I was really enjoying this book and the unique characters, then all of a sudden it wrapped up too quickly, too easily.

When trust, compassion, and kindness is put to test, and you have to rely on God, to keep you going.
The little diner lives through a whirlwind, when the owner suffers a stroke, and his son comes home from Afghanistan, to take care of dad, and the diner, that seems to be falling apart.
Everything that you can think about being wrong in a restaurant, is wrong at the landmark diner. Not only is the owner in a hospital, the roof leaking, the grill not working, the dishwasher not showing u

I hate giving bad reviews, especially since this was the first time reading this author but I try to review everything I read no matter what. And I've heard enough authors begging for reviews so . . .

I can honestly say I did like the plot. The owner of a diner, Sully, has a stroke. His son, Jack, who is in the military, gets permission to come home on leave where he proceeds to take over the diner until his dad is back on his feet. Olivia is a waitress there. She is also going to school to beco

I loved this story by Cheryl Wyatt! The Hero's Sweetheart continues your love of small town romance in Eagle Point. From the first page you'll feel like you're at home and talking with your friends.

Jack Sullenberger comes home from Afghanistan to run his dad's diner while he recovers from a stroke. Anything that could go wrong, does. Jack has to fight long and hard to keep the diner running, find out who's stealing from the diner, and keep his heart under guard. He'd rather give orders than pra

The romance formula is that when boy meets girl, there is a reason why they can't get together right away. In this case the reason is that the girl works in a diner, while training as an emergency medical technician, and the guy is home from service in Afghanistan because his father, the diner owner, has had a stroke. No fooling around with employees.

The impecunious staff are not the reason why the diner has been losing money - now the son discovers that his father, in hospital, had taken out l

The Hero’s Sweetheart by Cheryl Wyatt is a sweet Christian small town romance with two characters that appear to be opposites. Jack is a commander in the military and used to being in control. When his dad has a stroke he realizes how little control he has. Jack keeps in constant contact with Olivia as he is trying to get to his dad’s side. Olivia works at the diner with his dad and is in school to be an EMT which helps her give very detailed updates.
Once Jack arrives they seem to disagree abou

I just love the small town feeling you get when you read a Cheryl Wyatt book and this latest book delivers big.

Jack rushes home when his father takes ill. He must fight back the resentment he has for the others who have supported and loved his father while he has been deployed overseas. What Jack can't understand is why it seems the spiky haired, pierced and tattooed server from the diner knows more about his father than he does.

I loved Olivia from the

Jack Sullenberger is serving overseas when he learns his father has had a stroke. When he arrives home, he meets feisty Olivia Abbott at his father's bedside. He takes control of the diner his father owns, and his father's care, pushing Olivia to the side...Olivia is not your typical romance heroine. She has short and spiky hair, purple lipstick, tattoos, and punk earrings. But she steals Jack's heart from the beginning. Jack soon learns that the diner is in trouble financially - deep, deep trou ...more

I like reading Love Inspired fiction books when I'm in the mood to read a wholesome, mostly happy, inspiring book. This book was perfect for that moment. I was totally surprised at the end when there was a tiny element of suspense and was glad it was still a Happily Ever After book.

My favorite part of this book was the banter between FORD loving, Jack, and Chevy driving, Olivia. I also really love how everyone banded together multiple times in this book. I love reading about people w

Another can't-put-it-down book in Cheryl Wyatt's Eagle Point Emergency series! It's ok if you haven't read the other books in the series because it's a great stand alone as well. Cheryl starts the story with diner owner, Sully, having a stroke while his military commander son, Jack, is overseas. Jack returns and meets Olivia, a waitress at Sully's and Sully's right hand girl. Jack takes over running the failing diner with new rules, investigations into missing money, and consequences for the sta ...more

Olivia is such a complex heroine -- she has a big heart and generous spirit and a quirky sense of humour. And she definitely has her own unique sense of style. Her outward appearance (and the book cover doesn't do her justice at all!) is what throws Jack off at their first meet. These two seemed destined to leap to wrong conclusions about each other all the way through the book. Mind you they are their own worst enemy as well since some simple communication and an iota of trust would go a long w ...more

The Hero's Sweetheart by Cheryl Wyatt. This was a very interesting book. I really liked it. Jack Sullenberger returns home from the Military, when his father has a stroke and is hospitalized. It is very serious. His father owns a restaurant. Jack takes over running the restaurant. He finds out that money is missing and the restaurant is in the hole. He has to raise money, somehow, to pay the loan.
Olivia Abbott is one of the waitress's. Olivia has dyslexia. She is taking classes to become a

There are truly times that two people seem like polar opposite fit together, if for no other reason than to complete the other. I felt that was the case in this book. I wouldn’t normally put them together, but they seemed to be the missing piece to the other person’s puzzle. I loved Olivia and her fun co-workers. The description of her had me laughing, but there was no denying she was full of heart. Jack didn’t grow on me quite as fast. I knew he was dealing with things, but I wasn’t completely ...more

"While Olivia is a bit too proud at times, her feisty determination and trusting nature are captivating. Wyatt skillfully handles a number of topics, including abuse and disabilities. All of the characters perfectly combine to show that family does not always mean blood" (RT Book Reviews, 4 1/2 stars TOP PICK!).

One negative thing - and it's not about the story which is great. Why, when you have a main female character who does not look like something out of a catalog, would you portray her as one on the cover?

Sweet tale of how opposites attract. And how we should trust others. And how it's always best to learn to ask for help when we need it. Great addition to this series!
