I’m starting to view Medusa of the Inhumans as Marvel’s version of Hawkman – whenever she shows up, the comic takes a downwards turn!
In Ms Marvel #9, Kamala is battling a giant robot who’s attacked her school. Then she’s transported by Lockjaw to New Attilan where she discovers that she’s an Inhuman (or Nuhuman)! But Kamala’s home is New Jersey, not New Attilan, and she breaks out to take down the Inventor herself, with Lockjaw in tow.

I LOVED THIS ISSUE!!! I was basically this chick in the background the entire time I was reading it:
Why did I love this issue so much? Medusa, Queen of the Fucking Inhumans, wrapped her glorious, prehensile mane of red hair around Kamala to protect her while teleporting EVEN THOUGH HER PREVIOUS CONTACT WITH KAMALA WAS JUST A PICTURE OF HER EATING A GYRO. Bruno sprinted and leaped over a damn cop to be near Kamala when she got hurt. Star Wars references. Kamala finally learned she was an Inhuman ...more

Kamala has to find herself... and we learn more about her with her. Not only she's an "alien" in the USA because of her heritage, but apparently, she's an actual alien. Or is she?
We also get to know a bit more about Bruno. A glimpse. But sometimes an image, or an action, tells tons.
This issue felt more like an introductory text into the actual 'finding who I am and what is my purpose in life' plot that seems to come, though it is interesting to see how Kamala is still that stubborn teenager and ...more

The more I read Ms Marvel the more I love it! This issue has its fair share not just of action but of information and even a surprising twist or two.
Once again Kamala tries to balance her crime fighting with her personal life. Once again she doesn't quite succeed but since when has that ever stopped her?
I'm sure long term fans of Marvel comics will better recognize some of the terms here as well as a character who makes more of an appearance in this issue but newer fans like me might end up fee ...more

This is probably the most boring issue yet, which sucks because the last one was A-mazing! The part with Medusa was dull, and . . . didn't click. The issue didn't seem to blend well with the rest of the story until the end. Which sucks because I hate it when a story is going smoothly and suddenly I'm kicked out of the story waiting for things to blend again.

5 stars for the whole series and for Kamala Khan as a superhero.
4 for this particular issue, which was a teensy bit less fantastic than others have been - the perhaps necessary Inhumans exposition lessens the excitement and fun of earlier issues.
But back up to 5 for Kamala's weird stuffed winged sloth. I'm all about that. ...more

KAMALA.
This comic has quickly become one of my absolute favorites, and it's easy to see why: Kamala Khan. She's an amazing character; brave, but scared, and trying to do her damnedest even when she's not sure what that is.
Add in the fact that the plotline with the Inventor is going places, and becoming genuinely intriguing, and I'm so gung-ho about this right now. ...more

The plot thickens! This issue also gives you more information about the Inhumans, which is handy if you don't know this stuff. Like me. Also gives a name to the flame haired lady, Medusa. Going to look her up now...

Some answers. Definitely more questions.
Love getting more of Kamala's origin. Curious to hell as to what's going on with this harvest. Next time, I guess.
"Unique is no the same as alone." Love that. Good reminder for us all. ...more

The plot thickens!

The Inventor is still at large and I really hope Kamala puts an end to him soon. I don't want him to become her major nemesis. The new Ms. Marvel deserves someone better as a foe.
