To be honest I just want to know what happens to her at the end of the year.

This was one of my favorite months, the appearance of Max in Mia's life was a good surprise.
It was several moments of excitement that gave me several sighs.
This book got more into Mia's family background and it was nice to realize that Max's introduction changed some of the dynamics and enriched the story.

Here I was, thinking I've got it all figured out. I actually thought that by the ending of July. I can tell you, I did not expect this ending. This definitely was a plot twist for me! I really am curious about what will happen during September. ...more

Still immersed in this 12 novella series and I have been enjoying it! This is book #8. I will admit that sometimes I have had to suspend a little belief in reality when it comes to some of the elements. Mia is meeting new characters each month and seems to have immediate life long, soulmate friendships with everyone(Ok I'll believe it for now). Everyone is Rich and powerful. This is the high life...mixed with the low life and for the most part it works because its fun!!

But this was the first mon

I love it with these books that there is a real storyline. Not all are great but it is nice to see it progressing.
I really enjoyed this book as this was not so much focussed on sex but more on friendship family etc. A completely different book than the ones before.

First off, my thanks to the author for the name drop. That's a first for me and I'm honoured and proud for it. Now, I really can't say it again ("it" being my gushing over Audrey's writing and the series), so this will likely be the shortest review of an AC book from me to date.

But, I will give praise for the twist in the story, for boldly going somewhere I never ever would have expected. As if Mia's life couldn't get more complicated, if her emotions couldn't go through more extremes, Audrey to

2.75 stars. The entire time I was reading this I kept thinking that Mia is such a moron. I don't understand how she never pieced together that Max was her brother. She even had a flashback of him when he was younger and said he looks exactly like Maddy. It was utterly frustrating to read. As a reader you want to find out about the plot twist with the protagonist, not before them. ...more

I usually detest serial novellas, but Audrey Carlan’s Calendar girl series has kept me engrossed to the point of counting down the days to each new monthly instalment.

And August hasn’t just arrived, it has exploded onto the scene jam-packed with momentous events and turning Mia’s world on its axis as it sends her emotions catapulting into the vast unknown. A storyline filled with mystery and mayhem, August is definitely an extraordinary tale.

As the series has evolved, Ms Carlan has succeeded in

Really had some issues with this one. The writing over the series has deteriorate. This one is no different and may be the worst yet. There is no surprise to how this installation is going to turn out because it is sooooo predictable. I knew the outcome within the first two pages. Also, there is a line that I find highly offensive in this referring to a person of color who is dressed well. Mia apparently wants to befriend a "sista" simply because she likes her shoes. I have it highlighted and wi ...more

I have to say that Audrey Carlan has done an exception job so far with this Calendar Girl series. Every month it just seems to get better and better and I am loving every single book in this series. the stories of each book are different and they never fail in keeping you entertained and happy. I was particularly very content with August because we learned a lot about Mia and her family. She found out about a family she wasn't awa

I was given this book for my honest review.

Mia's continuing journey takes her to the heart of Texas. What an emotional journey this young woman has been on since her Journey began back in January. She has crisscrossed the United States and has been on one emotional journey after another. The forces that bind Mia are unlike any other book that I have read. The ups and downs that she has been through go above leaps and bounds.

Mia is not just an escort but she is the keeper of souls. S

August (Calendar Girl #8) is the continuation of Mia’s attempt to obtain the money needed to save her father and pay back the loan shark.

This month takes her to Texas where she meets Maxwell Cunningham. Max isn’t just another man to sleep with, but one who is going to change Mia’s whole life...

Let me first say, I love Mia and her journey. She’s evolving wonderfully and July was a very pivotal point in her life. I was not sure that Audrey could make August even better. But alas, she made me cry

Holy crap! I love this series, but this book takes the cake. I was blindsided by this one. Mia has strengthened her relationship with Wes, and then her world changes suddenly. He doesn't want her to keep working as an escort, but Mia is very independent and wants to do this herself. She is off to Dallas to play the long lost sister to an oil tycoon, Maxwell Cunningham. She is quickly taken with his family and grateful for her role as anything but a romantic interest. When things go sideways for ...more

August took Mia to Texas where we meet Maxwell Cunningham. If I could describe Max in a few words they would definitely be "Family Man". Right from the begining, I got the sense that Max cares deeply about those he cares about. As Mia and Max's story develops, it shows that Max has a big heart. The month's installment definitely tugged at my heart strings and threw in a surprise or two! To top it off, Max made me cry! Mia's journey of discovery has taken twists and turns and will hopefully give her the peace that she looking for. The next months will hopefully bring her full circle.

Well....this one really took an interesting turn. I liked what Mia found out, hope it gives her a better foundation in her life. I do worry a bit about Wes and the last bit that Mia found out about her dad. I have a feeling there are going to be big changes ahead for her.

I try not to read each month's synopsis so I'm surprised like Mia as the assignments come in. After the events that transpired in July I'm happy to see that she is playing the part of a sister. However I have to see I totally called this book. As I was reading I just knew how the events would play out. Quite the interesting twist but I like it and I can't see how this saga continues. After July I was really curious which direction this series was going to take and in August we get a glimpse of that and more. In my review of July I mentionedI was afraid this was going to become a bit formulaic, but July took things into a new direction that I was happy with. And August goes even a step further. I really enjoyed the direction this story is going and there's nothing formulaic about this episode, except maybe the fact that she has a new client and is in a different city again.

1 star? 1.5? Lmao.

This is straight up the most predictable thing I've ever read. From the very BEGINNING you know damn well how this is going to end. I'm reading other people's reviews and they're talking about the "amazing" plot twist and I'm actually SHOCKED. I mean all the books are somewhat predictable…but THIS was on another level. How on earth did you not see that coming? The author basically TOLD us. I actually can't believe…

Also, you know what I hate about this seri
I still like the original idea of the series.
Sadly, reading the first two thirds of this installment felt like a complete torture. The last part was slightly better, but still badly written. The language and style of writing could be so much better, but sadly it is getting worse and worse with each month.
Characters are always completely overwhelmed with emotions (sadness, anger, passion and/or happiness), and at the end of each month everything just magically falls into place (acceptance of deca
This book was a good addition to the series, it's different to the other books as it revolves a lot more on family and Mia's lack of. It's actually the most heart warming book I've read in the series so far giving us a glimpse at what Mia could have waiting for her after her year is up.

The main character is Mia and in this book her client is a guy from Texas who needs her to pretend to be his missing sister so that he can claim the majority shares in his fathers company. The book centres a lot m

So interesting! Full of emotion, grief and plot twists. The storyline in this installment is fantastic. Don't miss the first chapter, though. The encounter between Mia and Wes is euphoric (hot, hot, hot). And toe-curling romantic. Fun too. I loved the point their relationship has reached. I feel so optimistic about it!

Mia's assignment this time is to pose as a Texan's missing sister to help him keep his inheritance from ending up in the wrong hands. The whole scenario was superb with the novelty

This month...THIS MONTH! Oh man, August just about did me in. So emotional, so many twists and turns. How Mia continually deals with the craziness that life throws at her is so much fun to read about! She always handles things with dignity and grace.

This month is a game changer for sure. So much happens in such a short amount of time, you wonder how Mia can possibly take it all in. The first cliffhanger of the series! Cliffhanger??? Yes, and it's needed. I am SO excited for the final four month

always an honor and a privilege to read these stories before the public but let me just say that I have bought into these characters and their story and their lives and I wait on pins and needles for the next words that this author writes just like everyone else!!
