Overall Opinion: This book had potential, but unfortunately it fell flat. It was just ok...the term "ok" will probably be a theme in this review. I liked the beginning of the book, and then towards the middle I started to get bored. I liked the premise and the idea of her being with the father of her nephew (is that wrong of me?). I would have liked a little more development for the relationship. I know that the idea was that they were pretty much in love by the time he gets out of priso
I received this as an ARC by an author that is way too bold for me considering that she knows about my snarky reviews. Why she gave me a copy is beyond me. LOL! ANYSNOOCH, on to my review.

"A Lighter Shade of Blue" has to be Shyla Colt's graduation piece. There was just something really different about this book, and I think it has a lot to do with her growth as a writer. You can tell when people are rehashing old shit and when they are working diligently to perfect their craft in a genre. She i

I just read A Lighter Shade of Blue and I really enjoyed it. It's the 2nd in the Kings of Chaos MC series and even though it could be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading Spun first to get a feel for the club and the characters. Plus you'd be missing

Everything from storyline to the characters had me from the get go. storyline had me from the get go. Blue has had it pretty rough we comes to sibling rivalry. Calls her sister is a major bitch! She has basically ruined everything for Blue inc

3.5 stars

These both were good stories but the 3.5 stars comes from what I felt was a rise to a controversy in each book and then within about a chapter all was well. The characters are great as was the storyline so if we had a little more depth into the drama and “issues” when they finally came to a head I would have rated these two books higher.

This is the second book in the Kings of Chaos series and although it can be read as standalone I did find it beneficial having already read Spun, the first book in the series.

I liked this much more than Spun as it was grittier and deep on the emotions. I also loved Blue and Shadow as their characters were well developed and inspiring, especially Blue.

Bluebell Strong has always felt the need to put others first and none more so than he

This is the first book I've read but this author, and I LOVED it! I finished it in one sitting.

Bluebell Strong has been cleaning up her older sister's messes for as long as she can remember, and yet her sister hates her. She's finally living her own life separate from her family, when an emergency comes up. Her sister is going to prison, and the family needs her to take guardianship of her nephew. She's forced to come back home to the Kings of Chaos MC life again to keep her nephews life as norm

Title: A Lighter Shade of Blue

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspense, Erotica
Series or Standalone: Standalone Series (Kings of Chaos #2)
Rating: ★★★★★

What a delightful treat this book turned out to be.

Not only was this an MC book (which I have to admit lately, I have a serious hankering for), but it was also a pretty epic second chance romance on top of it. Two things that were made that much sweeter by the characters whose lives we become a part of as the book begins.

Really liked Bluebells and Shadows story.

But am I the only one noticing that baby Vegas has had a sexchange since the Epilogue in "Spun"!?

And that Blue calls Shannon "Katie" in her debriefing with Shadow!?

I don't mind the spelling and the grammar as long as the story has good flow.
But sexchanges on babies and name changes during the book is just sloppy and disrespectful towards the story...

Great MC series

Bluebell has always been apart of the Kings of Chaos MC despite her older sister constantly causing drama. Blue finally gets the chance to live her dream life when her secret love is released from prison, and her sister is incarcerated. Things don't always go smoothly.

I was a little sceptical to pick this book up because book one had so many editing issues but I am so galf I did. This book was everything I love about MC Books. A sexy as hell H and a strong h. Can't wait to see what the rest of the series holds

Loved this book

New author for me and so far I'm loving this series. Blue and Shadow have loved each other since their teens but a jealous family member managed to keep them apart. 16 years later they finally get together and it's awesome.

This was a great addition to this series by Shyla. Shadow and Blue always had a longing for each other until nastiness robs them of years to be with each other. Great read!

Everything about this book is amazing. I love Shya's writing style it pulled me into the story from the first page and kept me engaged the entire book. The storyline itself was unique and full of twists and turns.

Blue was an inspirational character. Strong, loyal, smart, loving and tough but not without
a vulnerable side. Her devotion to her family even when they didn't deserve it was inspiring. She was everything I want in a character.

Shadow is gritty, mean, cunning, loyal,

I am a huge fan of Shayla Colt. I love the way she has written this series. It’s not a fluffy read. This suspenseful book is dark and gritty which left me emotional so many times. This one really starts off with a bang and it doesn’t stop right up to the very end. The story flows wonderfully and I loved how well developed, inspiring, and strong these characters were.

Bluebell “Blue” has always been submissive with her family, and doing whatever is asked of and of course

“I’m not naive about the men in my life. I know they’re dangerous, but only when provoked. He stirs, and I freeze. I need to put as much distance between us as possible. I have to get my head cleared before he comes home.”

I love a GREAT MC book, and A Lighter Shade of Blue is just the ticket for a summertime MC read. I have not read the first book in this series, but I can tell you, that I will be reading that and any others in this remarkable series as well. Theie is the story of Blue and Shadow.

Bluebell Strong is the younger sister, the dependable one, the one that everyone expects to be perfect in order to offset the train wreck that is her older sister Calla. Both Blue and Calla have grown up in the Kings of
So until this book I was 2 for 2 with this author, sadly even though I was excited for this book there were problems that couldn't be overlooked. First up is at the end of the first book Nevada and Wizard's baby, Vegas, was referred to as a boy. There were 3-5 references in a two page span and it was clearly stated that Vegas was a boy. Second, at the start of this book Bolt, Bluebells nephew, was 16. Six months later when his father gets out of prison Bolt is not 3 months shy of being 18? ... W ...more

This book had everything I expect a great MC romance to have. Bikes, prison, drama, danger, passion, love, protective caveman alpha males, and hot dirty talk. This story was exciting, had a couple twists and turns, and kept me interested the from cover to cover. Shadow has spent a long time trying to get over the lie that cost him what he wanted. Things are different now and he is going to get what he wants this time. He is a strong character who stands up for his club, his son, and now his woma ...more

Shadow <3 He was dreamy!!

Born and raised in the life of the K.O.C; he was a biker through and through. Not only was he a perfect alpha type, he was tender & sweet. He's had his sights on Blue for years but her callous sister got in the way of that long ago. Years pass and he felt Nalley has the chance to step up and stake his claim.

Blue also grew up in the life and is well aware of the biker ways but having a sister like Calla, she's had to take on responsibilities to make up for what her sist

This is the second installment in the Kings Of Chaos series and it didn't disappoint.

This book follows Blue and how she has felt living in the shadow of her wayward older sister Calla. Blue has always felt that she has had to strive to be the perfect daughter in light of sister Calla's rebel ways. Seeking a "normal" life away from the Kings, Blue is in a relationship with a guy that she classes as her bestfriend, but there isn't the spark there that she would like to have.
