Like Rae, the ocean has many moods. Some day it's restless, untamed. Other day it's laid back, dreaming. But it is peace that Rae finds while sitting alone in the trough just after dawn on what promises to be a beautiful day. So she surfs, connecting with the water, with nothing to prove ... until her meditation is interrupted by a mob of guys who move in and totally monopolize the waves!

When Rae complains, the boys hassle her and even mock her surfing abilities, insisting that female competitions are child's play compared to male contests. Ever the spitfire, Rae challenges them to a duel in the surf, but they refuse. She's no match for a guy. Rae is determined more than ever to prove them wrong, but there's no way she'll be able to compete against them in their males-only tournament. Or is there?
