This was a nice book about friends! I really enjoyed Sandra D . Bricker's dialogue, there were plenty of laugh out loud and dare I say shocking moments in this story. My only complaint is that I wish that we got to know the characters in depth a little more. Maybe followed less storylines into each woman's life so you could get tot know them more.

But I still enjoyed the light romance and comedic moments. There are some parts of this story were pretty moving as well. I so wasn't expecting to cry

I don't read a lot of these books about women and their group of special friends. In part that's because they generally try to make me cry, and I find there's enough to cry about in real life I don't need to have it forced on me by books. However, this free offer caught my attention so I gave it a read.

I ended up enjoying this, though, yes, it did make me cry a bit. It is a "Christian" novel, but not everyone in it is a Christian. And there's some reference to married people having sex, so if t

**I received an advanced reader copy of this book for review, but these are my own honest opinions. **

As usual, Bricker did not disappoint with her latest book, Moments of Truth. With an ensemble of female characters, all at different stages in their life, but bound by their friendship, this book is relatable to so many women. The book explores so many topics (love, loss, relationships, family dynamics, etc), with the main theme being the power of female relationships. You will laugh and cry as

Moments of Truth is another great book by Sandra Bricker. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters. The best thing about the book is that you can relate to each of the character traits. The support portrayed by the friends during happy and sad times is exactly how you would want your BFF to relate and care for you. Yet another book that left me sad to come to the end and waiting for the next installment. I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of the book in exchange for my honest ...more

This book was different than the others I have read by this author, but I loved it. The characters were very true to life. They all had their own difficulties and I could really identify with each of them to a certain degree. The friendship between the main characters was wonderful. They were there for each other through ups and downs, no matter what. This was a very special story and I would definitely recommend it.

Disclosure: I received this book free of charge from the publisher. This review is my honest opinion, and is in no way influenced by the author or publisher.

I absolutely loved every minute of this book. It is loaded with emotion. There are many ups and downs, but through it all the friends come together and get each other through their various trials. I would highly recommend this book. It autos be a great book to give your best friend.

This book has five main characters and usually I am not a fan of some many because you usually can not keep up with everything thats going on, however in this book that is not the case at all. The author did such an amazing job telling each story and letting the stories flow together so well. The storyline is also so well written you find you self more or less feel like you are watching a movie or a really good tv show. The story is nothing like I have read from this author. The story its self h ...more

Bricker’s novel is full of friendship and surprises, as well as a healthy dose of love and romance. Although Celia’s dialect can be a bit annoying to read, it can be overlooked for this delightfully fun story. Fair warning, there’s a slightly higher amount of romantic heat than is in most inspirational novels, although it is all handled tastefully.
After her divorce, Reagan Sloane is looking to put her life back together. She started a blog called Moments of Truth, which has steadily ga

Friendship so strong you forget it's fiction

This amazing book tells the stories of five women in different stages of life each facing their own challenges. As readers, we get to eavesdrop as they bond weekly over dessert at their book-less book club and then support each other every day in between. With a beautifully-balanced mixture of laughter and tears, the "girls" point us to the moments of truth in our own lives and leave us hoping for friends like these.

Take interactions slightly reminisce

Moments of Truth by Sandra Bricker is full of memories in the making between five very unique women. Their bond of friendship woven throughout the story reveals their love and respect for each other. Their commitment to meet weekly for dinner and dessert strengthens their chord of friendship as they share their heartache and happiness. Relatable and relevant, I found the characters familiar to those of my own sisters and friends. I truly enjoyed this book and really hope there will be sequels to ...more

*I received a galley of this book, but this review is my honest opinion:
Moments of Truth is aptly named as you follow the characters through the ups & downs of life. With characters that are relatable and well developed the reader is drawn into a group of friends and captivated by a range of emotions from sadness to laughter to cravings for some seriously delicious desserts!

This is a different type of book for Ms. Bricker and, like her other books, it did not disappoint. It's about real women, real problems and real friendships and I could relate in so many ways. I look forward to reading it again.
Sweet, with some twists

Most of the twists were foreshadowed, but not until the chapter before. Just long enough to ask if it would or wouldn't, then allow a satisfying (or sad) yes, it did.
There were some formatting issues, and a few times it was difficult to ID the point of view, but the story overshadowed all of that.
Overall, an enjoyable night's read.
The women in this story are an unlikely group, as they didn't have much in common to expect that they would have met each other. However, maybe the book club (that no longer reads books) was the catalyst that brought them together. There is humor and sorrow, gain and loss, romance and breakups, but through it all, their friendships endure. While there is nothing explicit, this novel is a little more steamy than most Christian romances.

This was a really enjoyable book about five women who meet weekly for a book club---except they don't talk about books but about their lives. We read about each of the five women and their stories but Regan was the main character. She was a divorced woman, who blogs about her book club friends and soon finds herself in an unexpected romance. Abby is a new Christian who's decided to remain celibate until marriage but then meets a man who seems to test her newfound resolve. Iris is a married empty ...more

Not one of Bricker's better books - she tries to cram too many characters into this story and it falls flat. I think it would have been much stronger if she'd just focused on two characters (they could still be in the book group, and she could still talk about other events). I also felt there were far too many meaningless details - especially about food (but not quite enough to qualify it as a foodie novel) - but also things like conversations with waitresses. Lastly, there were several things a ...more

Disclaimer: I received an advance copy to review and this review is my honest opinion of the book.
Moments of Truth touched me in a way I never expected. In this story about five women friends, you hear about their individual lives that converge every week for a sharing time (that includes chocolate so you already know). They are best friends. A group of woman that seemingly have nothing in common. They are different ages, different races, different places in life, and yet they are very close kn

The thing I loved about this book was the relationships the girls have with one another. They are there for each other through life's and up and downs. This is a great example of what kind of friends we should be. There are five main characters in the story which made it difficult to follow at times and felt disjointed as just as you were getting to one event with one character it jumped over to another character. There were some characters I connected with more than others. Other than the girls ...more

Have you ever had a regular meet-up with a bunch of your girlfriends where you can just be yourself? No airs, no fronting, just keeping up with each other's lives and holding each other accountable? This book reminded me how much fun that was and how much I miss it. If you have never had that sort of experience, this book might inspire you to start a "book club" of your own. Sandra Bricker nails it as her characters work their way thru love, death, growing old, their careers and their craziness. ...more

What could be better than reading about five powerful women in different stages of life, yet having one thing in coming and that is being BFF's. This is the cord that holds these BFF's together. Sandra D. Bricker has wonderfully mastered the task of weaving for lives together are bound by friendships that withstand the test of time. From a failing marriage, a blended family, to one being single again..You can't help but laugh and cry with these five strong women. I don't personally know how she ...more

I loved this book. I laughed, I cried and laughed again. This book to me was a realistic portrayal of friendships. There is a little crazy, a bit of tears and a lot of laughter. I enjoyed the twists and turns this book took as it navigated through the complexities of marriages and singles falling in love. These five friends are so different in their careers, ages and race but their book club that has very little to do with books and more to do with deserts has brought them together in an unbreak ...more

This is a completely different book from the ones I've read of Sandra's, but it has the tenderness and love that her other books have. This book reminds me of Mary Alice Monroe's book The Book Club, the only difference is that the women in Sandra's book follow Christ so the content and spirit of the book are completely different. The women in the book are a tight knit of friends who hold each other up in difficult times and rejoice in the good times. It is a fun and inspirational book, with laug ...more

This book was different from other books that Sandra Bricker has written, and it did not disappoint. The title of the book is perfect as each of the main characters and their friendships are very relatable. Friendship is not always pretty or perfect and Sandra has done a phenomenal job portraying how true friendships have their twists and turns. I also appreciated the realistic approach to how the characters were at different places when it came to their faith. Not all journeys are the same and t ...more

I loved this book. Good friends help each other in good and bad times and remain strong friends.
Ms Bricker is one of the best writers in Christian fiction I have read, but this book takes her over the top.
The women is this book could be anyone. They know they can call each other and that is my wish for any one reading this book. To have a friend that no matter the time of day or night call your BFF and bring a gooey dessert and help each other.

This was a wonderful picture of the friendships ofwomen and how it impacts their lives. It reflected the challenges and moments of opportunity in our lives and what can be made of them with the love, support and encouragement of other women. Blended families, stay at home moms, single women and women with less than ideal marriages are all included . Be honest doesn't this describe alot of the women you know?
