ચાર સત્ય ઘટનાઓથી પ્રેરિત, ૨૦૧૪ માં પ્રકાશિત થયેલી આ નવલકથાની રૂમી નામના એક બાળકની આ સફર છે. નવલકથાનું સૌથી શ્રેષ્ઠ પાસું છે એમનું વર્ણન, વાર્તા, અને સત્ય! આ નવલકથા એક એવા ગાંડા બાળકની વાર્તા છે જેનું મગજ શૂન્ય છે. જે ગાંડું બાળક કચરામાં પડ્યું-પડ્યું પ્લાસ્ટિક ખાતું હોય અને એ બાળક જો પોતાના આત્મ-અવાજને સાંભળીને એક દિવસ દુનિયાનું સૌથી મહાન બાળક બને એ વાર્તા જ વાંચકોના હૃદયને દ્રવી ઉઠાડે છે.

આ નવલકથાના પાત્રો માત્ર ચાર છે. પ્રકરણ માત્ર ચાર છે. પરંતુ એની અંદરની ઘટનાઓ એવી છે જે ચાલીસ વર્ષ સુધી પણ વાંચકના મનમાંથી જાય નહીં. તમારી આંતરિક દ્રષ્ટિને એ જડમૂળમાંથી બદલાવી નાખે છે. આ તોફાન મચાવતી બળવાખોર વાર્તા છે. એવા પણ કિસ્સા બનેલા છે કે વિશ્વમાનવ વાંચીને વાંચક બે-બે રાત્રી સુધી સુઈ ના શક્યા હોય. જીતેશ દોંગાની આ પહેલી નવલકથા ગુજરાતી સાહિત્યમાં કલ્ટ બની રહેશે.

વિશ્વમાનવ, નોર્થપોલ અને ધ રામબાઈ નવલકથાઓનો વાર્તાકાર છું.

મને અડદની દાળ અને બાજરાના રોટલાં ખુબ ગમે છે. સવારે ભાખરી અને સાથે માખણ પણ ગમે. હું પુસ્તકોનો અઠંગ વાંચક. પુસ્તકોની સુગંધનો નશાખોર. એકલો રખડનાર વ્યક્તિ, છતાં ફેમિલીમેન. માવડીયો. સાયન્સ ફિક્શન અને સ્પેસ સાયન્સનો ખુબ જ મોટો ચાહક. મને એસ્ટ્રોનોમી, ફ્યુચર ફિક્શન, ફેન્ટસી ફિક્શન વગેરે વિષયો પણ અતિશય પ્રિય. માનવજીવનની ફિલોસોફીમાં પણ ખુબ રસ. મારું સપનું છે કે એકવાર શબ્દો થકી એવું ફેન્ટસી વર્લ્ડ બનાવવું છે કે જેમાં હું જ્યારે-જ્યારે જાઉં પાછું ન આવવાનું મન થાય! સવારનો કૂમળો તડકો અને રાત્રીનું ઘાટું આકાશ મને ખુબ ગમે. Instrumental મ્યુઝીક અને વર્લ્ડ-સિનેમા પણ અતિશય વ્હાલાં.

મને સપનાઓ જોવા અને કહેવા ખુબ ગમે. મારું એક સપનું છે કે હું ક્યારેક મંગળ ગ્રહ પર જઈશ! લગભગ વર્ષ 2035-2040ની આસપાસ. બીજું સપનું એ કે મારે મારા જીવન દરમિયાન સાત-આઠ નવલકથાઓ લખવી જે ખરેખર વાંચવાલાયક હોય! ક્યારેક કોઈ ફિલ્મમાં નાનકડી એક્ટિંગ પણ કરવી છે. ફિલ્મ લખવી છે. એકવાર આખી દુનિયા એકલાં રખડવા જવી છે, અને જ્યાં જાઉં ત્યાની વાર્તાઓ શોધીને બધાને કહેવી છે.

બસ…ઊંડું-મજાનું-મીઠું-ગમતું જીવતાં-જીવતાં અન્ય માનવીઓ માટે પણ હું જીવી જાણું તો ઘણું!

Everyone must have to read it, if oneself starts to read it,then it'll impossible to stop and one would be free when it completed...and through reading u'll realize like chetan bhagat is writing a book in gujarati language!

Author describe ed hunger, misery, tears, pain, struggle, love, death in that much details which i think too much which made me feel disgusting instead of emotional untill i complete 60% of it. And as mentioned in start that it is inspired by true stories.. That made me feel even more bad.. So at the end I will say I would not like to read such book again which brings this much negative emotions like storm.. Although it's best seller but i personal y find North Pole much much much better than this one. 2/5

Damn!!
What a Novel.
A transformative novel. A book based on four true stories.
I did read Jitesh Donga's Northpole first, then I started reading this Novel.

Believe me, No spoilers here, this is something. It is a journey of a mental child.

Narrative, characterisation and story are absolutely fantastic. It would take you to the another world. Will show you truth and then it will send back to earth. 5/5

સર.. મે તમારી વિશ્વમાનવ બુક વાંચી. રડી જવાયું. અદ્દભુત, અક્લપનીય.
ફક્ત સેક્સ એજ પ્રેમ નથી, પ્રેમ એટલે મુસ્કાન અને રામ, પ્રેમ એટલે રૂમી અને સ્વરા. જો દરેક વ્યક્તિ આ બુક વાંચે તો તો કોઈ દિવસ આ દુનિયામાં હિંસા થાય જ નહીં. દુનિયા જોવાનો નજારો બદલાઈ જાય.
