This book was exactly what I was looking for: detailed nutritional information and some menu plans. It also had information on how a weight loss raw diet would be different from a weight maintenance raw diet. I also like that this book wasn't for the raw food fanatic because they still kept the possibility open that some readers might still eat some cooked foods occasionally. There is even a cooked meal in one of the menu plans. They also use ingredients in some recipes that aren't technically raw, like nutritional yeast, tamari, and vanilla.

In addition to the excellent nutritional information here, there is quite a bit about kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.

I also totally appreciated that this book advocates a 100% raw vegan diet. No bee products here.

Another hit from this team. Will sit in library next to Becoming Vegetarian and Becoming Vegan.

More text than recipes, which I usually skip through because you know, zzzzz. These ladies are fit and health-conscious. I love some of the easy-to-make recipes but let's be honest, until raw and/or organic foods start becoming more affordable, this book is sort of silly in a way. Who gets to be this choosy about food when people are starving around the world?

I read this is combination with Becoming Raw, by some of the same authors. The information is similar, though it can't hurt to read both. The focus of the Raw Revolution Diet, is on healthy weight loss. I liked the sample menus, which are planned to include all the necessary nutrients with something around 1600 calories. I appreciate the simpler side of raw cuisine, and that aspect is discussed.

I found the content interesting. The first half of the book is data. It is well written, but where are the photos?? Yummy food needs yummy photos ... NONE, not a single colored photo except for the cover. It's a shame. Recipes that I tried were very good, simple to make and interesting blends of flavors and textures.

Some of the recipes are off. The two I've tried I've had to doctor with added fruit of some kind. Living Cuisine seems to be a much more accurate book for recipes.

So far so good! One of the art students brought it for me to see and I ended up purchasing a copy for myself.

Pretty good! I trust the recipes to turn out well each time, unlike some books! And there's an interesting, informative intro section.

Mostly time-consuming recipes, some good ideas and general guides. Information from a dietitian, so some science: something lacking in a lot of raw foodie books.
