Danger ignites a passion neither of them can refuse.

Ava Hill learned early in life that to survive, she has to be twice as smart, twice as ruthless as those who seek to undermine her. And as the widow of a mob boss with a daughter to raise, nothing is more important than protecting what’s hers.

Her determination to shield her child from the ugliness of her past tak

Dirty Little Secrets lured me in with the overview to kind of just make me bored. I have had that for a few books lately and that brings me frustration. I want to love the damn stories! I am a sucker for a good mob, mafia, motorcycle club, and so on book because danger tends to make for an interesting read. This book had decent writing so that really wasn't the problem for me.

I suppose the major problem for me was the plotting of the story and the heroine's attitude. I just couldn't connect with Ava.
When my instincts told me to DNF this at 32%, I should have because it only got more ridiculous as it went along. A man showed up at Ava's door claiming to be her dead husband's son. This is the guy who wound up being the LI. I know they weren't related by blood, but the connection was too close for me to be comfortable with it. Dominic and Ava's relationship developed too fast. She didn't seem like the type to put up with a pushy guy like him. A few men were interested in Ava. I didn't get it. ...more

Recommends it for: Suspense lovers, light mafia lovers, contemporary lovers, and multi-cultural lovers
Review to come. In a couple of days.

Ava Hill learned the hard way that there is no such thing as good men or love. Her deceased husband, a former Cosa Nostra Don, taught her that first hand. To save her father's life for the debts he owed, Ava offered herself to her deceased husband as payment only to become his Goomah and later, wife. After an accident took away her husband, Ava moved on from being the Boss's wife with her daughter. She's a ruthless, take-no-crap business woman with s

I read this writer's collab with popular mafia romance writer Bethany-Kris Gun Moll (Gun Moll, #1) by Bethany-Kris Gangster Moll (Gun Moll, #2) by Bethany-Kris Madame Moll (Gun Moll, #3) by Bethany-Kris , and really enjoyed it. Since that series was Interracial Romance, I expected Erin Ashley Tanner's other titles to have more of the same.

The blurb featured a trope that normally is no-go for me, but enjoyed Gun Moll enough to give it a try anyway. I went into this expecting IR, but the Blonde heroine was too racially ambiguous to fit that lane. I might come back to this later when I'm just in the mood for a mafia
Ava has had been dealt a bad hand in the game of life. She was strong enough to survive her husband and the life he gave her. She finally thinks she is free but even in death her husband's affairs are affecting her. When his illigitame son Dominic demands a portion of his fortune Ava refuses. The only good thing Joseph gave her was the ability to provide for their daughter and she's not gonna let anyone take that away. When circumstances bring them together thoughts of money fly out the window a ...more

This is my second book by this author.

Ava was married to a Mob Boss who was killed leaving her and their daughter . Dominic turns up on her doorstep claiming to be her dead husband's son and he wants his share of the inheritance. Dominic then starts to have feelings for Ava and pursues her. She does not trust him with good reason until he ends up being her protector. She fights him at every turn because of all the reasons they should not be together not least of all because he may be

I hit the 48% mark and couldn't go any further. I found Ava's "I am woman hear me roar and be a bitch to everyone" annoying and Dominic on the slimy side. The dialogue was awkward at times (though Ava's journey's back into her past were well done) and the pacing clunky. I think those who enjoy mob inspired melodramas with lots of sex scenes will enjoy but this one wasn't for me.

A great suspense filled romance with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing on what is going to happen. Very unexpected relationship between the two main characters. Whew, a hot one.

So I'll admit, I'm a fan of mafia romance and I'm also a fan of interracial romance. When you combine these two you can bet I'll want to read it.
Ava is a really strong, successful business woman. She is tough as nails and takes no nonsense. Life has taught her the hard way. As a young girl she offered herself to a mob boss in payment of her father's debt. She went on to become his wife later. Her husband is dead and all she's moved on with her life carving out a career and business for herself.

First book by this author that I have read and it didn't disappoint. Great suspensful,.and lovemaking scenes. I liked that the ending was dragged out that it flowed well with the rest of the book. one of my favorite parts if this book was when vincente told ava that he would try this love thing because he was never shown love or taught how to express but he knows that he needs her and cares for her. Well as the reader you know he is in love with her , but it was good that the author didn't come ...more
