The emergence of Radical Islamists should be no surprise to students of Scripture. America is only now understanding their intense passion to rule, not only the Middle East, but the western world as well. Youssef points to passages that show us how biblical prophecy speaks to the awful things to come. Beware of the secret of the Mahdi!
Michael Youssef is the founder and president of Leading The Way with Dr. Michael Youssef, a worldwide ministry that leads the way for people living in spiritual darkness to discover the light of Christ through the creative use of media and on-the-ground ministry teams (www.LTW.org). His weekly television programs and daily radio programs are broadcast in 25 languages and seen worldwide, airing more than 13,000 times per week. He is also the founding pastor of The Church of The Apostles in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Youssef was born in Egypt, but in 1984, he fulfilled a childhood dream of becoming an American citizen. He holds numerous degrees, including a PhD in social anthropology from Emory University. He has authored more than 35 books, including recent popular titles The Barbarians Are Here and Jesus, Jihad and Peace. He and his wife have four grown children and eight grandchildren.
Based on the title, I thought there would be more material that went into detail about Islam and the Mahdi; but instead there were just a few chapters that dealt specifically with that subject. The majority of the book was almost a commentary on Revelation by Michael Youssef. While it wasn't what I initially expected, the book was a wonderful read that delved deeper into what I consider to be one of the most fascinating books of Scripture! I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of the imagery of Revelation and learn how to interpret the times we are living in now.
Michael Youssef in his new book, “End Times and the Secret Of The Mahdi” published by Worthy Publishing gives us Unlocking the Mystery of Revelation and the Antichrist.
From the back cover: As our world seems to be spinning out of control, where should we turn for insight into the end times?
End Times and the Secret of the Mahdi is an action plan for living confidently in these turbulent and uncertain times. In this exciting new book, Dr. Michael Youssef examines current events in light of end times prophecies, revealing:
Striking parallels between the Antichrist of Revelation and the Mahdi of Islam; The rise of ISIS and other events leading to the end times; The movement toward a one-world government; Insights into the events of the Great Tribulation.
Though most of Revelation deals with future events, this book is not primarily about the future. It’s about the present — your present.
As you read these pages, you will be encouraged to stand for truth without compromise as God moves human events toward a dramatic and triumphant conclusion. And even when it appears that evil is winning, you will be assured by God’s promises and filled with eager expectation for our Lord’s return.
In “End Times and the Secret of the Mahdi” Michael Youssef shows us how the message of Revelation impacts our lives today–and what our response should be. The book is organized by the major themes of Revelation: Part One: the revelation of Jesus, Part Two: the reign and fall of the Antichrist, Part Three: the Battle of Armageddon, Part Four: Part Five: what The Bible really says about Heaven, and what Jesus is saying to you and me through Revelation. When reading this book we should be renewed in our awe of God and His Word and have our hope restored regarding the future. I think if you have friends and family this book would make a terrific gift for them so that they could enjoy it as well.

One star because: 1. This guy is a doctor (Ph.D.). Doctor in latin means teacher but what he is peddling is dangerous. He is a quack doctor, haha! 2. Interprets the Book of Revelation figuratively and selectively interprets portions of it literally whenever it suits him. 3. Doesn't know whether the church will go through the tribulation. What kind of doctor is that? 4. Teaches replacement theology. The church is now Israel! 5. The second coming and the rapture are one and the same. 6. When John was commanded to measure the temple in the Book of Revelation, he says this should be interpreted figuratively because the christians' bodies are now the temple! Wow! 7. He's not a post-, pre- nor an a-millennialist but a pan-millennialist because he says it will pan out in the end. 8. If not for his teaching about the Muslim eschatology about the Mahdi, he could not have earned a star from me but it's too few and far between. 9. Irvin Baxter is still the worst because of his self-worth and entitlement of being led by the "Holy Spirit," according to him, in interpreting bible prophecy but this guy is almost up there in wackiness.
I have long since believed from my studies that Muslims will be deeply involved in the end times. This book by Michael Yousif gives you a great understanding of the Muslims and their involvement in the end times. I really enjoyed reading this book because it goes into this topic in a way that helps you understand what is happening.
I have never read anything by Yousif before but I think after this book I will be looking into his other books. You will not be disappointed by picking up this book if you are interested in the end times and some of the people who may be involved heavily in them.
A walk through Revelations would have been a better title. The Author takes the book of Revelations by subject instead of trying to force a chronology onto the text.
Michael Youssef is one of my favorite media ministers. I was excited to be given the opportunity to read Rev. Youssef's view of end times, and its ties with the 12th Madhi of Islam.
Being born and raised in the Middle East (Egypt), I believe Youssef's views of the happenings surrounding the last days come more from an experiential understanding rather than an academic understanding of Islamic Eschatology. That's not to say that Youssef's views are not academic, as they very much are. I simply believe that Michael Youssef's views of both Christian and Islamic Eschatology have an extra depth that comes from a thorough understanding of End Times.
Without providing spoilers, I can summarize that this book addresses the similarities between the Islamic Mahdi and the Antichrist of Revelation. He furthermore discusses the present state of the world, and how we are in a collision course with the global movement to a one-world government. These things used to be considered to be happenings far into the future. Today, they're definite possibilities and are happening right under our collective noses. And, of course, the rise of ISIS plays a major role in the End Time drama.
The author spends a great deal of the book solely concentrating on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and the roles that are played by the Antichrist, the 24 elders, the 7 letters, and so forth. It was presented in a very accessible fashion. I think this book, as opposed to other End Times books I've read, is the most understandable version yet to be published. In that regard, the ease of understanding greatly contributes to the success of the book.
So much will take place in the very near future as The Antichrist, the Abomination that leads to Desolation, the Antichrist's 7 year peace treaty with Israel, the Great Tribulation, and many more events will lead us in to the glorious reign of Jesus Christ, and the ultimate fate of the Antichrist and his False Prophet.
I review lots of books, and generally relegate them to the shelves after the review. This particular book will be placed in with my collection of Bibles, and can/will serve as a valuable reference as I'm able to read it again and again. For this utility alone, I give this book a hearty 4-Star rating, and recommend it for both your enjoyment and the vast spiritual knowledge you will receive.
It's one that every Christian in these latter days should obtain and start reading now.
I received this book as an Advanced Readers' Copy (ARC) from Worthy Publishing, in exchange for my commitment to provide and honest and timely review. I have no other professional ties or expectations with the publisher or author. This review appears in Goodreads, Amazon.com, and my blog: jonreviewsbooks1.wordpress.com
I was very interested in reading this book by one of my favorite Biblical teachers, Michael Youssef. I have always found him to be a teacher that doesn't stray from the Bible and this book did not disappoint.
This book is about the book of Revelations in the Bible. Revelations has been a mystery to so many and this book helps to give it's readers a clearer understanding. He teaches that although Revelations foretells God's plan for the future, it is vital to our present day to understand these teachings.
The greatest thing about Dr. Youseff's book is that it is easily understood and very enjoyable to read. He does not write over our heads but writes to make the teaching very understandable. He explains Armageddon and other terms we have often heard in reference to Revelations.
I found it most helpful to have my Bible open so I could refer to the Scriptures he talked about. I made notes regarding his teachings in my margins because it really helped to clarify in my mind what the Scriptures were saying. Also, so much of what we are seeing right now in our world is made clear through this book and makes clear that we are seeing signs of the end times.
I really enjoyed this book, learned a lot, and found it to be Biblical throughout. It's a book that will be staying on my reference book shelf as I know I will read and refer to it time and again. This book is a must have for anyone who wants to understand end times. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

f you listen closely you can almost hear hear the earth groaning. The wars in the Middle-East, the terrorists in Europe, all of these awful things make us think of the end times spoken about in the book of Revelation. In Dr. Michael Youssef's new book End Times and the Secret of the Mahdi these things are looked and and explored.
I've read many books on the book of Revelation and the subject of the Antichrist so I was expecting something similar. I was pleasantly surprised at Dr. Youssef's fresh perspective. Rather than taking it verse by verse through the book of Revelation he chose instead to look at it in the major themes of the book. He also related it to our current situation and how things are lining up for this ultimate battle and triumph of Christ.
I really liked this approach. It allowed me to concentrate on a particular portion such as the new heaven and earth. Dr. Youssef used Scripture to show what has been foretold and what is to come. Another thing that I appreciated was how clear he was when he was giving his own opinion. He made certain that the reader understood that while his opinion is based on his understanding of Scripture it was just that, his opinion.
If the rise of ISIS and all the terrorism around the world has you scared and wondering what is going to happen pick up Dr. Youssef's book. You'll be reminded not only about the course of events to come but more importantly that Christ will triumph and we that are His followers will be united with Him.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
This is a fascinating book on the book of Revelation in the Bible and the Antichrist also known as the beast in the Book of Revelation. What Dr Youssef has done is relate the eschatalogical understanding of Islam and compare that to what is written about the Antichrist in the Book of Revelation.
It is an amazing read to see the correlations between the two individuals that being the Antichrist and was known as the Mahdi in Islamic eschatological teachings. However, the book didn't really go out much into this as it was displaying Dr. Youssef’s understanding of Revelation and what is called the End Times. There was probably a chapter or two on the correlation between Islam and the Antichrist and I I was hoping for more. Having said that, I must admit it was a great read and is something that will open the eyes of I believe many Christians in the United States today.
I would highly recommend that those getting this book also look at some information by Perry Stone called Unleashing The Beast. It is a book of his that he has updated once and it is a quite fascinating read on the correlation between Islam and the Antichrist. Both of these books and give a reader a very good understanding of how Islam could potentially play a major role at the end of time.
In Michael Youssef's book, End Times and the Secret of the Mahdi: Unlocking the Mystery of Revelation and the Antichrist, the author provides insight into the view by Christianity, Judaism, and Islam about End Times based on their respective scriptures and holy books. While there are similarities he also points out significant differences. Each describes what is predicted as signs of the approaching End Times and, in fact, we have already seen a number of false alarms such as identifying Adolph Hitler or Saddam Hussein as the Anti Christ or, as it is known within Islam, the Mahdi. According to the author, the goal of Islam is global conquest, establishment of a global caliphate, and conversion of the world's entire population which will bring on the End Times. The bible contains a number of references to End Times and describes its approach as well as what will happen when it comes. Dr. Youssef was born in Egypt and in 1984 he fulfilled a life-long dream by becoming an American citizen. He has authored more than 35 books and is a recognized scholar on the major religious texts including the Bible, Koran, and Torah.
Interesting interpretation of and insight into the book of Revelations.
Youssef covers the entire book of Revelations in this work; providing the reader with multiple interpretations and meanings for different segments of St. John's Apocalypse. For me, the book was filled with more personal unbacked opinion that I would have liked and at times the reading can be very redundant. Youssef also works to hard to simplify the scripture in my view. The title is also !is leading because only one of the ten chapters discusses the connection of the Mahdi to the Antichrist. Overall, a good easy to read book.
An exciting thematic study of the Revelation (singular, folks!). Dr. Youssef explains varying views and allows the reader to choose or remain neutral where there are differences in interpretation, while explaining the Revelation according to the revelation of Jesus, the Antichrist, the Great Tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon, and what the Bible really says about heaven. This is not a "prophecy" book as we hear current prophecy preached by those who claim superior enlightenment, though he does refer to current events, to be sure, and where they may fit into John's writings. I am going to reread it, this time with a marker. Then I may lend it out!
Disappointing read because it ends up reading like a lot of preaching but the data/analysis/proof to put forward the parallels the blurb implies the book will draw are flimsy, to say the least, as if mentioned just in passing...before the author goes back to preaching. Not really informative about the issue it aims at discussing.

I was blind sided by this one. I expected it to be a book about Islam and the 13th Imam and Islamic End Times Prophecies.
It really wasn't! (Or maybe I missed it!) It was more about the New Testament Book of Revelation! It was a good and thorough study of that. I don't remember it mentioning much of anything about Islam.
I finished this a year ago, so don't remember the details.
A very good book on the book of Revelation. Takes you by topic through the Apocalypse in a simple straightforward manner. A very good general reading on this important book of the Bible.
