I'm honored to be the first reviewer! I've been a fan of Kristi Ayers since I read her debut novel, One Petal Flower. I knew I'd never be disappointed when it came time to dig into any of her future work, and I was most definitely not when I finished Nev! A completely different element than her first paranormal story, Nev tells the realistic tale of a typical, yet feisty young lady dealing with atypical life situations. First, she has an adopted cousin who grapples with his feelings for her, to ...more

Nev is a book I thoroughly LOVED. The author created characters that invoked feelings from me, and if an author can do that then they are a success. Nev is a book with alternating point of views, which in my opinion really makes a book delve deeper into the story than if it was just from a single point of view. Nev is a sixteen-year-old girl who basically is the "mom" in the family since her mother died five years ago. She lives with her dad and older brother, and pretty much keeps up the house ...more

will be honest with you all..this book has a touch of darkness to it in my opinion. Kristi touches on some subjects that will make some uncomfortable reading. HOWEVER, she did a great job at showing how with the right people in our lives we can still move forward.

Nev is a young girl that has lost her mother an has taken it upon herself to be daughter & care giver to her father & brother. Her Uncle along with his wife & their son Cameron live just next store. Her bond with

Nev is not leading a regular teenage life. Her mum passed away leaving her, her older brother Brock and father behind. Nev stepped into her mother’s shoes and has been taking care of her brother and father ever since.

Cameron, Nev’s adopted cousin is her best friend. He enjoys tormenting Brock with her, watching movies and generally just hanging out together. Cameron and Nev have a special bond, one that Cameron is starting to question.

Even with the closeness between famil

I was so excited when I heard this author released another book. I loved Kristi's debut novel One Petal Flower and knew this book was going to be just as amazing and you know what, I was right. Nev is the perfect mix of young adult, angst, young love and a bit of darkness. Once I started reading I was sucked into the void of a great story and characters. Nev and her cousin Cameron have grown up together and are best of friends. Cam has always been there for her, especially after her mothers deat ...more

5/5 Stars!

I received a free autographed copy of this book in exchange for an honest review thanks to the First Reads giveaway program.

I fell in love with this story. I seriously haven't read a Young Adult novel this good in a long, looong time. My heart broke for Nev. I could not put the book down - not once - until I got to that perfect happy ending.

There were a few editing errors that went overlooked, but the story was so good, I'm not even mad. This book wa

I won this book in a good reads first reads giveaway. The book was a quick and easy read. It's a book that is acceptable for a teenager to read, but yet still interesting enough as an adult I wasn't bored. There is some adult content that parents may want to consider before allowing their teen to read it, but I feel that really it would allow for an open discussion on what can happen. It also highlights areas that parents should talk to their teens about (date rape, morning after pill, etc.) I w ...more

Nev is so lucky to have a caring cousin that has been there her whole life. I like that her brother doesn't wear pants, ever. lol. Her situation is hard for anyone, let alone feeling like she did for her adopted cousin. Glad her brother and cousin are there for her through her trying times. Must read, I can't say much more other than you MUST read to see what happens. Very well written and I hope to see more from this author!

I loved this story! Yes it does go to some very dark subjects, but thank goodness the love of family prevails. This is my first read of Kristi Ayers, but won't be my last. Awesome writing. Can't wait for the next story.

Her adopted cousin, Cameron, never one to let her shoulder the burden, often comes over to help her. He's gotten so used to her company, witnessing her humorous pranks on her brother and watching favorite movies together, that when she begins dating, he becomes protective.
