Mail Order Human #1

Alien's Innocent Bride

Rate this book
A sci-fi alien paranormal shifter romance.

Desperate to escape war-torn Earth, Tara submits an application to Mail Order Human, a company that specializes in matching young women with alien males from distant planets. She’s excited when her application is accepted, but as she boards the Starship Matchmaker, reality sets in and she can’t help but worry. She’ll never see her home planet again, and there’s no guarantee her new alien mate will treat her kindly.

Not long after she’s dropped in the wilderness of a strange world, a huge beast of a man chases her down, claiming he’s her mate and she belongs to him. He actually thinks he owns her after paying Mail Order Human’s exorbitant fee for an otherworldly bride. Oh, like hell! One way or another, she’ll escape the big, muscular alien.

The chase is a tradition in Sev’s culture, and he’s angered to discover Mail Order Human didn’t educate Tara about his people. After a series of mishaps, the spirited human softens and he thinks he’s won her over, and though the animal in him hungers to take her roughly, he’s gentle and patient with her during her first time. But the next morning, he awakens to discover she’s run away, and he senses her distress in the forest below. Though her rejection stings, he bounds into the forest, determined to save her. Will he manage to win her heart once and for all? Or will the stubborn human still insist on returning to her home planet?

3.5 ALIEN/SHIFTER STARS

“Mine,” he snarled, panting. “My Tara.”
"How do you know my name?”
"You are my mate, little human, and I’ve come to claim you.”

Basically, the story goes like this. Heroine, Tara, must leave planet earth, so she registers for the Human Mail order Bride program. She is a virgin, so she find a male who is looking for a mate to have a family with while he guards the mountains of his planet.
Now, this story was too short and it had too few details for me.
It has some sweet and hot mating scenes but mostly it was just a disjointed story that made very little sense and was not very engaging.
It was a meh or blah read for me.

I still enjoy the Mail order bride storyline and that's why I gave it 3.5 stars. But it was more of a 2.5 star read.
Got to give it credit for originality and those are some hot mating scenes.

Worth a read but not a keeper for me.
Safety is perfect without any issues at all. I even think the hero might be a virgin based on the things he said. But not sure so don't quote me on that.

I could read absolutely anything that includes an alien and a bride from earth.
This is one of my weaknesses concerning Sci-Fi romance.

This book is super short, super cute and super predictable.
I suppose this is its purpose and it is spot on.

It also has some shifters' books' elements (mating ritual, shifting, “mine mine mine” etc.)

I do love me some mail order bride stories!

This was ok - probably a little to short - but it was a fun read. It was free on KU - so worth the price.

Totally safe.

First read by this author and first in series.

Cover pretty much sums this super short little novella up. Having said that it’s starts with a good plot basis... just a real shame it’s sooo so short.

Tara lives on an Earth that is almost destroyed and it's a tough life for anyone. Now a group of men are after her, she doesn't say why in the beginning. She signs up to be a mail order bride to an alien race. Before she signs on the dotted line they explain to her that the aliens aren't all that nice and she will be considered property, used for breeding...She agrees to this. When she gets to the planet she doesn't care for being property and wants to go back to Earth.

Nobody kidnapped her, she signed her life over. Then she gets annoyed with this guy after like a minute, playing the victim about something she knew about. I got to chapter 2 and decided this heroine was not for me.

Tara is running away from criminals who were responsible for her parent's death. She signs up with a company called Mail Order Human that finds single women willing to take on an alien mate with no guarantees as to how she would be treated. She is given no details of where she is going. When she gets to the alien planet she has a shock. She wants to leave and her alien partner is determined to make her stay. A good story dealing with how somebody might come to terms with a world they know nothing about.

Allen's Innocent Bride

I really enjoyed this book. It has a little bit of everything..danger, shifters, second chances, fear of the unknown, handsome alien and love with good healthy sex. Highly recommend this series to those who like the paranormal.

This book was short and sweet. I enjoyed learning about Tara and the situation on Earth in this world. I also enjoyed the alien world that she finds herself in. Her situation was harsh but I was glad she managed to get away from the danger and find herself a good alien man. Fun read.

NSFW this particular author seems to be a one trick pony with the story lines. All the books I have read so far have humiliation, penetration, and dominant men who enjoy spanking. It is a quick read to occupy your time for a few minutes.

I enjoyed this sci-fi novella. It felt like it could have been an introduction to a new series with all of the world building, descriptions and details about this alien world as well as the mail order human brides service.

Another short, fun story

Although this is the first story in this series, it's actually the second one I've read. It delivers just what it promises, a short, fun story.

Good

Short but sweet. Characters background and history are briefly written about. The human mail order bride company has some real issue in not informing the bride's were they are going. But it is a cute romantic story

Tara Wagner has signed on to be a bride with the Mail Order Human company to escape Earth and find a new life and identity. She gets her wish when she's accepted and carted off and dropped off in a remote forest on a strange planet with no idea what her future holds.

Sev has finally raised enough money to pay the bride price choosing an Earth female who is still a virgin. In the tradition of his planet he will hunt and capture her then bring her to her new home as his mate. Confusion sets in when Tara starts screaming and trying to injure him as he's about to capture her.

Not a great start as misunderstandings and cultural differences continue to plague the two. All while both are holding back secrets of their own that could make or break their future.

* *

Short story showcasing a superficial SFR with one real adult content scene. Good for a quick read when you're looking for something to enjoy without taxing the brain. One to get lost in as the fantasy romance between the two plays out.

My issues were that I'm not that sort of person so many portions of the story irritated me. My thought is that if I signed a contract giving away all rights and privileges to have a say in my future and I'm dropped on a planet without knowing the culture, the people, the flora and fauna I certainly would be cognizant and learn real fast those things I'd need to know to survive. Anyone who jumps into something with rose colored glasses and fails to follow any degree of caution and/or personal safety is the type of character I label TSTL. Sorry Tara.

Not a story/book I'm gonna go out on a limb to recommend but it does have the fairy tale fantasy feel that some might appreciate.

This actually wasn't too bad. I enjoyed reading it. Tara was sort of...annoying I guess is the word? She was desperate to escape her situation and sign up for the mail order human agency. However, she was surprised she would be considered property somewhat. Well being aliens thats sort of a given lol. She gets really upset and decides to "change her mind" well its too late for that. Then she is all like accepting things and him and mates. However, because she wakes up with marks on her arms she just figures its a disease and he lied about being diseased? Why wouldnt she just ASK him instead of running off knowing there isnt anything near them? How dumb can you be? Just sayin. Once he tells her shes like oh okay...uh really? Wow! Her character wasn't the smartest tool in the shed.

I needed a book to put on my kindle touch so I could read outside and this was on my TBR list for my KU subscription so I downloaded it and the other 2 in this series since they are so short.

I'm glad they are short as I don't think the stories could have been any longer. There was nothing great or really likeable (other than the length). Nothing jumps out at me to recommend these to anyone.

As Earth is ravaged by war Tara feels like she has no choice but to sign up for the Mail Order Human program and give herself over to an alien husband. She wasn't expecting to like her frightening new husband, Sev, quite so much.

Very short and to the point. I found the writing to be a little erratic and story not to be all that captivating

Meh.

I tell myself that I'm being too harsh, but I'm just not impressed. The heroine jumped into TSTL territory fairly quickly and the story was too short to rescue her from it. Just borrow this.

Out of this world

Love reading about alien romance and other paranormal shifters. It was short, well written, and exciting. The characters were awesome and once you start reading; you won't be able to put it down. Very enjoyable and keep them coming?

A nice, short read. The heroine had a few TSTL moments but soon came out of them. Mostly it was just that she knew exactly what she was getting in to, then fought against it. Anyway, it was short, it did what it set out to do.

This story was a little half baked. The 'big misunderstanding' trope is not sophisticated enough for today's audience and I found the story a too simplistic. It's an okay quick read but not a novel I'd revisit.

Short and sexy

I enjoyed this short story. Tara and Sev are an unlikely pair but they make it work. The sex scenes were hot. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.
