All Allina has ever wanted is to be happy. For her happiness entails marrying the man of her dreams and having a family. Her Kind of Man is that age old story of good girl, bad choice-danger zone. I received a copy of Elle Wright's latest novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I want to say that Allina was naive but I don't think that was the case. She ignored her instincts because she wanted to prove a point. Trying to forget one man she settled for another with a dark side. Ms. ...more
I really enjoyed this entire series. Loved the way Kent supported his family even when "Den" didn't deserve it. However, I was disappointed that Kent didn't go after Allina and stop the wedding. Nevertheless, Kent really stepped up to the plate when Allina needed to escape from that psychopath who preached the word on Sunday and terrorized women the rest of the week. Lots of action in this one! (e-book edition).

Her Kind of Man is the third installment in the Edge of Scandal series by Elle Wright. After spending a few months with her friend Sydney after the birth of her daughter, Allina Parker decided it was time for her to go home. The problem was she did not want to go back to Ohio. Allina wanted to remain in Michigan. Waiting for her in Ohio was her finance`, Minister Isaac Hunter, and a storybook wedding. But Allina was not happy. As she prepared to walk down the aisle, she overheard the minister an ...more

This book had a great premise and intrigued me as soon as I read the synopsis. I just wish the delivery would of been a bit more. Her Kind Of Man is a friends to lover romance. It's full of self discovery and fighting the demons of their past. The story kinda has a Runaway Bride feel to it. I think Elle is a good writer but the story is not for me. I do think others will enjoy this one that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. I didn't connect to the characters but others might. Give this a shot if you ...more

APB Perspective Review

I was really looking forward to this story, I got to learn more about The couple ,boy did this story get interesting. I felt this book was missing something ,and it lacked the flow of the first two books. Even though this couple loved exact other , I felt like the connection wasn't there, and the storyline was a little out there. I would like to see what happens with Den next, I hope he gets a book too.

I love, Love!

These set of friends always give me a laugh. Mrs Wright always takes me through a rollercoaster of emotions & I love it. I could feel the love radiate from the pages. And those hot, sensual love scenes brought on hot flashes! Lol!

Great Read!

I enjoyed reading this story about Kent and Allina, you were able to learn a lot about Kent and Allina past. It also lets you know that starting a relationship as friends could eventually turn into a loving relationship. I definitely recommend this book.

I won this book through Goodreads Giveaways. I loved it from beginning to end. The characters were well developed and so was the story. I found myself not wanting to put this one down. Even though this was book 3 in the series and I hand't read the first two I was able to read without any problems. The book covered some of the back story on the other characters.
Kent and Allina make you fall in love with them. They both have past that are holding them back and both don't know if the other loves

A love finally acknowledged

Kent and Allina had been in love with each other for years. All of their friends new it and so did they but for different reasons they never acknowledged it or acted on it. A failed wedding day, a crazy ex fiance making threats leads her to him and brings an acknowledgement of their feelings for each other. It was great seeing all 6 friends in the Edge of Scandal series find their happily ever after. Next I will read about Did and Morgan's wedding and then on to another a

Alina was a little hard to like, she was a good girl gone too far. Her inexperience made her more than a little naive, and somewhat scatterbrained.

The relationship with Kent was ok, but because Alina was skittish/Wonder Woman, I couldn’t connect their story to something believable.

This series was awesome. Loved the connections and friendships. Elle Wright develops her characters in a way that makes you want to get to know them. She also touched on mental illness and how it affects the entire family. Great great series!

*E-ARC provided by Publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review*

The third book in author Elle Wright’s Edge of Scandal series, Her Kind of Man is the best kind of friends to lovers story. The kind that burrows beneath your skin and lingers inside your mind. The kind that makes you wonder. The kind that makes you hope. The kind that makes you believe in friendship before love and following your heart, listening to your instincts instead of the doubt and insecurity inside your he

There was a lot that I enjoyed about this book. Friends to lovers is a trope I always enjoy, and I like a good enforced closeness. The author creates that closeness by giving Allina a crazy stalker, forcing her to hide with her best guy friend to avoid him. Instant sexual tension! And I like that Allina has a strong group of female friends, although I jumped in the series at book 3, so I suspect that aspect would have been even stronger if I'd had the full backstory.

I enjoyed the first two books of the series, but I loved this one the most. I honestly didn’t think I would like Allina as much as I did. Of the three women (Syd – so dramatic, Cali – tough as nails and awesome), I found Allina to be the odd one out in the first two books. She bordered on boring for me. Boy was I wrong. Yes she’s a good girl, but she has strength, grit, and courage to spare. She’d been through a lot in her life and her current fiancé doesn’t make things any easier.

Yes Lawd, He is my kind of Man

Kent and Allina's story was as compellingly sweet, and oh so tantalizing. The opening with the runaway bride them was pure magic.. Loved it!! The drama this time around was ramped twofold.. After Allina escaped and landed on Kent's doorstep; I knew the story was going to be interesting. The preacher was so unchristian like in his behavior, but I never suspected his dirty deeds would be of such a magnitude. I knew Kent, Morgan and Jared would come riding in on

All Allina Parker wanted was a "forever" love but on her wedding day she becomes a runaway bride after hearing and seeing the worst side of her fiancé.
Kent Smith has strong feeling for Allina but since he seems to mess up every relationship he's ever been in, he'd rather keep her as a friend than test the waters, but when she shows up at his door on her wedding day the game changes.
I loved Kent & Allina's story. It's about choice, chance and change. The story is an absolute page turner and

Wow, what a good book - it was dramatic, real, tragic, heartbreaking, emotional - yet at the same time, it was hopeful and romantic. A friends-to-lovers story with plenty of baggage on both sides - and lots of sexy times! But there are also some evil factors at work as well - with a very suspenseful conclusion! Although there were mentions of characters from the other two books in the series, they were more in support roles as friends and not particularly integral to the story, which I felt coul ...more

I absolutely loved this book. This is the third book in the series. I'm torn between this one and The Forbidden Man as my favorite. Allina and Kent have been playing cat-and-mouse for years. Allina has always loved and wanted Kent. Nothing materialized even though he had feelings for her as well. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I cried, I laughed and I yelled and cursed at the characters. I'm a romantic so I'm a sucker for a good love story. Elle Wright did her thing again. I ca

Elle Wright's "Her Kind of Man" perfectly keeps this amazing series flowing. I have to admit that it was definitely worth the wait time between books two and three. It makes me wish for Den's next step after rehabbing his personal and medical issues. Hint, hint Elle... The flow of Lina and Kent's story allowed me to read this book fairly quickly. Character chemistry continues to be on point and I love being able to interact with the couples from the first two books of the series. No spoilers, bu ...more

OMG this book was sooooo worth the wait. I love the fact that Elle Wright writes stories with different characters personalities and tie them and make a wonderful story. I love that with the group of friends no matter what each of them go through they're a stronger group of friends and a strong family, they're there for each other when one or all of them needs each other. The loyalty and the bonds between them all are strong. I hate to see this book series end. All three books are a definite seri ...more

"Although the road traveled was full of winding roads and rough terrain, she couldn't regret it. It had brought her there - to Kent. In a sense, she had Isaac to thank."

Sometimes we must go through some "jokers" to get to the "one." Get ready for Kent, Allina and their eventful love story. Full review to come!

Born and raised in Southeast Michigan near Ann Arbor, Elle learned the importance of reading from her mother. It was also her mother who, later on in her life, gave Elle her first romance novel: Indigo by Beverly Jenkins.
