Audiobook review
Goodness me poor Kat she only wants a weekend break and what does she get! Mayhem.
A good audiobook that keeps the listener hooked.
What’s going to happen next between strange visitors & then there’s the protestors. Never mind the break in a remote mountain lodge.
The narrator as always on these audiobooks did a great job & keeps the already alive tale going along at a good pace.
Great all round addition to the other Kat books to read or listen too

This review is written after listening to the audio version of this book.

This was yet another great adventure written by the talented Colleen Cross featuring Kat and Jace. Kat seems to be able to find a mystery whatever she's doing and this time it's whilst she and Jace are in the mountains to enjoy a weekend getaway.

Jace had planned to do some work on a biography of a billionaire but then he's told that he will only be a ghostwriter, not the author. When he first heard this he wanted to call the whole thing off but Kat talked him into staying for the weekend because she wants to explore the area. While they are on their way there they came across some protesters who are protesting about a local mine, which had caused the contamination of the local drinking water. They want the source of the contamination to be cleaned up, somehow Kat becomes involved. Whilst exploring in an area she had been told to stay away from she meets two local protesters and finds herself staring down the barrel of a gun. She does, however, get them to lower their gun and begins to ask questions...

Shortly after that conversation, there is an avalanche which kills the two protesters and almost kills Kat too. Kat begins to investigate, was the avalanche really an accident or was it more sinister?

I don't want to say anymore because it would spoil a really good story but what I will say is the story flows well and is narrated really well by Petrea Burchard.

I was given a copy of this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

I enjoyed this book. This is book four in the Katerina Carter Fraud Thiller and I had heard the previous books and enjoyed them so thought I would give this one a go to. Glad I did. I liked the novel way of commiting the murder and was hooked from the start as to how Kat and Jace would survive their get away. The story was cleverly done and it kept you guessing as to who was really behind it all and I didn't see the twist coming.
This time it is Jace who is working while on holiday and Kat is along for the ride. Jace has been invited to a secluded mountain top lodge to write the biography for a billionaire. But things don't start out well as apon arrival they are met by environmental activist blocking there way, the locals are up in arms over the contaminated water supply. Then the deal struck between Jace and the Billionaire isn't what he thought it was and Jace just wants to Chuck it all in and go home. Kat is the one to talk him around and stick it out, a decision she soon regrets when she gets caught in an avalanche and stands helpless by while a couple aren't so lucky. Was it an accident like everyone thinks? Kat doesn't think and begins to investigate. The problem is she is stuck in the middle of nowhere and is reliant on her host for her way home, so does she really want to stick her nose where it isn't wanted?
I like the narrator and thought she did a great job with all the voices she used to make this an enjoyable story. I highly recommend this book.

Welcome back fellow readers and the next in the instalment of our favourite heroine Kat Carter.

I am loving the diversity this series is bringing me, each case is always that little bit different, the cast of characters is always fresh and interesting and even the staple people in the stories you know and love have yet another angle to learn about.

This tale leaves you shivering and I had no idea an avalanche could be the prime suspect in a murder, except it’s not that would be silly but the shadowy people involved very much are in the frame.

Having been to Vancouver a couple of times I like hearing of places I’ve visited or not places I want to go.

once again the minor roles in this story play as big a part of this story as the main ones do and achieve the aim of fleshing out a snowy wilderness.

Just when I think the series has reached an end, Colleen pulls another blinder out the bag of tricks .

Once again we welcome back our resident and brilliant narrator Petrea Burchard, who does an excellent job of weaving this chilly thriller.

This has been book three in the increasingly popular series but as I’ve found each can work well as a stand alone with only maybe minor throwbacks to the other books in the series.

I can’t recommend this series enough, I have enjoyed each one as much as the last.

Oops she did it again! Ms Cross has presented us with another Kat Carter thriller. Thanks to Kat's naturally suspicious mind, she uncovered a massive fraud. I'd never have thought forensic accounting could be so fascinating, or so dangerous. The only downer for me is Jase. He always doubts Kat, questions her perceptions and is incredulous at the things she discovers. Has he not realised that she's always right and he's always wrong? About time Kat ditched Jase and found a partner who'd offer up their 100% support without hesitation. This was probably the most dangerous case Kat's been involved in, I hope she gets some down time after this. I did miss Uncle Harry! I love his character and Ms Burchard's voicing of him is absolutely spot on. I look forward to seeing him again in book 5, if there is a book 5, and I really, really hope there is, because this is a great series, which I recommend to all

I have enjoyed the Katerina Carter Fraud books. They are intelligent and thought-provoking. The problem I have with them is that there's a lot of info dumping, which I can understand since we have to understand what is going on and most of us are not that informed about fraud. As well, Ms Cross has the habit of repeating things that have happened. Now, some of that is due to Kat thinking about what has happened after the fact, but it does get a bit irritating at times. Having said that, overall, I've quite enjoyed the books.

This one takes place at a mountain retreat of an environmentalist who has asked Jase to write his biography. Kat is left at loose ends for the weekend getaway while her boyfriend works. Soon she finds herself embroiled in environmental protests around an old mine and contaminated tailing pond. Can she figure out what is going on before the weekend is over, and before something goes wrong?

I listened to book 3 and book 4 back to back. Sometimes when I do that, I get bored with the characters, but not in this case.

Katerina is getting pretty unlucky now. This is her second trip for pleasure in this series, and sadly the first trip on the yacht last time out didn't go too well. Well, it'll come as no surprise that her trip accompanying Jace to a luxury mountain lodge doesn't go quite as planned either!

No uncle Harry this time, and Jace is a bit of a pain - he always seems to be so enamoured with his hosts that he doesn't pick up on the clues that they're usually as dodgy as can be.  Kat doesn't though, and despite Jace never really believing her suspicions, she's not one to let a little mountainside avalanche danger get in the way of uncovering a good mystery, especially when environmental catastrophe threatens!

Another great read (or listen) from Colleen Cross!

Greenwash was my introduction into the world of the Katerina Carter thrillers. I really liked it and now want to go back and listen to the whole series from the beginning! It also works perfectly as a standalone.
A weekend leisure trip to the Rocky Mountains quickly turns into a life and death investigative adventure for Kat. She stumbles upon a successful cover-up of a previous natural disaster and immediately tries to figure out who is set to gain from it and what exactly the endgame is. She has her work cut out for her: it’s a time sensitive task and her life depends on it!
This is a fast-paced story narrated brilliantly by Petrea Burchard. I’m looking forward to listening to other books by Colleen Cross as well.

Never trust a former green activist who did more than just make a profit. Self absorbed boyfriend contracts with said billionaire allegedly to write a book about him under the career journalist's name but finds out otherwise. Kat supposedly goes along for a vacation, but it turns deadly when a couple who are protesting shady business practices are killed in a supposedly spontaneous avalanche. And then things really get messy! Aside from wanting to toss the boyfriend under the bus, I was riveted by the story and the characters.
Petrea Burchard is the perfect voice actor for this book.
I won a free audio copy in a giveaway without expectations.

Colleen Cross delivers another suspenseful story but this time with a little bit of romance. Katerina and Jace are thrown into a case. They have to work together to figure it out. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Jace and Katerina. It added to the suspense I have come to love in this series. Jace adds another element to the story that really grabbed my heart this time. I enjoyed this book and look forward to learning more about Jace.

Petera Buchard was great in this narration. Petrea was able to bring the characters to life. Once again, the suspense was brought out through the narration. I enjoyed the consistency that Petrea brings to the entire series.

Another gem by Colleen Cross, I actually felt like I was in the snow capped hills with Kat Carter! An interesting mystery develops when Kat's boyfriend is commissioned to ghostwrite a biography for a rich billionaire. All is not what it seems in the environmentalists domain as the first thing Kat and Jase encounter is a protest. As always, Kat manages to find herself drawn into a fraud investigation and is determined to get to the bottom of what is really going on. Excellent narration by Petrea Burchard.

Another great chapter in Katrina and Jade’s world of financial fraud and journalism. This time Katrina is taking some time off as they visit an environmentalist but in typical Katharine style there is soon a story to be found. I love these books and was not disappointed although I missed Kats uncle in this one.

Lives of the Rich and Famous

Another riproaring adventure in technocrime, money laundering and overall badness, with a twist of James Bond skiing across the Alps. The key action takes place in about 24 hours so not a lot of sleep happens as Katrina strives to save the environment--and her life! Lovingly narrated by Petrea Burchard.

Another great book about Kat and Jace. If you’ve met these 2 before you’ll already know that Kat is tenacious and won’t let go of something until she gets to the bottom of it. Be prepared for a bit of a mad ride.

This is a well written murder mystery novel with plenty of intrigue. The pace is just right to keep you glued to the expertly narrated twisting plot as it unfolds to reveal a double murder and deception. The central characters are wonderful making this a great listen.

Another good one. Although this book was not as gripping and full of suspense as the other i’ve listened to it was good and i enjoyed it. It was something a bit different to the intense financial intricacies of before but i found it quite actual and relevant.

This is the fourth book in the series, and this time Kat and her annoying boyfriend, Jase, go for a weekend break in the mountains. But things never go as planned and once again Kat is thrown into a murder mystery and uncovers another fraud. The book is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I did miss Uncle Harry though, and hope he will be back in the next book.

Petrea Burchard does her usual fantastic job narrating the book

Bonne série haute en couleurs !
Mise au vert
Roman

Colleen Cross is a very talented writer. Green Wash is the fourth great story in the Katerina Carter Fraud series.
This time focusing on Jace Katerina boyfriend who is a journalist and hired write the biography environmental billionaire. Katerina still somehow find trouble.
I love the whole lot of these books. All can be read as a series or standalone. Colleen just draws you in and lead you down a path where you don’t know were you going to end up.
If you love mysteries thrillers without swearing nor in-depth gory details of violence this book is for you.
Petrea Burchard did an excellent job narrating this story. She handled both the male and female voices well and really brought all the characters to life.

No. Didn't feel any of this. Why she was where she always showed up. Why things happened just right. Just no. Didn't buy into this one.

And then there were these types of errors - "I've never written an entire book before, let alone an autobiography for a famous billionaire." That would be a biography. This was before he found out about the ghost writing.

And then they couldn't use the truck to get into town and had to go by snowmobile, but then they were able to use the truck to get into town.

There were just too many "huh?" moments.

I love this series and this instalment was no different - the narration is spot on, the stories are fabulous and the heroine is right up my alley!
I hope there are many more volumes!
She could do with a new bloke, mind - he got somewhat annoying over time.
Other than that another exciting financial adventure for Kat!
