Sam is M.I.A. for work, so Geoff and Chris have time to think about their own relationship as well as put it in context with their relationship(s) with Sam. Not an easy task after a lifetime of close friendship and background histories that also leave them doubting themselves in some ways. Their conclusions are hard-fought and hard-won, and, as is the way with life, still a work-in-progress as the story leads into Book IV next month.
In some ways the introspection is classic Joey Hill. Individual soul-searching and honest if difficult communication contributes to their testing of boundaries, and there is understandable confusion, anger, hurt feelings and restarts as the two find their way. On the other hand, this is also a much more subdued Joey Hill than this reader is accustomed to. There is a healthy dose of angsty-type thoughts and behaviours for both Geoff and Chris, and yet that is not truly fair, because the worries and reflections each experiences are hardly trivial. Given the process of discovery that is the core of this story for all three, their complicated relationship and testing their place(s) within the lifestyle, I must give-way to this kinder, gentler approach. But a part of me misses the intensity and the edginess and the core-deep, visceral experiences that are usually a Hill read.
Another part of me has to admit that I have had trouble warming up to Chris as a part of this triad, and yet again, to analyze the story honestly, it is difficult enough for two people to come to a working relationship never mind the next-level complexity that three individuals add, and I can't even pinpoint my...stand-back reaction to Chris...never mind imagine negotiating the whole writing concept.
Make no mistake: this is an excellent exploration of a new relationship that also involves a learning curve within a burgeoning D/s dynamic. I don't think this publisher-driven serialization of books in any way helps most stories unfold as the author would have them do, and so I await what we assume is the gelling of the complete relationship, in next month's instalment. I think I might re-read the first three Parts together and then delve into Part IV right after, so it reads as one complete story for me, as both the gods and the authors intend a book should be read.

Oh FFS, this is friggin' brilliant!
Geoff and Chris remember their childhood/growing up together; remember all the events which cumulated in this story; remember that they actually love each other - and not just in a brotherly way.
One can see how Geoff is hesitant to show so much of his Dom side; and how much Chris instinctively knows how much he can take from Geoff - although he questions most things. But the link between them is almost instinctive: OK they make mistakes, but that is to be expected.
Psychologically, they are on the same plane, but coming from different directions - which is absolutely entrancingly sexy!!
And the welcome home they make with Sam is so ***phew*** hot.
I love this story about bisexual men - it encompasses most of the questions anyone could raise; but also covers their feelings/reactions in a 'gay' situation.

Beautifully written, shockingly tenderly told in only Joey's way, of two best friends becoming lovers. Part III of the Naughty Wishes is even better then the first two. The emotional wants, needs, and worries tore these two friends down and than back up, to become stronger people, better lovers, and more manly then unbelievably possible. But the unbelievably impossible is possible when you have the love that Geoff and Chris have for one another, and the love they have had for years of one another. Joey has the style of writing that draws you into the middle of the story, into the middle of her characters, and you get swept away. You can't help it, you can't stop yourself, and you can't stop dreaming of these characters coming to life, and taking you away with them. Beautiful!

Fantastic! Naughty Wishes Part III: Mind takes us into the dynamics between Chris and Geoff. I think the physical was easier for them then the mental and emotional and Joey W. Hill does an absolutely fantastic job of taking them and by extension us through it with class and sensitivity. The sex is hot but the love is hotter. A fantastic addition to this serial.

Ms. Hill’s writing doesn’t hold me in thrall like it used to - I think her writing style of slow, deep introspection about the subtleties of BDSM relationships is wonderful for people new to the concepts. I do still enjoy her writing though. This is a good serial, and it was satisfying to watch the trio find their way together. I really liked that this was not a menage with the two men only pleasing the woman, instead it was a true triad, with all three mixing it up.

I really like Chris. I don't know why they can't work out a dynamic where Sam and Geoff just do BDSM stuff with each other, and have vanilla sex with Chris.

Review for Naughty Wishes 1-4 by Joey W. Hill
I’m reviewing all four parts of the Naughty Wishes series by Joey W. Hill in this one review, so please keep that in mind. I will keep details vague to prevent any major spoilers.
Samantha, Geoff, and Chris are roommates. They’ve formed a close bond and have become a unit. The truth of things is that their is an attraction that runs deep between the three of them. This book follows their journey as they stumble through the growing pains of transforming their platonic friendships into lovers. The added complication is that they all love each other and have the desire to keep their unit whole.
I absolutely love this series. Samantha is so giving and loving. Tired of dropping subtle hints to Geoff and Chris, she took matters into her own hands and left Geoff no doubt what she wanted from him. It took a lot courage and I completely respect her for that. She’s a strong character, especially taking on the strong personalities of the two men she loves and helping them to not only claim their love for her, but also their need for each other.
Geoff, holy dominant Batman! Talk about hot, hot, hot. He’s a strong character and demands submission from Samantha — which she is more than happy to give. He understands what a gift it is and cherishes her like he should. The hiccup is that he also wants submission from Chris who has a desire to submit, but can’t get over the hang up that it’ll make him seem weak. Watching Geoff tread the rough waters of both parts of their triad and grow as not only a dominant, but a man and lover made it impossible not to fall in love with him.
Then we have Chris who is a bit of a question mark. Finding where he fit into their three-way love wasn’t as simple. He had a hard time wrapping his head around Samantha’s need for full submission to Geoff, not to mention wrapping his head around his own hidden desires to submit to Geoff’s will. I think watching him go through this journey was the most fulfilling. He had the most growing to do as a character and the author wrote his character in a way that you could feel every single emotion he had throughout the book.
The polyamorous relationship that these three characters share is beautiful. There is a perfect balance of push and pull during the story and each novella leaves you in a place where you can’t wait to dig into the next. Four Stars for storyline and Five Drenched Panties.
Reader Beware: This book may cause spontaneous combustion! The smut is phenomenal and you’ll be a melted puddle of lust with each one. Types of scenes: M/F, M/M, M/F/M, F/M/M.

Leave it to Joey Hill to pull out all the stops in the third part of her Naughty Wishes serial, Mind. The title is fitting as we get to penetrate deep into the minds of both Geoff and Chris as they navigate their relationship while Samantha is away on business. They’ve come to terms with their relationship being a ménage, but the dynamics between Geoff, a true Dom, and Chris, clearly NOT a sub, is explored in depth here. Geoff has known he was bisexual for a long time, but Chris has never allowed himself to go down that path despite clearly being attracted to Geoff. The dilemmas that have to be worked out between these two are therefore twofold, both in terms of sexual orientation AND kink.
I’ve known that Joey Hill could write INCREDIBLE sex between two men for years. There is no shortage of that here. The chemistry between Geoff and Chris burns up the pages and the build-ups are almost as good as the acts themselves. These are two strong men who don’t compromise, but Chris finds himself willing to hand control to Geoff in a way all his own. I found the dialog between them to be fascinating and incredibly genuine. It’s heart-wrenching at times, but never sappy or contrived, and always with a tinge of testosterone. I appreciated getting Sam out of the picture except by phone during this installment. She has a few cameos, but this is really a male-male focus. Geoff and Chris deserved their time to hash out their emotions. In my opinion, this is the most exciting and charged section of the total story so far. Highly recommended and a beautiful set-up for Sam’s return in the finale, Soul.

Joey W. Hill continues her mastery of striking the balance between eroticism and emotion, she shows how beautiful these relationships are as they develop, the trials and the struggles, as well as the depth of feelings from each of the three characters. This story shows us Geoff and Chris, their past, and their present, as they strive for a future together. Will the Dominant be dominated, a truce be called or will love conquer them all? I love how Chris discovers and reveals himself in this series, Logan calls people like Chris enlightened, not needing to label himself but is truly a switch. Enjoying dominating Sam, while submitting occasionally to Geoff, all on his own level, swaying between these sides, only as he sees needs and desires that he wants or must fulfill in himself and in the two he loves. It is a beautiful process to watch this trio evolve, and Hill is at the top of her game in this new series.

Joey W. Hill wrote one of my favorite M/M romance novels: Rough Canvas. Since her M/M books are few and far between, I couldn't wait to read Naughty Wishes Part III: Mind as that is Geoff and Chris's part. Sadly, it didn't meet my expectations. There's not much I can say to elaborate. Months have passed since I read it. I couldn't write a proper review now even if I tried, but I did write a few thoughts about the whole series here.

June 6, 2017Wow just Wow. Naughty Wishes Part 3 is Geoff and Chris's story. Together they go beyond white hot all the way to incendiary! Joey Hill's in depth exploration of the feelings of lust, anxiety, angst, jealousy, self realization and love between these two lifelong friends was magnificent. Their sexual experiences were sensual, virile, masculine and erotic but the underlying tender love between the two came shinig through.

Hot. Focused on the two guys' relationship which was interesting to see. Usually in threesomes there's a lot of focus on the men's relationship with the woman, (when it's two men and one woman) and this installment was solely focused on Chris and Geoff's relationship and history. I liked that aspect of it, seeing their interplay without Sam.

So hot, Joey W. Hill is a master at eroticism, m/m, m/f/m, phone sex,and the emtions all if it can trigger… She lures you in and you have to remember to breathe. Geoff and Chris are finally confronting their desires for each other and how that all fits with their relationship with Sam. Emotional and sensual, can't wait for Part IV.
