3.25 stars. There is really only one word that I can describe this book and that word is sweet. The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire is filled with pure love that grew from childhood. I really enjoyed getting to know Savannah and Tyler. I love the whole falling in love with your best friend thing and finding long lost loves. This story just makes you want to sigh with content by the end of it.

TROSM is about 2 best friends from childhood meeting again after being separated for many years. Savannah moves back to Texas after getting in trouble living in NYC. Tyler is over the moon exciting that his best friend was coming back and never had forgotten about her once. However, what he didn't expect that his mousy sweet best friend would turn into a blonde bombshell! And from there Savannah tries her hardest to stay a city girl but things change when she realizes, the city might not just be where she is meant to be.

I really did like this story, however, I don't feel like there was enough in plot. It was just too simple. The plot basically consisted of the awkward reunion, Tyler and Savannah trying to hate each other, then falling in love the next minute, then Savannah moving away again, both of them being in turmoil being away from each other, and then finally the HEA. I just wish I could have seem more time with them actually together! I wish their relationship was more developed and that we could actually feel them falling in love instead of 1 week they hate each other then the next they love each other and can't breathe without the other one.

I think, to be completely honest, I think my standards for this book was too high. I was really expecting another My Forever Girl, filled with drama and passion. It was really one of those straight forward, growing up love stories. Not much angst so if you are looking for a tamer romance after a emotional rollercoaster read, this is definitely the book for you!

What do you get when Heidi decides to write a story about a smoking hot cowboy? A FANTASTIC read!! The chemistry Tyler and Savannah have comes to life with the turn of each page!
Savannah returns to her aunt and uncle's farm as punishment by her mother. Tyler thinks his childhood friend is returning and things will be like they were before she left several years ago. But he was wrong. Savannah returns as a snooty high class woman who would rather shop than help out with the farm. However Savannah has big plans of going to Paris in the fall and will do whatever she has to do to make sure she gets there. With some persuading from Tyler he slowly helps Savannah remember what it's like to live in the country and to also fall in love. Everything is going perfect until Savannah must leave for Paris. What will Tyler do? Let the Savannah go or go after his girl? This is one book you do not wanna pass up!

This story was kind of sweet, but not really my cup of tea. I just never got vested in the characters. It could be that I wasn't in the mood for this. Or maybe the characters were too young for me. In any case I do like Heidi McLaughlin so I'm sure this won't be the last book of hers I read. Happy reading!

I see that I am in the minority with this book, but I was bored to death. I liked Tyler, even though I found him to be very immature, I did like him. Savannah was just bleh, I found her boring and irritating at times. I usually love Heidi McLaughlin's books and purchase them almost instantly, but this one was not for me. I found this story to be inconsistent, and dull. The characters had NO chemistry. Not physically or emotionally. I don't believe that they were in love, and honestly couldn't care less. I don't think that either character was developed well and the story had me wanting to skim. (which is something I NEVER do). I will be doing a little more research on Ms. McLaughlin's books before I buy again.

Sweet country romance

Savannah returns from the city being sent back to her roots with her Aunt for going off the rails.

Savannah 's childhood best friend Tyler is waiting on her at the bus depot but years of being apart seems to have made him forget her when he greets and hugs the wrong girl, ignoring her stood there. So not the best start and the city attitude from Savanna kicks in.

It's a rekindling relationship very sweet and heartwarming read.

Finished with cliffhanger leaving you wanting you to know how things go from there.

Relaxed feel good read.

It started really good.
I love Tyler King. SO HOT! I MEAN VERY HAWT!

And then it’s like a golf ball flying in the sky… you thought it’s going to the right direction… and then it slowly fell on the wrong one. You know?

I loved this book! I remember when the Author asked us on her Street Team if we would like to have Tyler and Savannah's story as a full length novel and since I've started reading EVERYTHING that Heidi puts out there, with the exception of this short novella when it was released last year, I of course said yes.

Boy am I glad she extended this story, because if I had read it last year knowing now that it had ended at a pivotal point in the book, I would have been beyond frustrated! Thankfully, Heidi has given us the rest of Tyler and Savannah's story. And what a story it is.

We have two childhood friends that were separated when Savannah's mom moved them from the small ranching town of Rivers Crossing, TX to NYC 5 years ago. Tyler and Savannah were inseparable growing up and when the move occurred, as usually happens, they lost contact with each other. 5 years is a long time and lots of changes happen in that time... all with the exception of Rivers Crossing. Savannah is back for the Summer and Tyler doesn't even recognize her when she gets off the bus. And this is where it gets interesting.

Savannah has grown up into a beautiful young woman and Tyler is now a man and his feelings for Savannah are as strong as they were five years ago. As we move through the story, we see Savannah remembering how much she loved being in TX with Tyler and his BFF Jeremiah. Spending time riding, going to bonfires and just being with Tyler and getting to know him as he is today... the pull they have towards each other is palpable.

But she's changed enough that this small ranching town isn't where she wants to "end up" for the rest of her life. Her plan was to go to Paris and live the life she's always dreamed of. But when Tyler and Savannah reignite those old feelings, leaving Tyler behind breaks Savannah's heart.

Tyler loves Savannah enough to let her go to discover herself as their time together is cut short when her mother sends her to Paris earlier than expected. When Savannah gets on the plane she's not sure what she wants or she wants to be when she grows up, with the exception of Tyler. She loves him with all her heart and she has to decide if she's willing to live in a small ranching town in TX without a lot of the comforts that a big city has to offer.....

What does Savannah decide to do? Is Tyler willing to change or compromise so we can have Savannah in his life? Do we get the HEA we always look for in a novel? Those are the questions that will be answered when you read this very well written book by the fabulous Heidi McLaughlin!

Title: The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire
Author: Heidi McLaughlin
Release Date: July 21, 2015
Cliffhanger: No

The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire is sticky sweet southern comfort food for the soul. This honky-tonk friends-to-lovers book made my heart sing! While reading this book, all I could picture was fitness model Gary Taylor (also known as The Iron Cowboy) as Tyler King. I want a cowboy now… please.
I devoured this sweet country fairy-tale in one sitting. This story didn’t have any extra unnecessary drama or angst; it was just a smooth read. I want MORE Tyler and Savannah (stamping my foot like a 2-year-old). When this book ended, all I could think about was when is the next book coming out? I love these characters. I have been a fan of Heidi since the first book in the Beaumont Series. This novella was awesome. Tyler and Savannah are so cute. It started off rocky since she got back to town, but after a while her walls broke down and Tyler got to her. It took her remembering how they were as kids to make her realize that its always been him. Now her mother sends her to Paris early. I cant wait to see what happens to them when their story continues.

Their continuation was amazing! Heidi did a great job with the rest of their story. Tyler is so sweet and the love he has for Savannah is so real. She's in Paris and they are both missing each other like crazy. She's trying to find herself and he's home. What happens to them? Can they survive the distance? Will they get their HEA? You have to read to find out!

Sweet lord Tyler stole my heart in The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire. When Savannah arrives back at the ranch her welcoming from Tyler didn't go exactly as she thought it would and from there she was set on not having anything to do with Tyler. Tyler can't believe how much Savannah has changed and not just her looks! Tyler is set to remind Savannah just how much she once loved life on the ranch. The more time they spend together the more they realize the pull they have to each other and this time it is more than just a best friends pull. With Savannah's trip to Paris looming will that attraction and pull be enough to make her stay? This is a must read to see how Tyler and Savannah’s story ends!

Savannah, country girl turned city girl, needs just the person to show her that there is still that country girl in her when she is sent back to Rivers Crossing for the summer. Tyler is up to the task of teaching his childhood best friend that she belongs here and with him.
Tyler is a true gentleman who makes my heart turn to mush. Savannah has a sweet sass that is slowly learning to love being back yet has plans of studying fashion in Paris. Add in a big mouthed friend in Jeremiah and some other memorable characters like Aunt Sue and Uncle Bobby and you've got yourself a sweet summer entertaining read.
And as the summer ends and Savannah is headed to Paris, who or what does Savannah truly want? The transition from teen to young adulthood has Savannah wondering who she is and what she wants to be and at the same time where does Tyler fit in all this? Can Tyler wait for her to figure it all out when the ranch is all he knows and sees his future in and one he questions would be enough for her? One thing is for sure, your heart will be with both of them as they each navigate their paths in this journey as individuals and as a couple.

This is a heartwarming story about young love and finding out who you really are.

Tyler and Savannah grew up together until Savannah's mom takes her to NYC. She gets sent back to Texas as punishment. Poor Tyler, when he picked her up from the bus station and picked the wrong person...I felt so bad for him...But it was an honest mistake. This Savannah was not the Savvy who left...
I really thought that Savannah was going to be a stuck up brat the whole book...but really she is just looking for someone to love her and not ignore her or buy her off like her mom does.

Savannah's mom really ticks me off even though she is just referenced in the book.

I loved this story. Tyler is a sweetheart, Jeremiah will make you laugh, Aunt Sue and Uncle Bobby are the family she really needs.

I really hope Heidi has plans of writing a sequel because I would love to see how the future plays out for these two!

Savannah grew up on a ranch but when she was twelve she and her mother moved to New York to further her mother's career. At seventeen, Savannah gets into a bit of trouble and her mother sends her back to Texas to her uncle's ranch. Savannah is now "city-fied" and her childhood best friend, Tyler, doesn't recognize her when she gets off the bus. (Why her lawyer mother couldn't put her on an airplane I don't know).

Cue the montage of Savannah doing farm chores in inappropriate clothes while Tyler laughs at her and lusts after her. Savannah is just serving her time so she can go to Paris but feelings get in the way. One thing I didn't like about this book is how McLaughlin has this seventeen now eighteen year old girl drop her plans for the future to be with Tyler...and every adult is encouraging this decision. Also, I thought the dialogue was kind of stale. But mostly I thought the book was fine. In my opinion, I'd pass on this one.

I absolutely love all of Heidi's books and reading about Savannah and Tyler I can't get enough of this couple. When Savannah comes back to the ranch she doesn't want to be there. The chemistry between Savannah & Tyler are undeniable. Just when things are starting to look good with Savannah & Tyler her mother sends her away to Paris early then expected. Will Savannah leave, will Tyler go an make her see that being with him is the right decision? I love this book, Heidi never disappoint's

First I have to say that this book was a breath of fresh air for me because I have been reading Mafia and MC books and dark romances so when I saw this book was up for review I jumped at the chance to read first a sweet romance and then a friends to lovers romance I was excited. When I first started reading I was like where is the action and rough stuff then I remembered that I was reading a sweet soft romance for once and I sat back and enjoyed the slowness of the story.

Savannah and her family move to New York from a small town in Texas. Of course she is like a fish out of water when she moves to New York buy she soon finds herself loving the big life because it is fast and never ending. So when she is sent back to Texas for the summer by her mother she is upset. She does not want to go back to small town life.

Once Savannah gets back she is met by her best friend Tyler and Lord has Tyler grown up. Tyler is excited to have his friend back in town to hang out with and do the things they used to do but he soon finds out that she is a changed girl. So he takes it upon himself to show her who she really is and that is a small home town girl with a big heart. But Savannah has a plan on leaving at the end of the summer to go live her life in Paris.

After spending time with Tyler Savannah has some serious decisions to make. Will she move to Paris? Will she walk away from Tyler and their new relationship? Is Tyler worth starting a new life with him? This is a must read romance story that will have you on the edge of your seat needing to see what is going to happen to Tyler and Savannah.

Sigh... I love me some Heidi McLaughlin. I would like to read her shopping lists, just because I know she wrote them.

I don't know about you, but whenever I'm reading a new book from a favorite author, I get so nervous. Mainly because I'm hoping and praying that this won't be the book that shatters the person streak of success that I've had with them. And I'm here to say... I don't know why I ever worry about that when it comes to Heidi. I've read several of her books and NONE of them have ever disappointed me. In fact, they only make me enjoy her more.

And this book is no exception.

THE REEDUCATION OF SAVANNAH MCGUIRE follows Vanna (or Savannah) and her relocation to her childhood home. A ranch in the middle of nowhere. Savannah's mother sent her there as punishment for some things that she did in her new and fast paced home of New York City. It's been a really long time since Savannah has returned to the ranch, so when she encounters Tyler, an old friend, their reunion is anything but pleasant.

Tyler King, Mr. Southern Charm, is a kind-hearted, heart on his sleeve guy, who embarrassed himself during his reunion with Savannah. But once reunited, he realized that maybe this grown up Savannah may not be the same girl that he once knew as a child.

Throughout this book, the two relearn who the other is, while learning more about themselves and what it means to be in love. Tyler teaches Savannah who she is again, and Savannah teaches Tyler what it means to live "beyond the ranch".

I really enjoyed this book. The characters, Savannah and Tyler, are really great. Although, there are definitely times when I want to strangle both of them for various reasons. I just liked seeing the rekindled friendship and budding romance between the two develop. The pacing of the story was nice and I didn't feel that either of the characters just all of a sudden fell in love with the other. It did feel a bit graduated, but I think it's understandable given the history between both of them.

I also liked how Heidi didn't dwell too long on various plot points. Once a certain chapter closed, it remained closed. Nothing was too drawn out. In fact, the story took a bit of a turn that I wasn't quite expecting. And to be honest, I think that's what made me love the story more. Let's just say that the ranch is the only setting in this book. And I was so onboard with that. Because it gave way to some awesome character development. On the part of both characters, but in my opinion, especially on the part of Tyler.

One can assume from the title that it's Savannah that goes through this big developmental process throughout the book. And yes, that is the case. But don't look away from Tyler. He has a lot to learn himself. That's the beauty in Heidi McLaughlin's stories. Each character has to grow up. Each one has to learn something new. And I love that.

Overall, Heidi told a story of emotion, of realness, and of romance. What it means to really know who you are. And to allow yourself to be that person. I think Savannah and Tyler did that for one another. And it was so fantastic to read and watch it unfold. Such a great story! Highly recommend!

When I read the first part of this book in the American Honey anthology last fall, I totally fell in love with Tyler King! I've been eagerly awaiting the rest of the story since then to find out what happens between Tyler and Savannah; and I'm happy to report that Heidi did NOT disappoint (like she every really could)!!

Tyler and Savannah were the best of friends growing up. Playing, teasing, running around the ranch, riding horses, etc. But then Savannah's mom moves them to NYC and never brings them home for promised visits. Though Tyler and Savannah have both grown up and lost touch, neither forgot the other. Of course the Savannah McGuire that returns to Rivers Crossing is not the same girl Tyler remembers. Who returns is an angry, somewhat confused and chip on her shoulder laden seventeen year old. From the moment that Tyler realizes that he screwed up their reunion, Savannah is less than welcoming. She doesn't really want to be in Texas, though she's happy to be with her Aunt Sue & Uncle Bobby once again. Watching Savannah rediscover her love of the ranch and her attraction to Tyler is both sweet and joyful. Tyler loves this girl, but he's not gonna make it easy on her. I loved the way that they both would look at the other, realizing that there was something electric in their connection but at the same time fighting it because they are both young. Once they finally let themselves be in love, its all ripped apart by Savannah's mother (who we never see, but whom I wanna punch)when she sends her to Paris early.

With Savannah in Paris and Tyler in Rivers Crossing, neither likes the separation but neither tells the other what they want. Tyler because he's afraid of rejection, and also because he knows that Savannah is still on the cusp of eighteen and lost as to what she wants and he knows she needs to find that out for herself. Savannah is roaming around Paris, just as alone and lost as she was in NYC. She's unsure of what she wants, because things are different and she's scared to give up her dreams and that she won't be enough for Tyler. I simply loved that these two thought so much about the others needs! I loved how Tyler puts it all on the line and goes to Paris after his girl! I loved how Jeremiah (he's is absolutely a riot), Aunt Sue & even Uncle Bobby (even when he was being a cranky a%%) support Tyler!

This is just a beautiful, sweet story of childhood sweethearts finding their way to reunite and find their happily ever after! I sure hope we get to return to Rivers Crossing sometime, because I'd love more of Tyler, Savannah and definitely Jeremiah!!

Just a few pages into the book... and I feel like I have already read these words. And that because I read it in American Honey. Finally we get go read the full novel ;)

Ah Tyler, such a sweet boy/man. I am a little confused about his age (sometimes it's 3 years older, some other times it's 5), but still.
description

"If she wants to have fun, I'll show her a good time. If she wants to be together, I'll be there willing and waiting for her to break my heart in the end."

description

"If you love someone, you let them follow their dreams and hope that eventually their dreams lead them back to you."

By some aspects this book reminds me of Lost and Found. Same background story, same discovery of the life in ranch, same hot/sexy cowboys; but it ends there. This story is much lighter, but nonetheless sweet.

As for Savannah, what is it to say? She came cold, ready to protect herself and discovered that sometimes letting people in is the best way to live.

I really recommend this book. It's sweet (just in case you missed that), easy and fast to read. You'll spend a good time, reading how they stubble at the beginning of their adult life. It might have been better if they were older, but some of the "threats/decisions" wouldn't have worked.

I just regret that the 'issue' with her mother was not addressed...

One last thing...
Sorry I can't let it go: "the drinking age is sixteen here"(Chapter 24, Savannah)
description

Nope, don't think so. In France the drinking age is 18, so still illegal for her.

The first half of this story was originally released last summer as part of the American Honey anthology. Having to wait 10 months for part 2 wasn't easy. But like every story from the mind of Heidi McLaughlin, it was so worth the wait.

Tyler King is a great hero. He's sweet and sexy - hot and dreamy but very much a gentleman. Doesn't get much more swoon-worthy than that. Savannah returns to her childhood home from New York as punishment and she's not happy about it. She's snooty and demands to be called Vannah. Ugh. I really wanted her to fall into a mud puddle. But as she started to readjust to life on the ranch and reconnect with her childhood friend, Tyler, I found myself liking her more and more. She became real and her vulnerability began to shine through.

The summer passes by all too soon and Savannah is forced by her mother to leave early for Paris. This is where the story really digs in. Savannah is in the place she's always dreamed of but her heart is still in River's Crossing. Paris isn't what she thought it would be but it's her dream. She can't just give that up. Tyler is moping around the ranch missing his girl. He knows that he can't be a jetsetter and wonders if Savannah could ever be truly happy living on the ranch. Tyler and Savannah are so different. But their hearts are missing each other. Is there anyway they can compromise and makes things work?

I knew what I wanted to happen and ultimately I got my wish but the journey to that point was filled with ups and downs. But that's the beauty of a Heidi McLaughlin book, you never know how you're going to get to there but you have a blast along the way.

The supporting characters were well-rounded and great to read. Jeremiah is a tool and I wanted to slap him more than once. I would love to be there when his other half shows up on his doorstep and turns his world upside down.

The one thing I would have liked is a little of Savannah's interaction with her mother. She was an off-screen character but I would have enjoyed seeing a little bit of them, especially at the end.

No!

This was a wonderful story of second chances. In true Heidi fashion, she pulls you into the lives of these two main characters with such passion that you truly feel like part of the story yourself. I loved the way she wrote story and shared their lives with us. It is a true testament that love, even young love, can be completely overpowering. There is no age limit on love and when you find it in its truest form; you need to leap head first into it. Without giving too much away, let me just say, Savannah and Tyler are characters that I won’t soon forget. Their emotional connection is strong and unbreakable and it what pulls you in from the very beginning. This is another must read from Heidi.

I was given an ARC for an honest review and I can say that The reeducation of Savannah McGuire was a sweet lighthearted love story that stole my heart from the beginning. I always love the raw emotion that comes from Heidi's books. The feeling of two old friends discovering something deeper and discovering the meaning of love, family and home. This book stole my heart and left me falling in love with the characters from the first page to the last page. The Reeducation was no exception. It also left me wanting more of Tyler, Savannah, and even Jeremiah.

Adorable love story

I just adored Tyler & Savannah's story! It was sweet and endearing and it gave me those warm fuzzies that I just reach for when reading.

I love how Tyler encouraged Savannah to be herself. To go after what she wants and spread her wings. On the flip side, Savannah recognizes Tyler for who he is and encourages him to be who he is. I love that! Neither expected the other to change and seeing Savannah's transformation from when she first arrived in Texas was so beautiful!

Great story - very light and happy reading!

Right from the start I didn't care for how Tyler treated Savannah, didn't really care for Savannah either. Tyler seemed a bit like a man-whore, nothing like Jeremiah, but the way he talked about different girls then Savannah, why. Plus Savannah seemed like a big bitch! So her mother won't win mother of the year, I get that Savannah didn't want to be in TX, but come on, could she complain any more. After 8 chapters I couldn't take it any more, this one just wasn't for me.

3.5 star read for me!! I started off loving this book. Tyler was just a hot country boy and Savannah was a country girl turned city girl. They were best friends until she was 12 and her mom moved her to the city. I loved the concept behind the book and loved the characters, but the romantic relationship felt a little rushed to me and the ending was extremely fast. I wish I could have seen a little bit of their future together. Just and OK read for me.

Quick sweet little southern romance. Tyler King never forgot Savannah, she was his best friend until the age of 12, their parents thought they would get married some day. Savannah's mom drags her to NYC to get away from the ranch life. 5 years later Savannah was sent back to TX as punishment for her wild ways in NYC. Very sweet romance. Kind of loved it

Young love at its best

I wish I could read this book for the first time again. I truly enjoyed watching Savannah grow into herself. The dynamics of her relationship with Tyler unfolded naturally and not once did their love for each other feel rushed. Highly recommend to anyone needing a sweet love story in their life.

I loved Tyler he was the epitome of a hot Book Boyfriend. I just felt that the story was a bit scattered. Savannah seemed far too selfish in the beginning of the book. And while she may have mellowed out by the end she still seemed a little to wishy washy for my taste. Still a sweet read.

The MCs were just not that interesting. I felt like character development was really lacking in this book and made me not care one way or another what happened. Tyler was a little too feminine and Savannah was a little too whiny.
