The Pumpkin Club: 31 Days of Terror

From the authors of Heirs to the Dark Web, Monsters and Distorted Metamorphosis, this Halloween, the ultimate horror arrives...

Harold Saggerbob, the big, fat, friendly giant, moves into a house on Crom Street. A house where, years ago, a brutal murder took place.

Not that Harold cares; all he wants is to complete his pumpkin club. Only four more kids to go. But first, he has to earn the trust of the neighbourhood, so he can kill without interference, because Halloween is approaching fast.

Will Harold make it and finally complete his life's work on Halloween? Or will his new neighbours catch on and realize he's not as friendly on the outside as he appears?

31 days Harold has... 31 days of terrorizing the folks on Crom Street right under their very noses.

I was absolutely supposed to save this for October.

Did I?

Of course the fuck not.

You put two extreme horror writers together, slap 31 Days of Terror on the cover and expect me to have self control? Be serious.

This was dark, nasty, twisted and exactly the kind of fucked up Halloween horror I wanted. It has all the spooky season energy, except instead of cute pumpkins and cosy autumn vibes, you get the kind of shit that makes you sit there thinking, “Well… that escalated beautifully.”

J. Boote and Lesley A. Camphouse together is basically a recipe for depravity and I loved every minute of it.

If you read extreme horror, splatterpunk or just like your Halloween books significantly more unhinged than pumpkin spice, add this to your October TBR immediately.

I couldn’t even wait until October.

That should tell you everything. 🎃🖤

So the idea of this book is to read one chapter per day for the month of October; this way the tension ramps up slowly and sets the scene for the big day.... and that was my plan..... until I got impatient and read it all in a couple of days.... ooops!!

If you know Lesley Camphouse's and Justin Boote's works, then you'll know what to expect before opening the pages. Harold is not a nice man and lives his life in a disgusting way. But as we get closer and closer to Halloween, the stakes get higher, and the levels of depravity he shows go up as well. I've read a lot from these two authors, and they managed to shock and disgust me with this book!

If you want something extreme for Halloween, then this is for you.

Harold has become one of the most vile characters I’ve ever read about!

The Pumpkin Club is meant to be read one chapter a day, starting on the 1st of October, and I bet your Halloween will become even creepier and grosser!

It all starts with Harold, a friendly giant, who moves into number 39, Crom Street. Despite his love for feeling filthy, he does his best to win over the new neighbours… for the sake of his pumpkin head collection, which needs to be finished.
But be warned that the horrors don’t come from the spooky decorations, but from this despicable man who uses manipulation to serve his vicious needs.

Fast paced, extremely graphic, and addictive, this is a club that you don’t want to belong to. Just ask the kids!

5 stars, and would it be wrong if I said I really want a sequel?

The Pumpkin Club: 31 Days of Terror by Lesley A. Camphouse and J. Boote takes a seemingly quiet, family friendly neighborhood and slowly reveals just how rotten things really are beneath the surface. Crom Street is filled with nosy neighbors, hidden secrets, troubled families, and a house everyone believes is haunted after a gruesome massacre three years earlier. Then Harold moves into that very house, and his arrival begins to unravel the neighborhood in ways no one could have expected. I really enjoyed how the story brought together all these unsettling characters and secrets while steadily building toward something much darker. The neighborhood itself almost feels like its own character, because the more you learn about the people living there, the more you realize that very little is actually normal.

This is definitely an extreme horror read with some truly disturbing and grotesque moments, so it is not going to be for everyone. What stood out to me most was the way the story explores abuse, trauma, and how violence can distort someone so severely that the cycle continues through another generation. There are some incredibly messed up characters and situations, but the story still manages to keep you curious about what is going to happen next. The ending especially left me thinking about how easily a victim can become a perpetrator when they are consumed by the same darkness that shaped them. A twisted, disturbing, and entertaining horror read that fits perfectly into a spooky season TBR.

The Pumpkin Club: 31 Days Of Terror 🎃

You know I was the most excited about this release! I’m a spooky girl through & through, give me horror, pumpkins & all the gore & I’m a happy lil lady 😌👏🏼🤎

There’s a new neighbour on Crom Street & it’s shaking up the neighbourhood!

How could someone live in a murder house?

Who’s this guy?

Is he sick? Surely he knows a family was slaughtered there?!

Well Harold didn’t know of the mass murder but now that he does that makes him even more EXCITED to live there! It’s the perfect place to grow his “pumpkin club” lots of children with lots of….heads 👀

I loved this!! I know we were meant to do the chapter a day for October (I would recommend doing that) but I was given a free pass to devour it all in one go & who am I to say no to that 😅

The ending was better than I expected! Lesley & Justin are the perfect duo for the nastiest of Halloween reads! 😮‍💨👏🏼

This is now available so make sure to grab it for your spooky countdown! 🤎

LISTEN TO ME: do NOT step foot into this book until you know the absolute madness these two authors drop! 🛑🎃 Go in as BLIND as humanly possible for all the rotting, squash-splattered chaos you’ve come to expect! 🔪💥

─── THE MEAT ────────────────
Harold Saggerbob moves onto Crom Street posing as a friendly giant, but has 31 days to slaughter four more kids to finish his ultimate "pumpkin club."

Inside, you'll find:
🎃 A killer posing as a cozy neighbor
🏚️ A murder house on Crom Street
⏳ A ticking 31-day October clock
🩸 Squelchy pumpkin gore
🚨 Unsuspecting suburban victims

─── THE VIBE ───────────────
Crisp autumn atmosphere blended with unhinged body horror and pure seasonal countdown anxiety.

─── MY THOUGHTS ────────────
The ambiance is OFF THE CHARTS! You get rich October foliage paired with stomach-churning visceral wreckage.

It’s twisted, nasty, and proves NO ONE gets a free pass this season. The daily chapter format makes it insanely addictive—your biggest test of willpower will be trying not to devour it in one night!

The Pumpkin Club
31 Days of

It’s finally here! 💀🎃🖤

At the end of Crom Street, a house has been vacant for years. No one goes near it after what happened there with the last residents of number 39.
Except kids looking a thrill and hoping to spot a ghost.
But even they keep their distance.

Someone has bought the house. The neighborhood is buzzing with gossip and theories of who could possibly want to live in a house with such a dark history.

Harold Saggerbob is the guy. He’s a seemingly friendly giant who gets along with everyone. Even the children are drawn to him.
Harold and his cat Fluffy have arrived.

Unbeknownst to the residents of Crom Street, Harold is on a mission. He has a Pumpkin Club and he is dead set on compleating it.
He only needs a few more members…

This book is a chapter a-day extreme horror buddy read. It’s gory, gruesome, ridiculously fun, and just the kind of October chaos I want in my life.

There’s a Facebook group to discuss the daily carnage with other readers and the authors.
Come on by and share your thoughts, don’t be shy.

Huge thanks to the authors who kindly required me to enter the slaughterhouse early.
It was my pleasure 🖤

I knew going into this that it was going to be fucked up - and somehow, it still managed to be so much better (and so much worse) than I ever expected.

This is technically a Halloween countdown book, with one chapter to read for every day of October. Adorable concept. Completely pointless in my hands. There was never a chance in hell I was patiently reading one chapter a day, because the second I started, this book sank its teeth into me and refused to let go.
Every character in this book is deeply, spectacularly messed up - although some of them take “fucked in the head” to entirely new levels. The plot was addictive, the pacing never let up, and the descriptions were so vividly detailed that I’d personally like to thank the authors for the sensory trauma. I swear I could smell Harold through my kindle, and unfortunately, that smell may now be permanently lodged inside my brain.
The death scenes were vicious, bloody and completely unhinged - exactly how I like them - and the disgust factor was turned all the way up to stomach-churning.

A serious warning, though: this contains a lot of graphic violence involving children, so please proceed carefully if that’s a trigger for you.

Summary: Harold is your standard friendly giant. Or that's what he wants his neighbours to think. Having just moved into a new area following his horrific crimes nearly being discovered, he is determined to blend in, and finish his pumpkin club. He just needs 4 more members, of which he has picked out instantly. With Harold's home being the scene of a murder previously, he feels this is just destined to be...

Review: This is such a brilliant book. Disturbing, disgusting, gory - all the fun stuff! Parts definitely made me cringe, Harold is definitely a character, a disgusting one at that. This book is designed to read a chapter a day from the 1st of October until Halloween which is super fun (although if you are like me you'll end up being impatient and reading it all in one go - worth it!).

Extreme horror fans, especially fans of authors such as Matt Shaw, Jon Athan, Anne Snow, Ryan J Powell - this one is for us!

This book is released on the 15th September, with Kindle being able to pre-order now! Thank you so much to Justin Boote who sent me this digital ARC, he is one of my favourite authors and I knew I was in for a treat, especially with Lesley!

🎃: Tell me - are you going to be reading this, and if so, will you be reading a chapter a day or all in one go? 🤭

WTFFFFFFFF This story has completely fuc-ed me up!
The bar has been set for reading a book during the spooky season “Advent Calendar” style read. Reading a chapter a day for the month of October full of horror and macabre. If you’re looking for a spooky season read that’ll give you nightmares. This is the book for you.

Harold, known to all as a “friendly giant” and being so harmless he wouldn’t hurt a fly. He is the new resident to Crom Street. This street has seen their fair share of horror and there is a sinister past that has haunted this street for years. Harold also has a past of his own and he is on a mission to unleash his horror.

OMG this book and the scenes were vile and sick! I gagged at some parts. This is extreme horror at its finest. I would say I was more than pleased on one scene in particular they had it coming. I recommend you don’t eat anything before or during reading this book. Make sure your food is settled.

I love whatever is wrong with J. Boote and Lesley! These two together is something dangerous for all horror lovers! The method in which they write feeds off of one another. I famously dub these two the Shaq and Kobe of horror writing. Thank you for allowing me to read this ARC all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

This gives me if Tristan from Ingest Me grew up to be a fat slob of a man.. YES. Instead we have Harold, a seemingly friendly large man who needs to wash more, whom the kids love. He just moved into the house that has been sitting on Crom Street and needs to continue his collection he calls The Pumpkin Club. Halloween is coming fast though so he needs to get moving. 31 days to complete his task.

Such a fun read! Truly felt for the kids, especially Carrie, Andy and Kenny. They go through it at their homes and look for an escape. Which Harold provides willingly. He does feel bad for them so maybe they can help each other out. He provides safety and they help him with his collection. Ahem.

There were times where it felt a bit repetitive and I really don't want to ever have to think about Harold's penis again. I also figured out how the story would end fairly early on but damn if the ride to get there was pure entertainment. I didn't want to put this down.

You can decide if you want to read this one chapter at a time - suggested in October, to end on Halloween. Or read it in its entirety and your pace. Either way, you're in for quite a ride!

“The Pumpkin Club: 31 Days of Terror” - “As much as I love everything Halloween, I would never join the Pumpkin Club.”

★★★★★

While Harold loves Halloween in his own special way, I don’t think he and I are on the same page when it comes down to decorating.

I’ve read a lot of disturbing and disgusting things, but with this one you are in for a very gruesome treat! “The Pumpkin Club” provides you with a lifelong (depends on how you look at it) membership and opting out simply isn’t an option.

When Lesley and Justin collab you know it will be an unforgettable nightmare you cannot escape, but maybe you never wanted to escape it in the first place.

Check your trigger warning and maybe don’t have Halloween candy while you read.

The Pumpkin Club by Justin Boote and Lesley Camphouse is an absolute gem. As an ARC reader, I went in expecting extreme violence, but the sheer madness of Harold Saggerbob’s agenda completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. He is vile, disgusting and absolutely filthy!

The setting is a suburban neighborhood on Crom Street. Envisioning Harold blend in, earn trust, and set up his horrific seasonal harvest was disturbingly entertaining. The imagery surrounding his human head "pumpkin collection" is profoundly grotesque and depraved.

This story is a treat for extreme horror fans looking to add some seasonal flair to their October reading list. My recommendation is to secure a copy immediately!

When I started this, I was planning to do a nice, structured review about how the mood is being set gradually, with one day after the other.
Threw my notes away after DAY 1, because this.... here.... there is nothing nice about this book.

Now that I finished it, all I can say is that I am shocked and I am appaled.

Well umm... Harold is vile. Gag inducing... I swear I could smell him through my Kindle!
If you are thinking about this book, don't. Just get it! Honestly it's gross, well written and I was invested!
It's a book to be read a chapter a day in the run up to Halloween - I obviously read it as normal but sounds great fun!
