Add One Rebellious Teenager Try To MixTake responsibility for his orphaned niece, yes. Raise her himself, no. A good boarding school was what the girl needed, not an uncle who was never home. But then Michael Throckmorton's niece ran away. And the big-hearted, beautiful diner waitress who'd taken her in wasn't letting her go so easily. Josie Miller had a few conditions for ...more

If I had known that this was a Christian romance, I might have had second thoughts about reading it. This does become apparent in the first chapter of the book, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I am glad that I did.
What worked for me were the characters and their developing relationships with each other. I felt that the author did well in detailing the changes that the hero, Mike, had to undergo in order to make himself a good guardian for his orphaned teenage niece. He was a bit slower i

have also been in the shoes of THIS main character! never felt like i fit in w/ the family i was born into. i never had the nerve to break free like she did, tho, not for MANY many years, and then, never as totally as she did.

i love the fact that the other main character in this book made the compromises that he did. sure wish that more fathers would at least THINK about it, if not actually do it. it really is NOT about the money, but about the time, and ourselves, that we give our kids that the

I loved Mike, Josie, and Lisa, the main characters, and wish I could actually visit with them. Missy Tippens characters are fun and realistic, especially for a debut novel. The plot development is a little bit predictable, but pleasing. This book is perfect for anyone who has ever dealt with a rebellious teenager.

Michael's niece, Lisa has run away from boarding school. Josie Miller, waitress at a small diner, has taken her in. Will "Uncle Mike" be able to connect with his niece? Will the memories of her mother be too overwhelming? Can Josie set them all straight with God's help?

Loved Missy's debut novel. Her style shines. No one else could have told Josie and Micheal's story like Missy did.

You'll love the characters in the book! Josie is the person you'd want for your best friend and Michael is the man whose hair you'd want to muss.

I couldn't stop smiling while I read this book.

I live in Georgia with my wonderful, supportive, pastor husband (my very own real life hero even though he's not too handy around the house). We have three perfect children. Well, maybe not perfect, but they're loving and fun and are God's greatest blessings. To add chaos to the household, we have two dogs and a cat.

I was a stay-at-home mom for 16 years, writing for about 10 of those years. I own
