ARC REVIEW
Each book is a stand alone, it isn't necessary to read all three of them but it's nice to get the whole picture if you do. The story of this book was good it was entertaining, I just didn't care for the characters. Sex on the first date isn't really what I enjoy reading, I like the build up the sexual tension.
Kelsey is at a crossroads in her life, she just graduated and now she doesn't know if she wants to settle with a job back home or continue her education in Europe. But for now she isn't going to worry about it. She is going to spend the summer at her best friend's summer house in the Hamptons and have fun and hopefully a meaningless summer fling with the Hampton Hottie.
Sean Dempsey is biding his time as a lifeguard until the end of summer when he leaves for bootcamp, settling down isn't in his plans. It was just suppose to be a fling with the tall lean blonde, he never expected her to take a place in his head and heart. But Kelsey just buried her father who was a career Marine, now she must decide if she wants to risk her heart to Sean.

Oh wow!!! Didn't know what to expect from Liz Matis but honey did you deliver!!
Fresh from graduation and trying to figure out life (and how to fund it) Kelsey decides that she will just put life on the back burner and enjoy summer. Sean, tried of all the rich stuck up girls (and heartbroken) that the Hamptons brings wasn't looking for anyone. But as we have it fate would intervene. The first initial meeting was funny to me. I felt for Kelsey on her emotional a issues and how Sean seem to tie into it. They decide to make it a summer fling......but feelings don't always go along with our plans.
I loved getting to know the characters. I loved the story, the humor, the emotion, the steamy. I hope we get to see where life takes these two.

I adored Kelsey and Sean. They are both fun and have their own reasons as to why this thing they have going on has to be just a fling. Kelsey is smart, funny, and doesn't exactly know what she wants to do with her life. After losing her father she's adrift. She does everything she can to keep from falling for Sean, but it's hard to do when he's as sweet and caring as he is. Sean is set to follow in the family tradition after his last summer of being a lifeguard. But all that could change when he meets Kelsey. He's immediately attracted to her, but feels like she could be more than just a summer conquest.

Leigh and Nick are both intense characters. Leigh is going through some things that she hasn't told anyone. SHe's worried about how things are going to change. Nick is in the process of looking for another job, and trying to take care of his grandfather after the loss of his grandmother. Nick and Leigh's first meeting is pretty disastrous. Even with everything going on, they manage to keeps things light for the most part. They both have their own problems but get lost in each other.

Things really start to sizzle with Storme and Holden. They are both a force to be reckoned with. Storme thinks Holden is a beach bum, and he doesn't let her think any different. Holden thinks Storme is a snobby rich girl. Oh the sparks when these two are in the same area are amazing. They want to yell at each other almost as much as they want to make out. I love these two, and they definitely create some heat! Storme has a lot to figure out about herself, and luckily Holden wants to push her to make her own decisions. So much freaking chemistry!
This is the perfect series to wind down on the last days of summer. They are snarky, sweet, fun, intense, and just all around great beach reads!

Kelsey Mitchell has just graduated from collage and she decides to have the perfect summer with her friends on the Hamptons, before she decides what to do with her future. This summer was only about party and enjoy every time. The first night there she met sexy lifeguard Sean Dempsey. They both got attracted to each other since the beginning but they also know that this will be only a summer adventure.
As the summer continues they both start having feeling for each other. The problem is that their future continues to different paths. They have to decide if they want a future together or continue with their different paths.
The story is the first novella of the series Hot in the Hamptons. There are three novellas in the series, they all happen in the same time, but there are different characters because each one tells the summer of the three friends and also each of the stories are written by different authors. All the series can be read as standalone and doesn't have to be read in order.
I like this book because is precise and the actions of the character doesn't extend into unnecessarily scenarios. It is an easy read full of love, passion and good HEA. I great read for the summer.

Summer Dreaming is the first in a series focused on three very different friends, but all dealing with the beginning of adulthood. Kelsey, Leigh and Storme met in college and became best friends. Now that they've graduated, and before having to deal with the uncertainties of the future, they've decided to spend the Summer at Storme's family house at the Hamptons.
The protagonist of this first novella is Kelsey Mitchell, and hers is a very uncertain future... Still mourning the recent death of her father, Kelsey is in a dilemma: on the one hand she knows the right thing to do is to return home, get a job and help her family (she was only able to attend college due to an athletic scholarship) but what she really wanted was to continue her studies in Europe, only there aren't volleyball scholarships for MBAs...
Kelsey meets Sean Dempsey when she goes to the supermarket to do Storme a favor (in what originates a very funny scene). As soon as he sees Kelsey, Sean is immediately smitten with her and follows her into the supermarket, hoping to strike up a conversation. Sean is a local and has worked as a lifeguard for many Summers now. But this is going to be his last one, since Sean has enlisted at the army and is starting recruit at the end of the Summer.
The attraction between them is immediate and intense and they decide to spend the Summer together. But what will happen at the end of the Summer when they realize their Summer affair has become so much more? And how will Kelsey deal with having feelings for a military man knowing what her mother and her and her sisters went through with her father?
This was the first book of Liz Matis I've read, but it won't be the last. I love her sense of humor, her attention to details and the discreet way in which she weaved in the story some of the details of the next novellas. And I simply loved Kelsey and Sean! It's not always easy to make believable a relationship that develops in a short period of time, and it's even harder when it's a novella, but the author does it in an irrepressible way. So, so good!

More Than Summer Fun?
This was a really fun listen! I recommend listening with earbud or headphones so noone else overhears the steamy bits! You also might want to listen at home alone to avoid having to explain why you are laughing like a lunatic :)
This series is written by three separate authors but is probably best listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book.
Kelsey has just graduated college and is gearing up for one last summer of fun before she decides what to do with her life. Her father's death a year ago still overshadows everything for her, especially while driving the Shelby he painstakingly restored over a ten year period. He left her the car and it is the only thing she has left of him. She is determined to have fun with her two best friends before they go their separate ways. A summer free of anything but them and fun in the Hamptons is just what she needs! Who is the incredibly confident guy who followed her into the store? Should she give him a real chance? Or should she just have a meaningless fling and forget him before she knows him?
Sean is determined to enjoy his last summer at home in the Hamptons. He will lifegaurd during the day and party all night! Maybe he will find another fun, rich, spoiled summer girl to break his heart and make leaving easier! Who is the gorgeous blond with the hot rod that has so captivated him? I received an ARC of this book from InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review and as part of the series' blog tour promotions.
Of course there's going to be a hot summer series, and of course, it's going to be glamorous, steamy, and set in the Hamptons. Yes. That's what the Hot In The Hamptons trio of novellas is about. Add the fact that the series is written by three popular and talented contemporary romance authors of this generation, well, there's nothing more that needs to be said. It'll just be a whole lot better if everybody just bought the books and started reading.
Anyway, Summer Dreaming is a wonderful novella. I loved the chemistry between the hero and the heroine. The scene where they first met was really good. I also love the friendship between the three girls. Also, even if the heroine had money, she wasn't the spoiled rich kid kind. And even if the hero wasn't rich, he was still the best guy for the heroine.
For the story alone, I would give this book four red hearts. However, the fact that this novella also got me super excited to move on to the two other stories, I am going to grant another red heart as bonus. I think I may have just come across one of the most entertaining series this season.
You can read each book as a standalone. But if you want the complete experience, start with Summer Dreaming and move on to Summer Temptation then Summer Sins. I guarantee you will have one hell of a time with these three heroines and the men they fall in love with.

Kelsey isn't sure what's next for her. Her plans for the summer are sun, fun, and relaxation before she has to make any big decisions or try to figure out how to finance her next step. Never does she expect to meet someone like Sean Dempsey. Local boy, lifeguard, hot as hell but he turns out to be so much more. After watching her mother suffer during her father's deployments and ultimately his death, she's vowed never to get involved in a military man.
At first glance, Sean is sure Kelsey is just like all the other rich summer girls. He couldn't have been more wrong. She's sexy, beautiful, kind, and deserving of so much more than he can give. He knows he needs to tell her he's leaving at the end of the summer. What will she do when she finds out he has enlisted in the Marines?
This is an excellent sexy read with characters that have such chemistry it jumps from the pages. It's definitely a book I highly recommend.

A Sweet Sexy Summer Read
This is one of the books (the first) in the Hot in the Hamptons trio, and while it is not necessary to read all three it gives you a nicer fuller picture. These stories take place of course in the Hamptons, land of glamour and excess. A perfect setting for a sexy summer fantasy. This author grabs your attention right away and keeps you turning the pages until the very end and you just HAVE to move on to the next book in the trio. This is a fun, funny, sexy read. There is chemistry that is off the charts between Kelsey and Sean, and the heat and steam that they create, well, you have to read this book! I was generously given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

It was a good enough read mainly because of the characters who are both admirable in their own special ways. What I did not like were the spelling errors in a few pages and some grammatical ones. I didn't feel right about how fast they fell in love to the point of proposing marriage on Sean's part, especially Sean's part considering they have a lot of things to accomplish for themselves. But I understand that it had to be a happy ever after so I guess it was fine.

Have you ever read a book and thought: "What a Phenomenal, stupendous, wonderful, loving HEA book?" I have, this one! OK, I have used most of the words that I normally do in my description of a book. I will definitely be using them again throughout this review!
Ms. Matis does a phenomenal job writing the story of Kelsey and Sean. This was a wonderful, wonderful beginning to this trilogy! I love the way Sean and Kelsey's story starts with a summer fling, and drastically changes. Moreover, it changes more than once! Kelsey is not looking for a hero. Her father was a hero! However, her father lost his life serving his country. Unbeknownst to Kelsey she is doing exactly that, in many ways, Sean is that hero. He is a lifeguard in the Hamptons, saving lives. Kelsey, Leigh and Storme are spending the summer planning Storme's wedding. The night she arrives at the cottage, the three attend a party. Kelsey and Sean meet at the party, and the sparks start to fly. They meet up again unexpectedly the next day at the beach at end of her run. She sees Sean and some of his fellow lifeguards practicing. I loved it when Sean sees.......STOP! No spoilers from me! You really need to start reading this book it is stupendous!

I cannot wait to read Summer Temptation, the second book in this trilogy and have already read Summer Sin! OK, so I did not read them in order, you probably should. I want to Thank Jennifer Probst, for making me aware of this series. You ladies definitely have an absolute winner!

I cannot wait to read Summer Temptation, the second book in this trilogy and have already read Summer Sin! OK, so I did not read them in order, you probably should. I loved Summer Dreaming by Liz Matis! Hot in the Hamptons is a brand new trilogy about three recent Penn State grads spending their last summer together before they embark on their post college lives. This story is about Kelsey Mitchell, a smart and hot young woman that is still unsure about her adult future. Moving back home to Georgia or studying architectural engineering in Europe, are just two options she is seriously considering. At this moment in time however, she wants to channel all her energy into a summer filled with fun, a fling, and lots more fun. Enroute to her destination, Kelsey meets townie and lifeguard Sean Dempsey, which changes her life forever.
Sean is not only a hunk, he is also a hero. Over the years, he has saved many people from drowning, and at the end of this summer, he plans on putting his heroic skills to good use by serving his country in the Marines. For years he has played the field and has never felt the longing to commit to any one woman, that is until Kelsey strolls into his life. They immediately hit it off and before the summer ends their mutual lust has developed into true love.
I really enjoyed this novella. It is a quick-paced story with well-defined and identifiable characters. I loved the way Ms. Matis evolved Kelsey and Sean's relationship, with kindness, passion and realism. This is a well-written book that flowed effortlessly from beginning to end. If you are looking for a contemporary romance with the perfect balance of sweetness and heat, an engaging plot, and a happily ever after that will leave a smile on your face, read this book.

Fun, fresh, and steamy - a perfect summer read! Summer Dreaming, part of the Hot in the Hamptons series, is a must. I have been a big fan of Jennifer Probst, another author from the Hot in the Hamptons series, for a long time, and I was introduced to Liz Matis through her book in this series, Summer Dreaming. I am SO glad I was, and I will be adding Liz to my "must read" author list! Three girlfriends are hanging out the Hamptons for the summer to relax, spend time with each other, and figure some things out before they return to their normal lives. In Liz's story, Kelsey is trying to relax for the summer, help one of her best girlfriends plan her wedding, forget that her father is no longer with her, and not think about the fact that she is not sure what she is going to do now that she has graduated college. And, then she meets Sean, a life guard whose professional goals after this summer are the exact opposite of what Kelsey is looking for. As a couple, they are super sweet, sassy, and romantic. But, will that be enough. As a side note, I happen to love when different authors get together and write interconnecting stories because I often finish a book and wonder what is happening with the secondary characters. In the Hot in the Hamptons series, you are able to learn about all three girlfriends.

This is one of three stories with linked characters written by three different authors, though each can be read as a standalone. The basic premise is that three girlfriends are spending a summer together at the Hampton's before one of them gets married. In this particular story, Kelsey is determined to live it up a little bit and when she meets lifeguard Sean, the "Hampton Hottie" a summer fling seems like just the thing to lift her spirits. I thought the two of them had a lot of chemistry together and the sex scenes between them were pretty hot! While Sean's reputation may be well deserved, he's matured and is taking his life in a new direction, though now that he's met Kelsey, the idea of leaving her behind at the end of the summer is troublesome and he's hoping she'll commit to more with him before all is said and done. It's a short read with a bit of seriousness but mostly just a sweet and sexy romance. The ending was a bit abrupt and I didn't really think with their ages it was necessary to have everything tied up so completely. But overall an enjoyable summer read! 3.5 stars.

Summer dreaming is in the Hot in the Hamptons series, from Kelsey Mitchell and Sean Dempsey’s POV. Expecting to have summer fun to forget about her father passing and deciding what to do with her life, the last thing Kelsey was looking for was a relationship. She was up for a summer fling but Sean Dempsey quickly becomes more than that. Their romance is steamy beyond belief. The electricity jumps off the page.

I was given the privilege of receiving an ARC of Summer Dreaming by Liz Matis. I have to admit this is the first book I have read of hers. I loved it. I just love how she made the characters seem more real. And the situations are real to some who have actually gone through it.
Kelsey whom just graduated from college drives down to the Hamptons to her best friends home. She is indecisive on what to do now that she has graduated college. While hanging out in the Hamptons with her best friends she hope she can figure it out. What she didn't know was, was the fact she was going to meet Sean. Whom just so happens to be a lifeguard. Can her past and his future career keep them apart? I guess you will have to read Summer Dreaming to find out.

Summer Dreaming is quick, sexy & sweet.
Lifeguard Sean is the perfect person to play out Kelsey’s fantasy. Only when having fun ends up becoming more, how are they going to navigate a future together?
I enjoyed the characters very much. I adored Kelsey. She’s sassy, southern and has real emotions. She’s still hurting over her dad’s death, which is understandable, and doesn’t hide her emotions or apologize for it.
The romance is sweet and I loved seeing Kelsey face her fear over losing another person. Even though she lost her father in the military, it doesn’t imply that she will lose Sean the same way and life’s about spending time when the people you love for however long you have them. I’m glad their story had a happy ending.
This is the first story I’ve read from this author, but it won’t be the last.

What can I say but a great start to this new series of novellas of Hot in the Hamptons.
We get to meet three woman recently graduated from college to celebrate their last summer before starting their careers and adult lives.
Summer Dreaming is Kelsey Mitchell story recent college grad and still undecided what she wants to do with her life and career.
Then we meet local "Townie" Sean Dempsey lifeguard and as some call is the Hampton Hottie.
When Sean and Kelsey meet the attraction is almost immediate and we see two people who enjoy each other think it's only an Summer Fling but fight the feelings for one another but as their relationship develops we are cheering them on for that HEA that they both truly deserve.

What a wonderful story I enjoyed it alot. The characters are so real it makes you feel as if you are apart of there world. Kelsey is trying to just figure out what she wants in life. She's not sure like her friends. But she has had a fantasy and it might just come true. Sean who is the local hero/lifeguard. Finds himself in a situation for the first time ever. I loved this book! It was a great quick and easy read. It can be read as a stand alone novella but you will definitely want to read the next two books. I wish it were longer so that we could get more of the juicy details.
