“I’m not a good guy.”

“I don’t think I care.”

What can I say about Ainsley Booth?????

I’ve wanted to read this sucker ever since the first time I saw it due to the super classy title and the fact that the fellar on the cover reminded me a bit of . . . .

However, I am fully aware of my limitations and knowing it was being released as a SERIAL (a/k/a the only thing more irritating to me than a series) was enough to keep me away. When another pervert who shall remain nameless *cough Shelby cough* informed me this was available for FREEEEEEEEEEEEE (go get you some RIGHT HERE) and it was the entire first book – not the first of the three part serial – I one-clicked that sumbitch as fast as my fat little fingers would let me. Then I went to my youngest’s baseball tournament and had multiple parents ask what I was reading. Good times.

The story here is of Cole and Hailey. Hailey is a silver-spoon type with a heart of gold from a family who has a hard time steering clear of scandal. Cole is a “fixer” of situations like those Hailey’s family is prone to getting involved with. Part security guard, part private investigator, part criminal – Cole and the other members of The Horus Group do whatever it takes to clean up messes. That knowledge has made Hailey keep her guard up, despite Cole’s animal magnetism. Normally that would be the best case scenario for Cole, but Hailey’s been crawling under his skin . . . .

“When I say you’re a distraction, I mean I can’t get you out of my fucking head. I wonder what the inside of your mouth tastes like and if you’d pull my hair when I go down on you.”

And then . . . . . .

This book is exactly what the title claims it to be. As Cole says . . . . .

“Even though we’ve shared a kiss and I’ve gotten her off, most of the time she doesn’t like me.”

When I saw this was a love/hate type of story, I was expecting plenty of this . . . .

And also some of this . . . .

Imagine my surprise when there was a bit of plot thrown in for good measure. What starts as a simple TMZ type of story quickly morphs into a potential crime ring between a couple of squicky bad guys . . . . .

I also always figure I’ll hate the female lead never expected to get so many grins out of a story with a title like this, but Hailey’s internal voice was pretty freaking funny. No “inner goddess” here, she thought normal, self-deprecating things like . . . .

“I think about taking off the skirt, but it’s better that Cole not see the full extent of my thighs until after we’ve had sex. Plus I’m cute. You’re cute, I mouth at myself in the mirror. The chubby chick stares back, not quite believing me. You give Cole Parker a hard-on.”

And while there were some things that never jive with me like being so caught up in the moment a condom isn’t used without even taking 10 seconds to make sure no babies or STDs will be happening as well as some talk about being “slippery now, sloppy even” which is seriously . . . . .

I really couldn’t expect that NOT to happen in a book with a title such as this.

Additional props to the endless epilogues that didn’t waste too much of my time talking about the sappily ever after mumbo-jumbo, but instead talked more about how to . . . . .

Tons of drama and action. It started off with some angst however i think this book was low on the angst scale and surprisingly had A LOT of sweet, especially from the hero. Off the charts sex scenes and i'm looking forward to other characters' books.

Well, it was definitely a hot and suspenseful story with an interesting plot.

I liked a lot about it... except for this shit:
But I'm wearing tights, and boots, and there's nothing sexy about a chubby girl peeling herself out of spandex and leather.
- fucking fuck, will the female authors ever STOP cheering self body shaming and making those insecure heroines who rise only after a steel-hard-muscled hero tells them they are sexy?!?!

There were so many comments about her ass "hanging out", "hanging off", and whatthefucknot!!! We get it! She finds herself "chubby" and unworthy except for her delicate sexy ankles!! Point made 100 pages ago, enough! But no, it goes on and on until practically the last chapters. UGH.

We had a couple of sentences for the hero's background and I wanted more there. He was supposed to be this good good person who did some bad bad things, and we never got anything about it, just talk. Yet I admit, despite everything that was wrong, their sexual tension was off the charts and really well done; even if (I can't believe I'm saying this) a little less sex would do the story good.

Anyway... I still liked the writing and will continue with the series.

UGH. Here goes. I got this book without reading the blurb and what I got from the title, Hate F*@k was of two schoolmates who had so much sexual tension but they hated each other. The guy's a massive jerk. The girl's the resident loser. LOL. Damn, I was so far off!

What I got was sex, some politics, sex, corruption, sex, secret organizations, more sex, pussy licking, human trafficking, more sex, kidnapping, suspense, sex, sex, and sex. And have I mentioned sex? Look I'm no dumbo. Of course I expected steamy scenes from a book entitled Hate F*@k! It's just with this 3 part serial? It's just WAY too much.

There's barely any relationship development between Cole Hailey. Sexually? Yeah they're compatible. But I tried and I still could not get why they liked each other so much. All they did together is fuck. That shit just dragged on forever. And while we're on the topic, there were like, 2 scenes of them hate fucking each other? The rest, not so much on the hate fuck department.

I did like the whole bit with the PRISM, the whole corrupted politicians, murders and human trafficking. Those parts, at least, were exciting for me to read. What didn't excite me was the author's writing style. I'm not sure if she was trying to make her writing sound poetic but it only served to exasperate me and I blanked out a lot. Which exasperated me even more because I had to re-read and re-read to make sure I was reading right.

"I feel Cole the second the doors crack open. He's like a hot Caribbean wind, swirling in, wrapping around me, ready to suck me back out again. Because I'm his, even from across the room with a dozen bad guys in between."

Sorry but.. get on with it! I'm too lazy to quote more scenes but this about sums up how both characters sound in the book.

Hailey, the heroine, well, I genuinely liked her and how badass she could be. The hero is a total UGH to me. He fucks like a champion, sure, great. But he annoys me and don't get me started on his orgies filled past. I don't know why it bothered me so much -- I'm no prude. But UGH.

Man, I really wanted to be able to give this book more stars because it had a promising, unique plot, that could have been really interesting. I just don't think it was executed well. I feel like there is so much left unsaid and I'm still not sure I know what the hell was happening completely. After reading all three parts, there is still way too much grey and mystery behind what the Horus group was doing, who Prisma is, what all dad and mom Reid are doing, etc. I understand there are supposed to be more books based on the other characters, but something just doesn't sit right with me when I read over 400 pages and still am unsure what all Cole does to make him feel like he is a bad person, what all Hailey's parents were up to, why her sister disappeared. I felt like the book just ended and there was no resolution on so many things brought up during the main characters' story line.

Also, the character development is poor. I don't feel like I know Cole and Hailey, and I definitely don't believe they are in love; based on what I read, it appears they are more in love with the sex they are having. I mean, they see each other and are drawn to one another, meet 6 months later, and quickly fall in love because they had sex once and feel chemistry. Cole just seems to change his whole lifestyle and personality overnight because of her, when he barely knows her. Yea...not believable to me. It seems like yea they may have had some deep conversations along the way, but we don't read about them and the info is vague.

Another thing, it's called Hate Fuck, but seriously there is no hate besides a brief moment in the beginning. Then it's all "you are my everything, even though I hardly know you."

This story had the potential to be a great one but, for me, it wasn't.

First of all, let's get something out of the way, shall we? I picked this book because I like a lot the forbidden love between a bodyguard and his client. That's why I overlooked the title. But be aware, this book isn't that. I mean they kiss @6% or so. It's more an enemies to lovers story than a bodyguard-client one.

So this book is 80% about the relationship between the main characters (with many and quite long steamy scenes) and 20% about the plot. The thing is that the plot is quite interesting and if this book wasn't so focused on the relationship/steamy part I think it could be a great read for me.

Also, I have to mention that the writing style felt all over the place to me and that's why I couldn't keep track of the plot sometimes.

The steamy parts were good but that's not the only thing I'm looking for in a book with more than 300 pages. Overall, I wasn't impressed by it but I might read the next book which is about Allison because I like her as a character. 2 ⭐

So... I went into this knowing full well that it was probably going to be full of wall to wall sex. And nope, I was not disappointed in that regard. What I would've liked was a bit more cohesion from one section to another (the story was initially released as three separate sections).

Sadly, the other part that I felt let down by was the inconstancy in the characterisations. The heroine bounced between being an innocent, and being led by her vagina. The hero likewise went from "I want this girl" to "I need her to keep her away from me for her own safety", often within the same chapter.

Unfortunately, those two factors really drew me out of the story, and the otherwise fun (though near-constant) descriptions of their marathon sex sessions.

I decided to give this one a chance (the name kind of threw me) but I'm so glad I did. This was a great read. I loved Cole and I loved Hailey. This was a sexy, dirty, sweet romance. Even though the name implies hate f*@king I didn't get that feeling at all! There is great sexual tension and nuclear chemistry between the MCs.

This story definitely isn't what the title suggests it will be. It was more like two people that were crazy attracted to each other but each one had their reasons for denying their attraction/feelings. I'd describe it more like angry sex rather than hate sex. There was so much emotion and OTT passion to ever be considered hate. More like intense sexual frustration and out of control cravings. It was hot and irresistible!

This was almost perfect. Almost because there were some minor issues I had. One being Hailey's constant denial of even the slight possibility that Cole wasn't the "bad" guy she made him out to be. That was annoying but luckily it was not dragged out too much. The second issue I had is the (however minor) mention ofCole's past with Penny. I got over it because throughout the story, it was easy for me to feel that what he feels for the h was real and unique. I loved the scene were he explains that with Hailey, it always feels like the first time. Did I mention I loved Cole? Cause I did.

I considered it safe enough for me. FYI

I really wanted to love this book. It was okay but I didn't love it. It just seemed to kind of dragged on.

I did love the story baseline. There was chemistry between two main characters, Cole and Hailey. Tons of Drama and action.

I didn’t feel like there was a build-up between Cole and Hailey. Sexually there where compatible. I just couldn’t connect with them

If your looking for sex, drama, and action this give this book a try

A few highlights for you about Hailey & Cole and The Horus Group ...

I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER ROMANCE STORY ~~ No two people have ever been more suited than these two. Where one is dark, the other is light. Where one is hard, the other is soft. The energy between them is electric and it's powerful. Their love is kismet.

This isn't over. It's coming back. And it's gonna hurt. So PAY ATTENTION!

The Horus Group has indeed moved The Gladiators aside...it's time to get down to business!

Hate F*@k: The Complete Story contains two exclusive bonus epilogues! Here are my thoughts:

Hate F*@k: In The Middle of the Night
"You get so sloppy after you come, baby. It's hot." I wish I'd known that. I wasted ten years after puberty being embarrassed about the awesomeness between my legs.

#‎filthy‬ ‪#‎dirty‬ ‪#‎goodness‬

Hate F*@k: Wedding Day
Cole: I try to live every day like my deeds are my vows to her. I don’t always succeed. Sometimes she needs to poke me.
Hailey: “Don’t ever think you’re not enough for me,” she mock growls at me when I finally let her up for air. “You’re my rock, you get that? I don’t need you to be anything else, because you anchor me.”

Dear Ainsley:
I hate you a little for the vows, but love you for them more <3
Thank you for writing this 'moment in time'

I'm so so so happy that I read this once it was a whole novel. Serials make me crazed. The only drawback to reading novels that were previously serialized is that they seem too sex-heavy when read in one whack. But that's okay. I'd rather skim over some "Yeah, you like my cock," scenes than be left hanging for a couple of months to see how things work out.

I couldn't give this a 5-star because of 2 things: The hero and heroine weren't as fleshed out as they should have been and the story about the billionaire sex-slaver and his connections to the heroine's parents was just not tidied up or explained well enough. There was a little bit of wasted potential here that was attempting to be masked by super-hot sex.

Having said that, I am still 100% on-board with the rest of these Horus Group guys. But not so 100% that I will purchase any serials. I won't bend on that. Okay so let's call it 98% on-board.

Tag, Wilson, Jason: I'll see you when you're complete.

I intended to wait until this collection came out but I couldn't I broke all my rules reading the books individually but I wasn't a bit sorry I loved them, even my dislike of cliffhangers couldn't hold me back and what cliffhangers they are as well.
If you've not read these books then this collection is incredible value if like me you've already read them then I'm not sure it's worth the extra although it's nice to have the whole collection together.
The extras scenes: one is just a sex, I say 'just' because that's all it is but it is a very hot scene, the next one is beautiful and if you've been a huge fan of this series then it's probably worth the 99p for this scene alone.
I'll certainly be looking out for the next book which I believe is 'Dirty' a prequel to Wilsons 'Dirty Love' but I'm in this for the long haul so however they come I'll be reading them.
Part One:
Cole Parker is ex Navy SEALs and along with his three partners has formed The Horus Group, a crisis management team working with the rich and famous.
Hailey Reid, her family is rich but she's trying to live her own life but no matter how hard she tries she always gets sucked back into the family drama, like now, it's her sister who's on tape giving a blow job to the Vice President and yet the press are hounding Hailey and just like their family drama six months ago Cole Parker and The Horus Group are on the case.
This book had a bit of everything the characters are fabulous I loved both Hailey and Cole, the story is interesting, it's also HOT and I do mean hot and the cliffhanger...wow. In fact I'm struggling to find something I didn't like, well apart from the title of course and I t's so much more than the title, I'm just glad I didn't just pass this by which if I'm being honest was my first thought.
Part Two:
This book picks up where the previous one left off, I assumed this one would be taken up with the previous cliffhanger but that was actually sorted out fairly quickly and then this book goes in a whole different direction.
We also get a glimpse of the bigger picture but nothing could have prepared me for the ending to this one, I really didn't see that coming.
Cole is still hot, I love him and Hailey together and I can't wait for the third and final book.
Part Three:
I originally passed this series by since I didn't like the title and if I'm being honest I wasn't expecting much, loads of sex, cliffhanger and not much story, but then a friend reviewed it and loved it which made me check it out and wow was I surprised.
The last book ended on a huge cliffhanger and this book picks straight up from there, I'm not going to say anymore about the story because I don't want to inadvertently give anything away.
This book is different to the previous two, it's a little softer and my first thought was that it wasn't as good but I don't think that's true it just wasn't quite what I was expecting, we see a different side to Cole, there's also a couple of surprises and some very well written very hot sex, I love both Cole and Hailey and really wanted things to work out for them, like I said this series was a surprise and so much more than I originally expected and I can't wait to continue on because while this is the last book with Cole and Hailey in the spotlight The Horus Group will continue on and I since I also love Jason, Tag and Wilson I'm now just left waiting for the next book.

Afrodyt's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

4.5 stars

The Horus Group are political “fixers” reminiscent of Olivia Pope and the crew of Scandal. Only they’re a group of ex-military hotties. This story begins with Hailey Reid being stalked by photographers because of a scandal involving members of her family and she’s royally pissed about it. Cole Parker is assigned to minimize the media firestorm. There’s just one problem Cole and Hailey have a very volatile relationship with each other. They’re also really attracted to each other.

Cole has decided to be a bastard to Hailey because he’s decided he’s not right for her. How many times have you seen that in a novel, right? The hero looks in his past and deems himself unworthy of the heroine.

He has a very dirty mouth and he’s pretty clever, too. It’s almost cliche but somehow the author pulls it off and it’s very good foreplay, for the character and the reader. The sex is explosive and detailed and intensely hot! Cole Parker has earned himself a spot on my book boyfriend VIP list, that’s for sure.

Hailey is pretty pissed off with her family and she doesn’t hold back. Her humor is quick but very dry and snarky. You can tell it’s just armor to cover for her soft heart, but given the cutthroat nature of certain members of her family she’s had to toughen up to protect herself. Her internal voice is strong and witty. I like her honesty and yet sometimes her internal dialog goes on too long, especially during sex. But I guess some women can’t shut their brains down and get fucked properly.

The first person POV of both characters coupled with their sarcastic banter makes the tone of the book feel fresh and personable. The reader knows exactly how the characters are feeling in real time and I really liked that about this novel. There is a lot of action and suspense in this novel, so much in fact that there are bits and pieces of character development that get lost in the shuffle. I feel like we never truly get to know Cole’s background or why he’s so drawn to Hailey. They have a great cast of characters around them that are also intriguing. I’m definitely looking forward to more books in this series.

I love me some good romantic suspense stories. Hadn’t read one in a while and randomly decided to start this one that has been waiting on my Kindle to be read for too long. This was the first book by this author that I read and it's safe to say it won't be the last.

Super happy I finally gave it a go, because it was a really good read. Took me a bit longer than expected, because I normally only read at night on the Kindle - during the day I mostly always grab a physical book - and I haven't had much nights in which I had the energy to read haha. But every time I continued in this book, I was immediately hooked again and enjoying the story.

There's a fair amount of steam present, but also more than enough good romance, story- and character development. Can’t wait to dive into the next one!

I had this ebook for a while. Found it free on Amazon and I already knew the author. I love Ainsley's books.
This story is divided into three parts. All of them about Cole and Hailey.

Cole is an ex-Navy Seal that now works with his partners as a "special" PR. Their jobs are to help wealthy and powerful people when they get into trouble or when they do something bad. Cole is a bad boy. He does what need to be done. Always. No matter what. Until a curvy brunette changes his perspectives on things.
"Hailey Dashford Reid, with her silky brown hair and big, smoky blue eyes, all prim and proper and so fu**ing sexy it makes my nuts ache. Also, totally off-limits."

Hailey is one of the daughters of a powerful man that hired The Horus Group to get him out of trouble. Hailey does everything in her power to step away from her family money or business. She's independent, good and calm. She doesn't need any more drama than her family already brings to the table. She meets Cole in the middle of a family crisis. He's the bad boy helping her father.
"I like things I can control. I like things I can put in boxes. I can’t put Cole in a box. There’s no duct tape strong enough."

Both of them feel the instant attraction but they are not ready to act on that because she's off limits for him and he is too much of a bad boy for her. However, attraction had a way of changing people's minds. They try to resist it but it's no use.

"I’ve got a reputation as a tough guy. Ex-Navy SEAL, nothing fazes me. But if anyone wanted to undermine me, all they’d need to do is throw Hailey Reid in my tracks. This woman turns me into a simpering idiot. And if she’d have me, I’d give it all up and try to be a better man for her."

After another crisis, they meet again and things now heat up more than it's allowed. Except this time, they are ready to act on that growing feeling.

I say it then, the secret I’ve kept inside. I say it so quietly she doesn’t hear me, I’m sure of it, because she doesn’t react. “I love you,” I breathe into her hair.

I loved every second of this read. It had everything: passion, love, heat, dangerous situations, kidnappings, shootings, and a lot of sex. These two can't keep their hands to themselves.
I really loved how strong Haily was while she was in danger, she put her game face and fought for her life.

“You love me?” she repeats, her words muffled as she burrows deeper into my skin. That’s okay. It’s where she belongs.
“Yeah.” I clear my throat. “Didn’t really know how to say it. Never have before.”
She shakes her head at me.
“What?”
“That’s how you make everything right. You make me melt, Cole.”
I can’t help but grin. Damn, I like the sound of that.

This book was great. It was super exciting, beginning to end.
I'm super curious about Jason and whatever happened with Ellie. I hope they get their own book.
Also, can't wait to see the books about the other guys. They are great.

A bad boy can be so very good.
A good girl can get really dirty.
And two lonely people who find each other can finally be happy.

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

I picked up Hate F*@k for just 99c when I was browsing Amazon, as it had some pretty good reviews, so I thought, why the hell not! It was originally released in three parts, and is now bundled in this one book. It was an addictive read, with plenty of sizzling scenes and a touch of suspense.

Cole works for the Horus Group. They are the people you call when you need your reputation fixed after something damaging goes down. They were originally hired by Hailey’s father, and are now back after Hailey’s sister, Taylor, becomes the centre of attention. Hayley and Cole both harboured fantasies about one another, but never acted on them, but now they are back together it becomes harder to fight their connection. Initially they don’t really like each other, but they soon let lust and passion take control.

I liked that Hailey was a girl with curves, and that Cole was attracted to her from the beginning. He makes her feel beautiful, but Hailey’s a little insecure. Cole‘s an ex-seal, and ripped in all the right places and Hailey doesn’t believe that he’ll stay with her. They are really good together, they find it easy to be around one another and Cole becomes very protective of Hailey.

I liked meeting Cole’s partner’s on the Horus group too. It was amusing to see Hayley teach Wilson to knit, Jason was the broody one of the bunch, and Tag has a complicated relationship with his ex. I cannot wait to get their stories!!

The story got really exciting when an element of suspense was introduced, but it was short lived. I would’ve liked to see more of it, but hopefully there will be more in future books. There were a few twists that I didn’t see coming and a few threads were left open which will be interesting in upcoming reads. Overall, it was a solid start to the series, and I look forward to reading more. I’m not a fan of serials, so I will wait until the stories are complete before picking them up.

*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

When I saw that Ainsley Booth had added two exclusive bonus epilogues! To her Hate F*@k series. I was excited. Having read and loved parts One, Two and Three I knew needed to read them.

Well, what can I say the first epilogue was a hot sexy read and left fanning myself and thinking how Hailey is one lucky lady. And as for Cole I love him even more. Wow! These two have always been hot together inside and outside of the bedroom.

The second epilogue was just perfect. It was sweet romantic and exactly showed how much Cole and Hayley mean and feel about each other. Yes, the sex is hot between them but the emotional connection is intense too. Which is something else that I have always loved about Cole and Hailey’s relationship.

So glad that she added the two exclusive bonus epilogues as completes their story. I’m looking forward the rest of the rest of the series, can't wait to read Tag, Jason and Wilson’s stories the rest of the men from The Horus Group. And I sure Ainsley will give us a little more Cole and Hailey.

Ainsley Booth knows how to write good smut that leaves you fanning yourself and romance that makes you swoon. If you haven’t read this series, then I recommend that you one click today as I sure that Cole Parker will be your next book boyfriend

Wow! Really great start...

I've been looking for a series to read just like this and I am so happy I found this. I loved, LOVED both characters, I'm always giddy when that happens because I always find myself so one sided in books. Both these characters are worthy.

I love you, I hate you books, are some of my favorite. I like faithful characters in them especially. I like to be sold on the overwhelming energy it takes for it to turn into more and this author nailed it. Steamy, sexy, swoony hate love stuff.

Then she adds a great story, a good mystery, proceeds to not solve it all so I still want to continue the series and introduced us enough to other characters I now care about without taking away from the main H and h. That's a gift.

I still need to know what's up with the mother and grandfather. Shady, shady. I'm really intrigued by all the men and Haileys family. (Although, the brother doesn't get mentioned much?) where does he fall in all of this? Hmmmm.....

This is my first book by this author, and you are very talented. Do not change your writing style at all. It's riveting and you are a natural. On to the next in the series.

This book actually lands somewhere between three and four for me, but I am rounding up to four stars because this is my first read by Ainsley Booth. First things first, I don't like the title. It's gratuitous, in my opinion it doesn't reflect the actual story, and it sucks when you're reading this book and somebody asks you what are you reading. Moving on, while there is definitely a huge amount of sexual tension which leads to some hot, angry sex for our H and h in the beginning, It was never just that and quickly develops into a whole lot more. Although dominated by the sex in my opinion, there's an awesome plot going on as well. Our hero is an ex seal turned catastrophe management agent to the rich and famous in Washington DC. Our heroine is a down-to-earth member of a powerful DC family needing catastrophe management. Ms. Booth does an excellent job of bringing you into the head of her characters and making you feel like you're right there with them.I am definitely looking forward to the next installment in the series, as much if not more to see how the plot unfolds as for the next romance.

4 hot and steamy stars!, I have to say this book had some of the hottest sex I've ever read!, Cole you are dirty, but having said in Hayley you found your partner, not only in love, life but also in the bedroom, this couple sizzled. Loved the dialogue between the pair, the underlying attraction and the alternate POV.
This book was much more than I thought it would be, there was a really gripping underlying story with Hayley's family that had you engrossed with what happens next. The group of men that Cole works with sound intriguing but also complex so I know when their stories come out they will be riveting. Good set of books this and I'm thankful it was in the one volume. Looking forward to reading more.

4.5 Stars....Very Hot!!!

I am in the mood to try out some new authors that I haven;t read and it's been working out just great for me this week!!!! I have read some great new books!

I was dying to read this but I am not into the serial reads unless I can get them in one package, hence, my one-click no brainer decision when this became available!

I loved both Cole and Hailey. They were HOT and the sex was scorching and dirty and had me squirming in my seat:) I loved getting to know everyone in the group (secondary characters) and I am so looking forward to all of these stories in the future!
