Else and Frieda von Richthofen married, respectively, Max Weber and D.H. Lawrence. The subtitle of this book is, "The Triumphant and the Tragic Modes of Love". A double-biography, actually a quintuple-biography including the two husbands plus Otto Gross, that is extremely rich and deep in feeling and insight.
