Shae and Allen are a happy and deeply in love couple. Having been together for 8 years, there life is good.
Shae teaching second grade and Allen owning and operating their vineyard with great success. The spend their time enjoying life and each other.

Their love is fun and they enjoy everything about each other.
As their 1 year wedding anniversary approaches, Allen has the entire day planned out. Passionate morning of love, walk in the vineyard, skydiving like they did so long ago, that both loved.
Never did Shae think her life would change in the worst way possible, as she watched her Allen, the man of her life and dreams, fall to his death.

Such a sad story this first book turned out to be. I cannot imagine a devastation like Shae went through losing her very best friend, she was so in love with and so inseparable. Then to have the in laws from Hell, and the abuse she put up with from that entire family. Just heartbreaking. Shae was lucky to have Jasper as her rock and to help her pick up the pieces and put her life back together again.

Overall Opinion: This is the beginning of a new trilogy, and I enjoyed it. I found myself making predictions and waiting to see how things shaped up, but it continuously kept me on my toes. I can't wait to see where the story goes.
Storyline: I won't go into major detail in this, but just the basics...this is Shae's story. She is married to Allen and they live on his vineyard and she is a 2nd grade teacher. They have been married a year, but together for 8. Right before their anniversary, Allen surprised Shae with a suggestion to start a family. She agrees because as of late they have been in a funk and she's been trying to think of ways to get out of it. There are some major changes that occur for Shae, and through it all to has been Allen's best friend, Jasper. That's all I'll say for now...
POV: This was told in Shae's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I finished this really quick, so that tells me that it flowed nicely.
H rating:

Sadness level: Moderate/low. I could see how someone might shed a few tears, but I personally didn't.

I throughly enjoyed this author's "Blindfold" series, even if the end wrapped up a little to easily and neatly. This, however, is dime store romance... minus about nine pennies!

Not Feeling The Emotions I Should Be
I hate book character deaths, but I found myself really not giving a shit with this book:/ I didn't ever feel like I knew him through his limited screen time nor her memories of him, and what little I did know wasn't impressive.
I love epic romances, but found myself hardly believing the female MC shared one with her husband. Im supposed to be buying into a Cinderella love story here, and that f'ing slipper just ain't fitting!
Could there possibly be a less sexy character than the MC's husband, Allen?

So, yeah, he was odd and not appealing to me, and then he dies and I'm supposed to be ... What?

She Is A Twit
His family is trying to invalidate any part of her from her husband, even their marriage. So, her immediate answer is to let them have everything but the vineyard. Here's your sign...
Her reaction to his life insurance and trust is not only unbelievable but proves this woman is a twit. She wants to give away his life insurance and hand over his trust to the money hungry family. A multi-million dollar vineyard has one bad season and what does she think she will pay wages, taxes, etc with? Surely not her f'ing school teacher salary. She's a Polyanna idiot.
And, the incessant whining. Omg!!!! Make it stop!!!!
Too Much Forced Implausible Drama
You want a good story? You gotta have good ingredients, and the ingredients here were like loading a pizza with all the stale shit from the pantry.
Good lawd at the forced, nonsensical, implausible drama level here, which includes his family fighting his will w pretty much everything short of flying UFO's, and her pissing and moaning about EVERYTHING under the sun the rest of the time.
Rich f'rs fighting to keep their legacy money wouldn't go about it by making themselves look like complete idiots. They wouldn't leave 100's of messages giving their intended target ammunition for harassment and slander. This entire plot line was completely unbelievable and laughable the way it was written.
She's pissed that anyone thinks she would even consider sleeping with Jasper, her husband's BFF. So, what does she do? She sleeps with him. She says she doesn't really know Jasper all that well. Yet, he is her husband's BFF whom he wills 1mil to? Okay~? She doesn't know him well, but is always the first person she calls and is suddenly the person she acts like is her BFF. Okay~?
Nothing Worked For Me In How This Story Is Told
It's whinny, boring, melodramas without the groundwork being set to make us feel the loss and therefore empathize with the plight.
It's miles and miles of ... 'I woke up, walked around, missed my dead husband, slept, and woke up again.' I'm propping my eyelids open here, folks.
One of my biggest pet peeves is suspense in the form of 'a look crossed his/her face, but I don't have time/thought to question it.' That's a constant in this book. It's not suspense... It's a cop out for being unable to articulate a scene!
Pages upon pages of f'ing sex dreams that served no greater importance than being an imagined sex scene.
I saw the end coming a mile away.
So, yeah, NOTHING worked for me with this story, the characters, nor the writing.

wow now that's good. when I first started reading I thought ok love story. then hell opened up water works started. then my feeling went up down ,up down . This will have your emotions. Such great writing can't wait for more. if I could give a 10 I would.

Dear lord what is it with me and these books. Diving in to my ARC of A Wicked Lie my first impression was this was going to be a polluted love story filled with a cheating husband who leaves his college sweetheart broken beyond repair. WRONG WRONG WRONG. This is one of the complete opposite. However don’t breathe easy yet because once you find out the truth your heart will be shattered into a billion tiny pieces all scattered aimlessly on the floor beneath you. What the hell …. Im going to need serious counseling after this series.
Shae and Allen Lockwood have been in love for eight years. Allen rescued Shae one unsuspecting day while lost on campus. Instead of being an arrogant fool, Allen was the complete opposite. He took Shae under his arms and made certain she was never lost again. From that day forward Shae knew there was no other man like him. Jasper, Allen’s best friend even told her the day Allen met Shae he came back to their place and announced that he had just met the girl he was going to marry. Each step of their lives had been meticulously planned out.
Approaching their one year anniversary of marriage, Allen plans a romantic yet exciting day. Shae felt silly for questioning their love at previous times. Allen was driven in his quest to get what he wanted and secure a future for he and Shae. He worked countless hours making sure the Vineyard was progressing as it should. The next two books in the series are to be released in August and September. Thank the lord its not too long. Look for A Wicked Kiss releasing August 25th and A Wicked Truth releasing September 15th.

Great Read. Totally not what I expected. If you have ever read anything from M.S. Parker once you read this you will totally understand. I love her books, but WOW "A Wicked Lie" is by far my favorite. M S Parker was definitely thinking outside of the box when writing this story. Expect the unexpected, but the unexpected is not what you suspect.. Boy that a tongue twister.

In case you haven't figured it out yet.... I CAN NOT WITH THIS BOOK!!!
I was not expecting this ending at all, who does that! I mean I can understand why, really I can but I just didn't see it coming at all.
I have so many questions! Why on that day do you choose to do it, how could you keep that secret!
Now some non spoilers. So we have Shae and Allen who are the perfect couple all of life is perfect until he dies. Then she has to deal with some in laws that act like she is the worst person in the world calling her everything else besides a whore. Even her brother under the disguise of just trying to protect her calls her all different types of things. Then there is the arson and the dumb ass detectives. All of this while she is trying to get over the sudden death of her husband. It was an emotional roller coaster but that ending! jeez!

Be warned, this story ends on a cliff-hanger and is book one of a three part series, I believe.
This book was not at all what I have come to expect from M.S. Parker. That’s in no way a bad thing; it is awesome when an author can surprise you.
Shae and Allen Lockwood, some would say they led the perfect life, about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary and start a family.
Shae is becoming a little insecure; Allen has been working long hours and not paying as much attention to her as he has in the past. Even when they are out for dinner with his best friend Jasper, a doctor, Shae is concerned. Allen seems more excited to be seeing his best friend than spending time with her. However all that changes when Allen surprises her for their anniversary.
Little knowing that her life is about to explode, Shae happily goes along with Allen’s surprise.
When tragedy strikes, Shae is thrown into an emotional nightmare. The one person she knows she can turn to is Jasper. There is certainly a great deal of angst in this book and I really felt for Shae. There were some erotic scenes and as with all of M.S. Parker books these scenes were sexy and well written.
It is hard to write a review for this book, as I am concerned that I might inadvertently give something away, it really is one of those books that you need to read for yourself. There are so many twists and turns. Just when you think you have it sorted out mentally, the author throws another curve ball and you are left shaking your head.
The next book in the series, A Wicked Kiss released 25th August and I believe the final book A Wicked Truth is releasing 15th September.

This author has yet to fail me !! Different genres , different plots , different types of characters , any and all she has written I have enjoyed. This is a great start to a suspenseful and erotic journey, 3 books for the series and I cannot wait to move on to book 2 !! There is a bit of a cliffy but regardless you will want book 2 because there is so much that could be going on and you will not want to stop !! I read books 1 & 2 in a matter of hours , I was hooked and on the edge of my seat !!
We start off with a normal love story. Allen and Shae meet in college , fall in love , get married and have an amazing relationship. A beautiful house and vineyard to run and Shae also works as a teacher. If they could get away from Allen's family it would be pure bliss. Sadly Shae's family consists of just her brother and of course Allen and the family they are hoping to start. It is nearing their 1 year wedding anniversary and they have hit a little rough patch. Allen is working A LOT and seems a bit distant. Their sex life has suffered a bit and through Shae's eyes you kind of feel there may be something going on ?? Knowing this is a thriller I did think the worst. On their anniversary Allen has these amazing plans and yet it all falls to pieces in front of Shae's eyes. I honestly was so shocked I didn't know what to think. Talk about theories. Now we get to see just what Allen's family is like and it is not pretty. They are ruthless and nasty. I feel so sad for Shae to have to deal with them. We also get to meet her brother and Allen's BFF Jasper !! Sadly I cannot say much without spoiling but there is a chain of events that lead us to a great cliffy ending !! I am hooked until the end and I honestly have no clue where this is going but I do know I like where it ended !!

Loved this book!! It is a who done it erotic thriller with a sexual twist!! Everyone seemed suspicious to me. I didn’t trust anyone in this book, except poor Shea, who was excited to be celebrating her one year wedding anniversary when one minute she was smiling and happy and the next minute her entire world came crumbling down. Her husband Alan died right before her eyes in a sky diving accident.
What ensues after Alan’s death is nothing short of the vultures coming in for the kill. Her husband’s well to do family, horrible people that even he had nothing to do with when he was alive, wanted to take everything away from her, even her house. Coming to her rescue is her lawyer, and the good doctor, best friend to her hubs, Jaspar.
Now Jaspar seems like such a sweet guy taking care of his best friend's widow, but I did not trust him. He seemed too nice and was getting too cozy with Shae. Certain things were revealed to Shae about her husband that she had no idea about, and she was leaning heavily on Jaspar to help her. At the end of this book there is a huge cliff hanger that will leave you screaming at your kindle and sending posts to M.S. Parker wanting to know when the next book will be out. But it’s all good; you will just love this story. M.S. Parker has created the perfect storm, which left me asking, what the hell was that all about?? I loved that this is not the same old, same old erotic love story. Can’t wait for Book 2.

But it’s all good; you will just love this story. M.S. Parker has created the perfect storm, which left me asking, what the hell was that all about?? I loved that this is not the same old, same old erotic love story. Can’t wait for Book 2.

A Wicked Lie in one word is simply amazing.I'm so use to fairytale romances where they live happily ever after. But after reading this incredible story those fairytale romances now brings a new meaning to me. You never know what tomorrow will bring. Allen had loved Shae with everything he had and more beyond that. Shae is left devastated. with nowhere to turn but to Allen's best friend Jaspar. But after everything that has happened over the four months will Shae be devastated yet again finding out that Jaspar knew Allen's secret?

Wow MS Parker has blown me away with this book.
A great read and lots of curse words came from my mouth, and even tears, there is a variety of emotions that will be had.
Shae and Allen are coming up to their first wedding anniversary. With a surprise planned for Shae but it's something she will never forget and now having to deal with the in laws from hell will Shae be able to overcome the events that have taken place?
Can't wait to get stuck into the rest of this series

Be warned this is not a stand alone book.
I have to say first be prepared that this is not a stand alone book. Apparently this is a 3 book deal and I was not aware of this when I got this book. I don't know if I want to continue with the other books either. I was really into the book until, well I don't want to give anything away but it is toward the endnotes book. I also don't know if you can say this is an erotic thriller but once again that is only my opinion.

Shae is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t depend on her husband for everything but he is the centre of her world. Their love is one everyone wants but few get. When Allen tells Shae he wants to start a family and he wants to start that family on their anniversary that has Shae excited yet scared as they enter a new phase of their relationship.
Allen has the perfect life. A loving wife a booming vineyard and now they will be starting a family. Allen is the strong, quiet, passionate lover that every girl wants. His love for Shae brings out the protective side in him. Just when he thinks things are going perfectly, he finds out their life is about to change.
I’ve been a fan of M.S. Parker since she started and as I read all her books some are great and then there are ones like this were the character not only draws you in but affects how you feel. As I read this one I found myself hooked from the beginning thinking this was going to go one way when M.S. Parker throws a curve ball in the story leaving me stunned and emotional. As things moved on I was left wondering what was going to happen next and that I wasn’t sure if I could handle any more surprises. I felt like I could truly identify with Shae and what she was going through. I have never experienced it but the way the story was written you felt like you were her and going through things with her as she did. The love that Shae and Allen have is the kind anyone would want. It’s the undying kind that means you’re meant to be together. I’m cautiously looking forward to the next book in this series as I want to see what’s in store for the Lockwood’s. If you read only one series of M.S. Parker’s I highly suggest starting with this series and this book. It truly show cases what an amazing writer she is and how amazing all her characters are.

This was an incredible story quite different from past stories by this awesome author M.S.Parker. Allan is a vineyard owner having received it from an uncle in his will. Shae is a grade school teacher who has been married to Allen for just a year. Jasper is a doctor working in his dad's practice who is best friends with Allan since being roommates in college. Allan has been working crazy hours and Shae has been lonely and concerned about their relationship.
Allan plans a romantic anniversary with Shae; and it ends in a disaster. Shae is devastated and barely hanging on when she is confronted by Allan's grieving parents who demand everything that Allan had to be turned over to them. Jasper helps Shae out and he tries to keep Allen's family at bay.
"What did it say about the state of my marriage that Allen was more excited to see his old roommate than his wife?"
"Wrap his arm around my waist and pull me against him. Whisper in my ear how much he wanted me. Take me hard and fast, bent over the bed. Peel my clothes slowly from my body and make me beg. Not care about anything but our mutual pleasure."
This is definitely an emotional read, I shed a few tears and cheered for Shae to win the battles with her in laws. I found myself praying for something good to come out of the accident but through most of the story it just seemed like everyone was against Shae and what was rightfully hers. Excellent writing and a creative and suspenseful story is what you will experience if you read this book. I am so glad I read it. A real gem of a story with great characters and an intriguing original story. I can't say anymore without giving spoilers. You need to read this book!

M.S. Parker is definitely one of my favorite authors and is always at the top of my list when she has a new release scheduled to come out. I have to say that she actually stepped outside of her normal writing style when coming up with the concept for A Wicked Lie and she has left me completely speechless, this book was utterly fantastic she wrote with such passion and emotion, and its one of those seriously intense books you read from beginning to end without being able to put it down.

Shae is a second grade teacher and Allen runs the Vineyard that he inherited after college when his Uncle passed away. They are the perfect couple and incredibly in love, getting ready to start a family everything seems absolutely perfect until tragedy strikes. As they are celebrating their first wedding anniversary Shae's husband Allen dies during a tragic Sky diving accident. Shae is left to grieve her deceased husband and is constantly challenged by his family at every turn when they decide to contest his will and she is finally ready to give up. MS Parker has done it again with another stellar read, but this one crosses a line of her normal writing style and gives a good old fashioned who done it, with a little twist of erotica, and she couldn't have written it any better.
The story in this book is very well written and developed and the plot is very fast paced and will leave your jaw hanging on the ground at every turn of the page, and you will be left thinking oh my god what just happened here. The characters in this book are very well written and my heart is left bleeding for poor Shea and what she is put through, this poor girl has been through the ringer about five times by the end of the book. Jasper, I don't know about him, he seems to be hiding something and I don't think its something good.
This book is set around Allen, Shea's husband, dying during a sky diving excursion with his wife for their one year anniversary. However, Allen's family thinks that Shea had a part of it and it was an accident but murder. At every turn Shea is put to the test when his family is accusing her of things and trying to take away the only place Shea knows as home. Shea keeps turning to Allen's best friend Jasper every time she needs something, this does not impress Shea's brother Mitchell and when things finally start going Shea's way she crosses a line with Jasper. Was this a drunken mistake or will it lead to something more??? And we cannot forge the cliff hanger ending of this book that will leave you crying of more.

You never know what life has in store….
Shae and Allen Lockwood are still newlyweds though they actually have been together for years, having met and fell in love while both in college. Shae is a teacher and Allen runs the vineyard that he inherited after they married. Feeling a bit of distance between them, Shae is looking forward to reconnecting over their anniversary and revisiting their well-laid out plans for the future. What happened instead was going to throw everything into turmoil and take a direction she never could have imagined.
This is actually the first in a three-part series/serial. I’m not sure what to make of it all right now, actually. Shae was a sympathetic character to a point but the air of mystery which surrounds all the inhabitants of this book really got in the way of connecting with her and the others. While billed as an erotic thriller I think this is more in keeping with a romantic suspense. It’s hard not to delve more into the plot but suffice it to say Shae did not have many sympathetic people in her corner which provides a lot of the drama. I’m not sure why that is. Perhaps it speaks again to all the unspoken details that would have made this a more enjoyable read.
The questions and mysteries that have plagued this story were dealt a bombshell right before the cliffhanger ending so I definitely am intrigued and need to read the rest of the series to find out how it all unfolds.

I love this author. Ever since I stumbled upon one of her naughty serial series, I have become addicted. Each time she has a new release, I am first in line to grab and review. Her books are crazy hot, sexy, intense, and always full of suspense. This new series... definitely the BEST of her work by far in her writing career. This is just book one and only the beginning... you've been warned.
