Debbie Christiana is a fan of things that go bump in the night, the mysterious and macabre, and unusual love stories. This led her to write dark romantic fiction and horror short/flash fiction stories.

I cuddled under my covers for the night and opened Debbie Christiana's book. Needless to say, the author penned spine-tingling tales that are better read in the light of day!
Wow!! I was highly impressed with this warped and twisted novella. Fast paced and easy reads that creep under your skin like icy nails of horror.
A couple of the stories are disturbing, but you keep reading because you're entranced. Ms. Christiana certainly knows how to trap the reader with her prolific writing style.
I highly recommend this intriguing, scary, twisted tales that will stick with you...
A new author for me, this collection of tales is exactly as the title states - curiously dark and centred around the paranormal. It kind of reminds me of the TV shows "Twilight Zone" and "Creepshow" in it's styling. A quick, entertaining read that is creepy rather than horrific or gore filled.
Merged review:
While cleaning up my ProlificWorks list I found another 150 or so short stories, novelettes, novellas, books, compendiums and omnibuses I haven't marked off on my Goodreads reading list!! Now some of them I feel I have read previously and some I think were that bad I just deleted them, but a few look like they're going to be corkers.
As I feared, I have read this collection of short stories before but I'm glad of the reread because this was a great collection of horror tales featuring Italian witches - Stregas.
This anthology took me into the darker areas of humanity and the paranormal world than I normally like to go. The stories were compact and yet all ended in a satisfactory (not happy – at least from the perspective of the teller) manner. The stories are disturbing, but I couldn’t stop reading them because they’re so engaging. And they all have that moment when I said, “Oh, my goodness.”
Dark tales that may or may not give nightmares, but will leave you wondering about the disturbing actions of individuals (chills down my spine).
I was given a e-copy in exchange for my honest review.
I have read a few other books by this author. The other books I have read deal mostly with the supernatural, this book does contain some supernatural aspects, but the main focus is dark and twisted. Which I can say, the author did a great job with. I hope she has more dark tale books to come. Even though the short stories are dark, I wouldn't consider them gory, so if gore isn't your thing, you are safe to enjoy a good scare from these tales. If I had to compare these tales to something, I would say they remind me of the old Creep Show tales. I am a huge fan of dark tales and horror, so this was a great book to add to my stash. I wouldn't say that this book will give you nightmares, but they will give you a good chill, or a few cheers. I hate to say that I may be a little more dark and twisted than I would like to admit. A few endings I was cheering saying "ha, that's what you get". With that being said, maybe I should refrain from saying that it won't give you nightmares, and say that it didn't give me nightmares.
I highly recommend reading this book if you are a fan of twisted tales. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Debbie Christiana spins several bone chilling tales in this collection. Mostly they are placed in modern times, though one starts several centuries ago and concludes with the modern times. In these stories several Italian witches called the Strega who practiced the witchcraft called Stregarria. These ladies are very in tune with nature and often misunderstood. They are not like today's Wicca witchcraft practitioners. However they are often crossed and burnt on the stake. That doesn't mean their end they can be summoned back through special spells and prayers and their power will be 10 fold. All of the stories are great, but my extra favorite one is "Nerezza" Pick up a copy of this great collection and be terrifyingly terrified.
Loved these six stories by Debbie Christiana! Twisted and certainly curious, I couldn't put this book down and finished it in one sitting. I loved the underlying theme of female power throughout nearly every story (like in THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN and PROFESSIONAL COURTESY) and the gothic feel behind NEREZZA. If you're looking for a quick read and something dark for your palate, this is a great anthology to check out.
In honor of Halloween, I decided to read this book of the season. It's a series of short stories. I'll warn you up front, they aren't for the faint hearted and I'm glad I read most of them in the daylight. Ms. Christiana grabs you at the start of each tale and keeps you moving forward, always with a chilling ending. If you like the macbre and all things creepy, then grab these short stories and get reading before October 31st... it's a perfect primer for Halloween night!
Curiously Dark Tales is a fantastic but dark book. With a wonderful story line. This twisted story was everything that I wanted and more than I expected! This was a great read! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves "Darker" stories!
