Lake. There've been 49 weddings that have been celebrated since the dance was first introduced and she doesn't plan to be # 50. Though her aunt and cousin may think otherwise.

Piper's plans for the night are ruined when her aunt gives her the perfect dress to wear for the dance. Guilt gets the better of her and so there goes
This novel opens the Echo lake's series.

Basically is a second chance novel about two persons with differents visions what they want. Noah likes wild life and Pipper is reserved but in the past they have a relationship that is over but they see each other again and snows falls again.

The conflict is minimum just how can they adapt their lives to live together.

Loved Snowflake Wishes!

This was such a heartwarming and sweet second chance love story.

Loved Noah and Piper, they were both likable, honest and passionate people who get a second chance to reconnect with their one true love.
I was drawn in from the first chapter, I couldn't put this down.

For a novella I was pleasantly surprised how satisfied I was when I was finished.
I'm a fan of Maggie McGinnis writing and once again she's given us a beautiful and heartwarming read.

Second chance romance 7 yrs separation, which is too long for me for h still to be single( though it appears she dated). From H's thoughts he left h bcos h was ready for commitment and he wasn't. Also he is back now only to help a friend who lives in same small town and not to see the h, he fully expects her to be married with kids. H did move on from h and says he started thinking of her again only from three weeks back, when he knew he was coming here.

I know it's kinda early to be reading Christmas stories, but it's Maggie McGinnis!!!

This is the beginning of the Echo Lake series and it was a fanfrikkintastically sweet, second chance story :) Every page had me smiling!

It's a perfect read for all romance fans and a great start to anyone's holiday reads!

This story takes place around a cozy little town full of holiday traditions including a singles dance. Everyone knows everyone so if a gal hasn't found someone to marry by the time she's in her thirties, he may not be there. This is the situation Piper is in because she has never been able to move past what she had with Noah.

For seven years, Noah has continued his dangerous and adventurous lifestyle, which ended his relationship with the only woman he's ever loved. This win

In Snowflake Wishes by Maggie McGinnis, Noah and Piper have a history. Way back then Piper broke things off between them before he could break her heart. She couldn't live with his life style choices, and he would never settle in Echo Lake. They both wanted much different things out of life then, no matter how they felt about each other. But neither has ever fully gotten over the other, or found anyone else who came close to matching the feelings Piper and Noah evoked in each other. Now Noah as ...more

Are you in the mood for a feel good seasonal novella? Then look no further than Snowflake Wishes by Maggie McGinnis. This is a fun, sometimes serious read, encompassed by the sights, sounds and smells of tons of fluffy snow. Ms. McGinnis is a new to me author, and I definitely plan on reading more of her work.

The Snowflake Ball in the small town of Echo Lake Vermont is big doings, especially for all the single people. This year Piper Bellini's aunt and surrogate mother, wants to ensure that Pipe

Probably the sweetest and exciting second chance Christmas Romance I have read this year. Yet another novella that can be read just fines as a stand-alone. Noah is a travel writer always on the lookout for his next adrenaline high, he takes people out and shows them thrills and adventure. Piper is a homebody who doesn't even like roller coasters, but somehow these two managed to fall in love. But after onto many trips to the hospital Piper is afraid o

Loved this! An amazingly sweet love story that is the start of what promises to be a fantastic new series set in Echo Lake, VT. In this second chance story we meet Noah Drake and Piper Bellini. Noah is an intense adrenaline junkie and is always looking for his next great adventure. Piper Bellini is the one woman he could never forget. Piper has suffered too much loss in her life to accept Noah's wild lifestyle so they went their separate ways. Now he's back in Echo Lake and it's as if the years ...more

On Ruby’s Nice List~ This was a sweet but sexy Christmas story that should be the next Hallmark movie. This story had many plots points with characters that had a lot of depth to them. That is hard to do with a short story but Maggie McGinnis mastered it here.

Sweet little holiday story about two people finding each other again. I enjoyed it.

Snowflake Wishes is a good holiday novel. Piper and Noah had a history as a couple seven years ago. However, Piper walked away from it because Noah spent his days going from one risky outdoor adventure to another, and she never knew whether Noah was going to come out of the adventure alive. Piper preferred a more stable life with someone who did not take quite so many chances. When Noah returns to Echo Lake, he and Piper get together once again, and their chemistry rekindles their relationship. ...more

This is a quick short story set in Echo Lake. Noah Drake comes back for a visit after being away for seven years. He is a travel writer and adventurer. Piper Bellini has still not got over him leaving seven years ago even though she told him to leave because she could not see him hurt like he was at the time. Now all of these years later they end up spending a day together shopping for his family and talking. After they get snowed in the next day on their way back to Echo Lake she comes to face ...more
I love breaking into a new series, or a new to me author, and finding myself pleasantly surprised. In Snowflake wishes, a rather familiar second chance at romance trope forms the base on which this novella delivers on all counts.

Piper is happiest close to home (and on the ground), and living in the small town of Echo Lake fits her need for the familiar and secure. Years ago she and Noah had a relationship, but he was always chasing the next big adventure, and she couldn’t live with the uncertai

Eventually we outgrow the need for dangerous situations as a way of life. Al least Noah eventually did. He’d needed the adrenaline rush and Piper needed to know he was safe. Two people who loved each other but simply could not make their different lifestyles and reactions to Noah’s need for dangerous situations merge with each other. Eventually Piper walked away. There was no simple about it, it was painful to do but for her own sanity she could not watch the ma

Some of us need excitement the thrill of the rush and others are homebodies who like the closeness of friends and family around us. This is a story about second chances finding a happy medium where two people who love each other can hopefully work through their difference and find a HEA. True these are BIG differences where one could find death leaving the other to carry on. It was a heartwarming read watching these two people who love each other so much trying to work through the problems only ...more

Snowflake Wishes is a prequel novella in the Echo Lake series from bestselling author Maggie McGinnis, with each of the stories set in a small town called Echo Lake in the state of Vermont. It'll take less than an hour to read this second chance romance but it sure as heck doesn't read like a quickie because there all the details regarding what went wrong between main characters Noah Drake and Piper Bellini seven years ago and how they try to
I originally picked this book up because I liked the cover. I’m not normally a fan of the minimalist object covers, but this one really worked for me. Holiday warm and fuzzy memories maybe? Maybe it was that I had author recognition, since this is the second Christmas book I have by the author. I don’t know, either way, I am glad that I took a look at it.

This is a second chance at love holiday romance. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a sweet/clean romance, but it wasn’t until well after the fa

Sometimes novellas are just too quick to really get attached to characters or to care what’s happening to them. This novella was not one of those. It was nearly perfect in that it was a complete story. We got to know Piper and Noah, I cared about their past and their future. I immediately felt the need to root for their happily ever after. This was a beautifully written second chance romance. I felt the pain and the heartache that both Piper and Noah felt even all these years

Firstly thank you to St Martin’s Press for approving me for a review copy of this title. I’ve read one other book of Maggie’s so far, although I have more on my TBR (shocker), and I really enjoyed her writing. When I saw this Christmas shorty I knew I would want to read it. I think it’s perfect for fans of Paige Toon too.

I LOVED Noah. I mean really what is there not to love - he’s handsome, he’s fit and adventurous and he’s the one that got away. Or rather he’s the one that went away.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/St. Martin's Press for an honest review. "Snowflake Wishes" by Maggie McGinnis is a cute sweet novella. The story takes place in a little town during the winter holidays with lots of snowflakes. This is the story of Piper and Noah. Noah likes adventures that can be dangerous. The Snowflake Ball happens every year in Echo Lake, Vermont, and it pairs the single women and men in a dance hoping that it inspires a happy marries. With 49 happy marriages already in the books, this year the town is looking for number 50. Piper’s Aunt B entered her name on to the dance tree multiple times, much to Piper’s dismay. I absolutely loved this!! I'm a sucker for second chance at love stories, and I also love the winter time setting. The characters are excellent, and I loved their back story with each other; they are so adorable with each other, and I thought the story felt complete for how short this book is. Noah needs adventure and Piper needs stability, so that's where their problems originate, this story starts with Noah coming back to Echo Lake for just a visit, and even though it's been 7 years Noah and P ...more

Snowflake Wishes by Maggie McGinnis reminded me so much of the Tim McGraw song “Every Where.” This is one of my favorite McGraw songs so I was doubly pleased with how Ms. McGinnis gave Noah and Piper the song’s history.

Piper and Noah had gone their own way since they had different plans and goals for their lives. I enjoyed how they reconnect after dealing with insecurities and the past amidst the Christmas Season. This compelling read is both serious and fun as the emotional aspects of their pa
