This book is garbage. For something supposed to be easy to follow with pounds melting away, it is overly complicated and the author's caveats for why a person might fail at this diet basically cover everything. I just didn't like the snake oil feel of the book especially as everyone by her criteria has metabolism B, her made up term for people who show signs of insulin resistance. She swears that her diet doesn't work by counting calories, but ultimately, any weight lost would be due to calorie restriction mostly through eliminating empty carbohydrate calories. Also, for someone convinced she's swimming against the tide of popular diets, she falls back on the reduced fat, low salt party line. In short, it still culminates with a garbage diet that requires unnecessary grazing per her instructions. Not worth the time nor money.

Finally, I get it! I get why I gain weight - fast - when I don't eat. I get that I can still have carbs but the science behind insulin resistance helps me understand when and what I can eat to control my weight and my health. Just yesterday I heard someone on the news saying weight loss is only a matter of calories in/calories burnt. I wanted to scream at him. Why is this not more well-known? Why didn't my doctor know how to treat my decades-long struggle with insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome? Ugh. So much time has been wasted on other diets. I can happily say after only 2 weeks my tummy is flat again and I feel amazing. Thank you Diane Kress!!!

I thought I was the only one !

It has been fantastic to find a book that finally understands what I have been struggling with for years- thinking I was the only person that exercised and didn’t eat and still gained weight!
