Meh. I'd read at least one of these stories in a different anthology, and I wasn't particularly thrilled with it there, either. Color me dealing with the holiday blues, after the loss of someone who inspired me to write -- but I don't think any of these stories would have impressed her, either.

They're not terrible. They just didn't work for me. Your mileage may vary.

There are some really fun stories in this collection. My favorites are "Masks" by Jennifer Campbell-Hicks, a story of courtly intrigue in space, and "The Affairs of Dragons" by Julie Frost, a story about transporting eggs between a bickering space dragon couple. All of these stories will transport you to other worlds and leave you with the sensation that the future may be a pretty cool place after all.
