I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this book and had not read the previous three. I was completely drawn in to this family saga that covered about forty five years by the end of the story. This book was told in two parts, the first half was narrated by Lindsay Halloran and the second half was her daughter Angelique (Angel).

It is the 1960's and Lindsay Halloran is staring down the barrel of an arranged marriage to a man she is not in love with and does not want to be wit 4.5 Stars

I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this book and had not read the previous three. I was completely drawn in to this family saga that covered about forty five years by the end of the story. This book was told in two parts, the first half was narrated by Lindsay Halloran and the second half was her daughter Angelique (Angel).

It is the 1960's and Lindsay Halloran is staring down the barrel of an arranged marriage to a man she is not in love with and does not want to be with. She does, however, have a very strong physical interest in the Italian stable hand, Anton Love. She has a choice to make, one will help her parents financial situation, give her a life of unhappiness but financial stability. The other choice will divide her family, bring struggle, financial hardship and an unknown future.

Lindsay is tired of conforming to her mother's constant berating and demands so in a moment of complete defiance ,she chooses the man who gets her all hot and bothered. Anton Love is a very stubborn and pride filled man. He takes his responsibilities seriously and will not accept help willingly. He is determined to make a success of his business and support his growing family.

Lindsay is drowning in a sea of housework, cooking and baby producing. She is exhausted and even though she chose this life, she never envisioned just how hard it would be. She loves Anton and he loves her. This is a situation that everyone having children finds themselves in. A lack of sleep, money and time for yourself can put a huge strain on a marriage. The struggles these two went through were very real. What I loved the most was that underneath all of this was the undeniable love that Lindsay and Anton have for each other and their children.

The second half of this story is told by Angel, she is the youngest child in the Love family and very like her mother was at that age. She is convinced that her mother hates her and they have a very strained relationship, not dissimilar to the one Lindsay had with her own mother.

We follow Angel and her brothers as they navigate their way through adulthood, including marriages, babies, tragedy, conflict and a huge pile of family drama. There are some very serious and real moments that a lot of families have to face at one point in their lives and Liz Crowe did a fantastic job at making me believe that this was a real family, existing in the world right now.

This is my first time reading a book written by Liz Crowe and it will definitely not be the last.

This book in particular can be read as a standalone and may wet your pallet enough to go back and find out more about the 4 deliciously southern Love brothers wrote about in the previous 3.5 books. I however, believe that this book is better read in the order in which the author wrote them.

Anthony, Kieran, Dominic and Aidan. If you like me have avidly followed this series then you will know the journeys these men have taken. But every family needs it Matriarch, and we all know that the backbone in this loving but at times dysfunctional family is Lindsay Halloran Love. Told in 2 parts, this story takes us back to the beginning. How a young and rebellious Lindsay met and married the dashing Italian stable hand Anton Love. Their story is one that I found fascinating and complex. It made me rethink my ideas on the origins of the obvious love and loyalty they have for each other all these years later, but it also threw up questions, secrets and lies. Part 2 then follows Angelique, the much wanted and only daughter, and how the volatile relationship she has with her mother effects the choices and pathways she takes in life.

I suppose my biggest question going into this book was how Ms Crowe was going to encapsulate the stories we have already read about in Angelique's story without rehashing old ground. I was happy to realise quite quickly that she did this very easily. Unlike the other books, Angel's story is told in first person. This isn't the norm for Liz, but wow it seriously works, adding a more personal twist to the story arc throughout the series as a whole. Of course situations are covered but whilst mentioning them, they are very much Angel's experience and thoughts on them - If anything this makes you look at them differently to a degree.

With respect to Lindsay's story - Would it be relevant or even necessary to the series? Well that is a big, fat YES!! The way you bring up children, teach them to love, respect and indeed the relationship you have with them are always a reflection on us as parents. They are the product of our own experiences, of our own childhoods and how they view the love we have for them and our partner/husband. The story is relevant because Lindsay and Anton's lives and the relationship they have with each other is reflected in each of their children; none more so than Angelique.

This book really does take you on an emotional journey. It is full of the ups, downs, twists and turns that we have come to expect from this very talented and unique storyteller. The final few chapters in this book have you unsure as to where it will end. As with all of Ms Crowe's book, a formulaic ending isn't a given. What you will get though is a real snapshot of true family life... warts and all.

A amazing conclusion to a superb series, and one that I have really enjoyed. Is it the end, well that is a question that only the author can answer. I for one hope we get a little Love update in the future. ...more

This book in the Love Family saga tells the tale of the mother and daughter as well as filling in other pieces along the way. You don't have to read the series in order to love the stories. In fact, you may want to read this one first because it sets up the other stories.

In Family Love, we get 2 main stories. First is the almighty parents - Lindsey and Anton. And we get a main focus on Angelique. What I loved about this was it is like going back and watching your fave daytime soap opera that you have not seen for a few months. You feel like you come home with all the characters

In Family Love, we get 2 main stories. First is the almighty parents - Lindsey and Anton. And we get a main focus on Angelique. What I loved about this was it is like going back and watching your fave daytime soap opera that you have not seen for a few months. You feel like you come home with all the characters and at the same time you get to find out new insights on them as well. You get trips down memory lane, and deeper explanations on stories you already know and love.

Lindsey and Anton... holy moly!! Now you just know that passion and drama run deep in the veins to have been able to have that DNA be part of all their children. Those kids did NOT fall far from the Love Family Tree! Lindsey and Anton's story give anyone of those kids drama a run for their money! You grow up knowing your parents as mom and dad, but you never really get to know them as they were as young adults, fiery passionate lovers, and the true depths of emotions that only parents like the Love Monarchy would have survived. You can absolutely experience the wrong decisions that mapped out their lives, and influenced the future Love generations... Truly eye opening and poignant to read it.

Then in-between that incredible journey, we get Angelique's story. I swear to god that I did not know whether to hug her or spank her! She would have tested the patience of God himself on one of her good days. But on those days where she made epic mistakes and choices... even He would have cursed! lol How she survived and had a long awaited HEA is beyond me...but she did!

Besides getting these 2 riveting stories.. you get great polar views from the stories of the other Love family members.. and a scary, hang on tight get your big girl panties on story that involves the entire Love clan. Seriously kept me on the edge of my seat and knowing that it was going to hurt! But Liz is a master at her craft, and as much as she guts us with shock and awe... she heals us with beautiful moments.. and in the end.. The Love Family is just that... a family full of love!

wow just wow. This is a fascinating insight into Lindsay love and her daughter.

first the writing is wonderful and the story is truly intriguing. You are kept in the story wondering what is going to happen next throughout the whole book.

when you first meet Lindsay Love in the other books of this series you think she is scrappy, opinionated, and loves her family. That she is wonderful and her love for her husband is immense. This book gives us the behind the scenes to Lindsay and her family.

the first part is about Lindsay and how she becomes Anton’s wife and their struggles. Through it all you see the love of Anton shine through. I felt for the guy I mean she was a spoiled young woman who was stubborn and short tempered. Not only that she was very cruel when she wanted to be. She didn’t think of the consequences and lashed out so others could feel her wrath or pain. I truly think Anton in the beginning in some way knew her reasons for marrying him but thought that his love would win her over. Who knew she was so empty and hollow inside. What she did when pregnant with Dominic was just wrong and cruel. Her desire for everyone to cow to her and her to always be right was just to much and seriously her thoughts about her pregnancy wow. So wrong. Than we have her lashing out at Anton about money and saying some horrible things. When he acts on this despair and doesn’t mean to she goes off the rails to get back at him but she goes further. Than she hides it. She feels he was in the wrong and justifies it. Although she feels guilty and when later on in years this comes back to bite her she can’t understand the issue. And after her daughter is born how she acts is just wrong. That girl felt unloved and as a burden. Her two children that were hurt by her actions were Dominic and Angelique.

the second part tells us about Angelique and her return to the family. How she felt her mom hated her and how messed up this made her. She felt unworthy of love and ran from happiness. As we read her journey into finding acceptance and love and seeing that family is important you feel sad for her. She only felt worthy from her father. A man who at one point just felt defeated until tragedy almost strikes this family and brings them all together to see what matters most and that is love, forgiveness and family.

A wonderfully insightful book into the two women of this family and what family is. About unconditional love and the bonds that love forms. About being there for each other no matter what and finding your way. You will love Anton and the boys, have alot of shock from the actions of Lindsay and see the side you didn’t know existed and feel sad for Angelique. A book on family and what family means and what love is there from family. the love and support a family gives and how they are there for each other. This book shows us what that means in a unique way and we see the good, bad and ugly of it all. ...more

This story is part of the Love Brothers series, based in Kentucky. The first books were about the four brothers and this story is mainly about Lindsay, the mother, and Angelique, the daughter. This is such a compelling story of Lindsay’s fifth child and only daughter, and their contentious relationship.

I can’t imagine having so many children so close together and the diversity of personalities in this family. As a parent, I truly enjoyed the various shenanigans of the boys growing up and laughed This story is part of the Love Brothers series, based in Kentucky. This is such a compelling story of Lindsay’s fifth child and only daughter, and their contentious relationship.

I can’t imagine having so many children so close together and the diversity of personalities in this family. As a parent, I truly enjoyed the various shenanigans of the boys growing up and laughed out loud many times. By the time Angelique was born, I believe that Lindsay was just too tired and depressed, which carried over into all of their interactions. Of course, Angelique had Anton, the father, wrapped around her finger from birth.

Ms. Crowe has captured the joy and angst of a couple and their children, throughout the various events and interactions of their lives. I have an invested interest in this family and love so many things about each of the characters and have cried over many parts of all of the books. This book was no exception, with my heart breaking at times. I enjoyed going back in time to when Anton and Lindsay first met, with their strong and clashing personalities. There were many times in this series where I wanted to whack a few people upside the head due to their stubbornness.

I loved how this story followed Angelique into adulthood, with her wild years, some frightening events, and eventually to a more mature woman. This is not a repeat of the other books but more of her POV throughout the years and how things affected her.

As with all Liz Crowe books, she takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Ms. Crowe doesn’t hesitate to write real life events, even if it breaks your heart and leaves you exhausted. I’ve read many of her books over the past couple of years and some scenes have never left me. You will definitely want to begin the series with Love Garage and follow all of the family through to Family Love, where you will see all of the main characters and their spouses, children, and more. The author NEVER gives the reader a fairytale HEA, but more of real life and sometimes a bittersweet HEA.

Oh. My. God!! Talk about having a book hangover on its way! I've been a fan of this series but didn't expect anything as emotional as what was delivered in Family Love. The feels it brought out, the tears that were pulled from me and the heartache I felt. Liz Crowe delivered something much more intense than I could have imagined.

This is the forth book in this series and they should be read in order to fully understand what is going on. This by far was the most emotional book of all. It has two parts. I got this on my Unlimited and to be real, I've paid 3-5 for books no where near as memorable. I love this author and have read most of her books. She writes family saga like no other.

This is not a fairytale happy ever after romance, this is real and heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. The book is in 2 halves, the first half was gripping and I couldn't stop reading. The second half was so good, I didn't want to finish so quickly so I had to force myself to stop reading.

Finally the story we have all been waiting for...well ok maybe just me. But from the beginning of this series Anton & Lindsay's love intrigued me. I'm a total sucker for a big family with parents who have been together through thick and thin.

This story also contains the relationship between Lindsay and her daughter Angelique who we know from the previous books is the only Love daughter. Mother/Daughter relationships can be tricky and their's is no exception.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. I loved seeing the young Anton and Lyndsay. I liked reading about their love and their struggles. I loved seeing a young Love family. The fact that there is nothing prissy or fake about this family remains one of my most favorite aspects of this series. Their love and struggles are what any normal family may go through, they aren't painted up in a pretty picture to hang on the wall and enjoy.

What can be more contentious then relationship between a mother and a daughter? This book is written in two parts, the first by Lindsay the mother and the second by Angelique the daughter. Just when you think Lindsay is a real bitch, the switch flips and you can totally identify with her struggles with family and life choices. Seeing the family and it’s drama through Angel’s eyes will make you evaluate your own sibling and parental relationships in life.

Wow what a great book. I liked how the author made the book into two parts with the past being the start and the second the continuation from the last Love Brothers book. I loved that we got the story of Anton & Lindsay's life and how it all started. All the struggles and issues like we all have. I have to say that I was disappointed at the beginning of Anton and Lindsey's story. It seemed at the end that there was much left out. Well, then I went on to read about Angel in the second half of the story and that's where the story became complete for me. If you start reading this book and find yourself not much liking the beginning, keep reading through to the end, Liz does not disappoint.

Once again, Liz Crowe has done it. I got this book the morning of its release, but I was busy. I read a few pages and put it down. But I kept thinking about it. Then, a few nights later, even though I was swamped, I decided I should read just a little more.

I didn't go to bed until 3:00 A.M. I couldn't put it down. I read straight through, and I don't regret it. It's a well-crafted story with all my favorite Love family members and an ending I didn't see coming (and I love when that happens).

I have been extremely lucky in being an advanced reader for Liz Crowe and with having read this book, it has LOVE, drama, hurt and frustration...the things that always make me feel totally wrung out after I read one of her books. I have really liked the Love Family books and honestly, I am a little sorry I read this one. In fact, I was really sad after this one. It updates all the families but nothing really turned out well after their HEA. It's also tells the back story of the parents and after reading it I was no longer a fan of them. No wonder the kids are such a mess. This book is told by the daughter and she is not even likable. She's one of those kids who blames her problems on her lack of affection as a child. Any ...more

It is interesting to finally get a look at the relationship that started it all. I read all the other books about the Love brothers.

It seemed like their behavior was odd considering their background and I wondered what was there that would lead them to have so many issues with relationships.
