Maybe 1 star is a little harsh, but I don't like the overall structure at all and think it is badly written (stylistically). Besides several unnecessary repetitions I find the sentence structure to be cumbersome. I don't mind complex sentences when there is a complex thought behind it, but in this case I think it is just bad style.
I wouldn't have finished the book if I wasn't interested in Wallraff, i.e. his historical impact on German society and on other European countries. I think he is an important part of German history, whether you like him or not. But there is justified criticism regarding his work (methods) and I would have liked to read about this in more detail - would make the biography more 'balanced'.
