Mousey was watching a baby bird when it fell from its nest. The baby bird is okay, but she can’t fly yet! So how will she get back up the tree to safety? Mousey may be too small to get the baby bird back up by himself, but maybe he can find somebody else who can! Maybe a frog can jump high enough. Or maybe a bunny can hop far enough. Maybe a snail will be able to crawl his ...more

I love this book. This book is a follow up to "Watch the Cookie!"

Mousie, the most adorable character ever, is watching a baby bird one day while waiting for his friend Sam to come home from school. The little guy accidentally falls out of his nest and onto the ground. Luckily the fledgling is unhurt but unfortunately he cannot get back up to his nest by himself because he is inexperienced and cannot fly yet.

Mousie takes it upon himself to be "his brother's keeper". He is unable to deliver the

Watch The Birdie, written and illustrated by Nancy Côte is a wonderful addition to our library! This book helps with my 4-year-olds observation skills (keeping track of the cat!) it helps the tot understand each character's strong points. Like the rabbit being able to jump high!
The story is super cute! Mousey makes it his mission to help a little birdie that has fallen from the nest get back home. Poor little birdie can't fly yet!! And poor Mousey can't get birdie back to the nest without help!

Sam, Mousey and the cat, are back from their original adventure, Watch the Cookie. Watch the Birdie brings several unlikely creatures together with Mousey to save the baby bird’s life. Instantly, a friendship blossoms between Mousey and the bird. Helping a stranger out of danger is noble and Mousey is exceedingly noble. Mousey is willing to give his life to protect the baby bird.

Nancy Cote (Dixie Wants an Allergy by Tori Corn, Watch the Cookie), delivers brightly colored illustrations, which wil

I won Watch the Birdie! by Nancy Cote from Goodreads.

Watch the Birdie!, written and illustrated by Nancy Cote, is a sweet story that children will want to read again and again. Mousey sees a little bird fall from her nest in the tree. Mousey tries to enlist the aid of other animals to get the bird back to her nest.
Little ones will enjoy the sweet illustrations, and parents will appreciate the theme of helpfulness.

I have loved Nancy Illustrations for years. I was so much fun to read not only a book that she illustrated, but one that she wrote, too. It is a really cute, fun story with cute, fun illustrations. Children will love the story and their parents will enjoy reading it over and over to them.

A cute but longer tale about a mouse trying to help a bird who can't fly stay safe from a cat. Each animal tries to help but who can protect the bird? Longer so for older preschool aged children but cute and great pictures!

This is a lovely tale of Mousey, who finds a baby bird who has fallen out of her nest. Mousey through his kindness and resourcefulness, tries to help baby bird get back into her nest before the cat comes. There are many heroes in this book, including baby bird herself. There is a lot of humor in Watch the Birdie!, especially the look on the thwarted cat's face at the end. Great illustrations.
I received a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you so much. My five year-old and I re
Pictures were cute but I didn't like the story. It's about helping friends, but it could come across as scary with the cat trying to get the bird and mouse.
