This was NOT a book that I have completed reading. This was a Tamil B-movie transcribed into prose, populated by larger-than-life protagonists, antagonists, unbelievably horrific politicians, sexy women who dress like a slut but evoke maternal instincts among policewoman and brotherly instincts in a CBI guy, CBI officers who are also commandos, an orphan who grew up to be engineer and then became a muscleman to punish someone and then became a killer to avenge his foster father.... I hope you get the drift. Combine awful english with all that, and you end up with a seriously bad piece of writing.
If you want a proper thriller, with elements of sex, corruption, and revenge, read Lee Child, Harlan Coben, David Baldacci, and other stalwarts.
Or watch Tamil B-movies.
This book, is a complete waste.
Not Recommended, seriously.

When you've only wanted normal life but your loved ones are killed allegedly because they protested for their rights and you only want one thing in life that is REVENGE. Not a well plotted revenge but the words, situation are well explained in a manner that lets you get deeply involved in the fast paced thrilling plot.

Intriguing and suspenseful
This was a well written and really a deliciously dishy treat. It was a pretty good book! I enjoyed the characters, and I enjoyed the story line. This novel moves pretty fast and I was hooked on it pretty early on!

Racy and engrossing drama.
Written well to keep you engrossed throughout the story. A good narrative keeps you entertained. Well done Rao in producing a racy drama which I enjoyed reading in one go.

Thriller, at it's best
The plot elements are revealed carefully for a roaring thriller. Great thought process in arranging the chapters. Minute details are also very clear and informative for forming an image of the happenings in our mind. Good one and keep up the good work

Excellent
Good. Sometimes he goes on describing things more. Melodramic. But not for a first time fiction. In the whole good book

🌻Oh no, couldn't believe the climax, in total awe. Not giving much of spoilers but this was amazing. Right from the beginning, the characters were amusing, very cool. Whether is Maria, Swapna, Sandeep, who so ever they have their own taste and past. The way they were presented seem so original and natural. Would be happy to see this on Tv, things felf so so good and so on point. Though, the pace kept changing but the fact that it was slow made me read it quicker. I started it yesterday and completed it yesterday itself.
I am so happy that am getting such good books to read this year. The plot and characters are the heart of the book. A thriller lover must try. Definitely recommended.

The story revolves around Salem Palaniswamy the minister of power. He is evil, corrupt, complusive womanizer. His lust for money and power corrupts the lives and dreams of innocents.
Santosh a regular engineer, Maria an aspiring pilot and shyam Agarwal a respected industrialist become palaniswamy's victims and decide to take revenge from him for their very own reasons. There is a plan to murder the power minister.
With revenge in the air the question is... Will there be a murder tonight?
This is the debut novel of the author and for a debut novel i must say the book is mind blowing. The story starts with the present and then it goes in flashback.
The story has a good pacing. At times though with too many details it slows down.
Well described characters and The plot is well built but some things looked unrealistic. But its a novel after all. There are many twist and turns in the plot which will keep you engrossed in the book. The suspense is well maintained till the end. It was as if i watching a bollywood movie. The book was simply unputdownable.

No Murder Tonight is a pretty good pulp fiction novel set in the cities of Salem and Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. It pits a corrupt, womanizing politician against multiple adversaries - each with their own grievance against him - who all move to settle those matters on the same fateful night. The plot is decent, with detailed backstories of the minister's enemies, fast paced action and well kept suspense. A few of the characters are interesting whereas some of the others are typical for the genre. There are some coincidences that are only plausible in pulp fiction. However, in the end, this novel is quite entertaining, but would have been better with about fifty pages less, at least.

The story is very well written. I was looking for a thriller and searching for a read from a new author. The title captivated me first. Then the Chennai setting, and opening scene. I loved it. Then entered the daring and brave police officers, not to mention the women officers. With the right ingredients on the table, the author G.V. Dubba Rao, has woven the story in a gripping way. The characters are realistic, the suspense maintained throughout. Go for it.

Awesome, intriguing suspense story which keeps you hooked till the end. Nice story plot with many intertwining parallel stories of the various characters. Loved it because the story flawlessly came to an end without any loose ends.
No Murder Tonight is a must read if you like to read suspense novel with a political background.

A good book from a debut author. It has all elements required to be called as a good thriller but not at the right places. Overall, a nice read!!

It's a story that shines a light on themes that we choose to ignore many times... It is a fantastic story, with well-written characters...
