3 - "Alaska isn't a place for a woman like you." Stars!

Her Alaskan Hero is the first book I have read by Rebecca Thomas, it’s also the first book in the Alaskan Hero series.

Sabrina finds herself on a flight to Alaska, with only her wedding dress and a suitcase full of bikini’s. Having expected to now be married an on her way to Hawaii for her honeymoon, having her groom leave her a Dear John letter just as she’s about to walk down the aisle, ruins her plans somewhat.

”This isn’t California.”

Y'know, my hubby was born and raised in Alaska. He has mostly horror stories about nothing to do and no real roads to travel unless you're in one of the big cities. But I still have a romantic notion about Alaska and this book only helped to feed it!

I liked Sabrina. She's the daughter of a US Senator and an actress and so she's grown up rich and pretty famous. Somehow though, she wasn't a jerk. She was sweet and kind and earnest. I also liked t
Her Alaskan Hero was an interesting reading experience for me. There were times I'd want to warm up under a blanket, but in other instances some things just didn't work for me. The story opened up with Sabrina, a politician's daughter, being left at the altar by some coward who didn't want to stand up to her father or explain things to her face-to -face. It definitely sucked. I mean, even though he was also doing Sabrina a favor because she was getting married for the wrong reasons anyway, it wa ...more

I'm just not a fan of this heroine. She is kind of judgy when she first meets Zak - and then she gets pushy the first night - I don't know - I just don't like her.

Awesome read. Really connected with the characters in this one. An opposites attraction storyline that worked perfectly.

Sabrina Tate has always lived her life by the rules. Being the perfect daughter for her political father, going to the right schools, marrying the right man - well almost! When her groom to be calls off the wedding on the big day, she can't take anymore so she sets off on an Alaskan adventure! Landing at the family lodge of Zak Forrester could turn out to be the best worst thin
I learnt about this book - and the author - after she was one of the authors involved in the an eReader giveaway organised by her publishers earlier this month. The blurb with the book intrigued me so when I was offered the opportunity to read an ARC of it, I jumped at the chance to do so and I am so glad I did. It is brilliantly written with a doormat young lady becoming a feisty female heroine, developing the guts to defy her parental wishes and start to live her own life on her own terms. Zac ...more

I love stories about women that are able to finally stand up to their parents, spouse, or siblings, after years of being walked all over and/or taken advantage of. Her Alaskan Hero by Rebecca Thomas is all about Sabrina Tate, a young woman who is given the chance to spread her wings and find her own happiness. This is a sweet, yet hot love story that takes place in the small wilderness town of Gold Creek Alaska.

Sabrina has led a privileged life, being the daughter of an an actress and a politic

It’s one thing to have second thoughts on your wedding day – it’s another when your intended groom sends a note calling the whole thing off. Sabrina knows the media frenzy and the family drama that discovering her jilted at the altar will cause. She’s not sticking around to find out. Sabrina is heading to Alaska, totally unprepared in so many ways for the beautifully rugged state – and equally unprepared for Zak.

Zak has become the unofficial head of his family.

If I didn't hate the cold so much, I would move to Alaska! Although as hot as the men sound, it would be plenty warm! Sabrina is from a famous family, so her life is lived in a fishbowl. She has lived her life the way it was scripted for her by her family and never really did anything for herself. On her wedding day she ends up left at the altar and at the encouragement of her best friend, she does something wild and crazy and leaves before anyone can find her. She hopes on a plane and heads to ...more

I started this book and it immediately sucked me in as I love Alaska and everything about it. Ms. Thomas does a wonderful job of describing the Alaskan wilderness and transporting you to the beauty that makes Alaska magical. The storyline moved along at a good speed, and I felt it was a steady paced fun, light love story.

This is a refreshing love story with plenty of heat but also a clean romance. The story had an interesting plot and well-defined characters. Sabrina and Zak were both well-devel

Received this book via NetGalley for an honest review. Rebecca Thomas' story of opposites attracting was an excellent read. Blindsided in an important moment, Sabrina finds herself questioning her choices. Searching for a new direction she winds up in Alaska. Trying to make a success of his business Zak does not have time to babysit out of place optimist. Pessimist Zak is trying to atone for a tragic event from his past. People from different backgrounds is a common theme in romance literature. ...more

Both Sabrina and Zak are likable characters and had me rooting for them shortly after they met. A fun and quick romance, with them only spending a few days together before falling in love. It's well written and the setting is perfect. I've always enjoyed romances set in Alaska, there is something about the isolation that seems to add a little more romance to the story. Can't wait for Zak's brothers to find their other halves!

I received an ARC via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. I

Highly enjoyable read. The one thing that left me a little disappointed was there was build up with sexual tension, but the follow through was just implied. That's my only problem with the book. Otherwise over all is was great. I liked how Sabrina after being left at the alter found her true self with a little help from Zak. I like the people in Gold Creek nice Alaskan community. Though at first glance Zak and Sabrina are pretty opposite that couldn't be more perfect for one another.

An Awesome Book!

I loved reading Her Alaskan Hero(SALASKAN Hero Book 2), all about Zak Forrester a part-owner of the Lodge in Gold Creek Alaska & Sabrina Tate a gifted bride looking for a peace filled vacation away from everybody including her family. Sabrina arrives at the lodge soaked to the gills, wearing a skirt and flip flops with her white button down shirt plastered to her body looking for a room. Zak practically laughs at her and asks her if she realizes she’s in Alaska with the way s

If you like second chance love stories, you'll not only love this book but fall in love with Sabrina and Zak. A well written book with great characters that will have you page turning and wanting more. Lots of drama, emotion, suspense and frustration in this book. Never boring when you have a jilted bride who shows up at a mostly male Alaskan hunting resort with a tropical wardrobe and a broken heart. Not exactly the ideal place to accommodate her love of yoga, vegetarian meals and scrabble. Can ...more

My third read from author Rebecca Thomas, another outstanding sweet HEA romance, maybe the best of the 3 books I've read. If all her writing is this enjoyable and entertaining I'll definitely read more by her.
On my way to Alaska!

If you have ever felt the need to just walk away from an impossible situation then this story allows you to consider the benefits of such a rash decision. Who knows what you might find.

A good read...

Typical love story: boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back. But it was thoroughly enjoyable and I am looking forward to reading Ethan's story.

This book was ok. I didn’t care for the fact that they jumped into bed right after meeting each other! The characters were fun, the storyline was uninteresting.

HER ALASKAN HERO by Rebecca Thomas. Sabrina, has done what she had set out to do. Still having to consult Daddy, when would she be a grown adult, making her own decisions. She's always done what was expected of her. Jilted at the altar, what was she going to do now. Go to where the ratio was in the woman's favor Alaska. Arriving with clothes for Hawaii, and no reservation, and it's hunting for moose season,no rooms. Her sister said to find a hunk of a man in Alaska, that could be Zak. One of the ...more

Loved this book and the characters. Look forward to reading Ethan's story.
Opposites attract is such a fun trope and when the California girl meets the rugged Alaskan guy under less than perfect circumstances the stage is set for a great story. This was a fun, quick read that didn’t have a lot of drama or angst, but was well written and had a great cast of quirky characters. Throw in some competitive scrabble, yoga classes, and a cute puppy named bunny, and there was a lot to love in this book!

I just loved Zak. He was everything you want in your rugged, Alaskan hero. A

This was a cute and quick read. I just wished there was a little more building in the story.

Sabrina was literally “Dear John’d” at the altar. So, embarrassed and a little relieved as she was (she was really marrying Kyle because that’s what she was expected to do not because she loved him), she ran off to Alaska with only her honeymoon clothes that was in the limo paced for Hawaii and flip flops to boot! (Pun intended)

There she meets Zak one of the owners of the lodge her friend told her to go

Sabrina is a good girl! Being the daughter of a State Senator and a movie star, she has done everything her parents want. Including being engaged to the man they want you to marry! But thankfully Sabrina’s fiancé Kyle jilts her at the altar. Which opens her eyes, to what exactly she is doing with her life? So with the help of her friend Melody; whom has a healthy obsession with Alaskan men, she dumps her Hawaii honeymoon and heads to Gold Rush Alaska. But when she gets there things don’t quite g ...more

My Review:
This was a fun, light read. I happened to love the Alaskan lodge setting and thought it was perfect for a romantic setting. I also really loved how different Zak and Sabrina are on the surface. But then they begin to connect and realize that they aren't as different as they first suspected.

Both of these characters are heavily defined by their roles within their families. For Zak, he was the oldest son who took over as head of the family when his father died. He takes that

OMG I loved this book from the first sentence!! This is my first Rebecca Thomas book and I'll be reading more!!

Our story starts with Sabrina Tate on her wedding day. She's ready to marry the man that she's known practically her whole life. Although, she's not sure she's marrying him for the right reason. Does she really love him or is she marrying him because that's what her parents want? She really wishes she could make her own decisions. But, as a senator's daughter she just takes it all in st

Her Alaskan Hero was a sweet read with likable characters and a fantastic setting. Except for the exorbitant prices for groceries (and snow, if you're not a fan--but puh-lease, I'm from Buffalo!), be prepared to want to visit "the last frontier" by the time you're done with this short novel.

I liked that both Sabrina and Zak helped each other fill in what was missing in their lives--Sabrina needed to start making choices for herself, and Zak needed to loosen up and start living--sure, it was a ca

I really loved the feel of this book, Sabrina Tate is waiting to get married to her longtime boyfriend Kyle because it will make her parents happy and just as she is ready to go down the aisle her bridesmaid comes to the door and takes her to the bathroom for some privacy so she can read the letter sent by her fiancé. He has decided it's for the best that they don't get married and he is not coming. Her bridesmaid Melody suggests she get out of town for a while and go to Alaska to the Forrester ...more

Rebecca Thomas enjoys a love-hate relationship with Alaska. She lives there with her husband and sons. When she isn’t reading, writing, or playing board games, she can be found taking long walks in the woods dreaming up her next story.

A reluctant reader as a child, she didn’t become interested in books until her teen years when she discovered historical romance. Now she loves all sub-genres of rom
