How can you not fall for a man holding a kitten he's rescued? Local veterinarian, Cassie, didn't like cops so she'd kept her distance from Alex. But his actions with the kitten tugged at her heart. Both Alex Santiago and Cassie Marshall had had their eye on each other for a while but weren't looking for romance. When Alex found a kitten, he took it to Cassie to check out. As they spent some time together, they stopped resisting their attraction.

Dr Cassie Marshall is a the town vet with an adorable baby at her side. Since her ass of an ex she had remained clear of the path of love because it is not just her she has to think of but her daughter's heart as well.

But all that is left in dust when an Alex Santiago, a K-9 cop, shows up in the small town to play with her heartbeats. The man may be an amazing example of the mankind it self but his profession is all for Cassie's doubts to rise.

But this tale where a man learns to reacquaint himse

A wonderful story with a surprise or two thrown in!! Cassie Marshall has all she can handle being a single mom and being the only vet on staff while her father recuperates. The last thing she needs is to add a relationship into the mix. That is until the new Alex Santiago shows up at the clinic with a stray kitten he's rescued. She doesn't want to like him but his kind ways and gentle touch soon has her by the heart. Surely he's the last of the surprises the heavens have in store for her. Or is ...more

'A Valentine for the Veterinarian' is the second book in Katie Meyer's "Paradise Animal Clinic" series for Harlequin's Special Edition line. As an animal person, I really enjoyed the first book, 'The Puppy Proposal,' so I was especially looking forward to getting another love story set in this world, hoping that it would be as good a read as the first one.

Well, I'm happy to report that it is. The hero, Alex Santiago, is a good guy, hunky, and looks great in (or out of) his police uniform. He als

Alex took a job in the Palmetto County sheriffs department after some trouble in Miami. He loved working with the K-9 unit. He was lonely starting over but things were getting better. Cassie the local veterinarian wasn't to big on the police. She tended to avoid them. She had enough on her anyway between running the veterinarian practice and raising her daughter. Alex's finds himself attracted to Cassie but she won't give him the time of day. When he finds a kitten His first thought is to take i

Alex is a new cop in town and Cathy is less than thrilled, she has her guards up for this guy because of something in the past but slowly but surely a break from her walls. Throw in a kitten, Cassie's daughter, Alex's K9 and a pregnancy you got a mess of drama to see.

I like this book, it was sweet, it was short, it was just an overall good book. I love the characters and their back stories were interesting. I love that there was both point of views. I love seeing the interaction between Alex, C

This is a well written, contemporary romance, with adult scenes, adult issues and plenty of animals and kids. I don't want to give too much away but it is set in Florida and the lady vet helps a police K9 dog handler.
I enjoyed the nature descriptions and the chill in February when we normally think of Florida as near tropical. A little girl, kitten and dog training are pleasant ingredients but the tale is not too sweet. If you enjoy adult romances with strong characters who work at getting the

A four year old girl, a dog and a kitten. Triple threat to one's heart. Hunky deputy sheriff and lovely veterinarian round out this delightful romance. A few efforts to confront and move past their pasts keep the story moving along. A few laughs, a few tears, and a lot of heart add to the overall enjoyment of this book.

I received this as a Good Reads First Read book; and am thankful for that opportunity to read it. It was a nice read. Not the typical Harliquin format-story; has a twist to it. Loveable characters and you easily get to know them and enjoy reading about them. Positive story

I thought Cassie was rude most of the time. she just wasn't nice to many people and it got old. she and Alex didn't seem to have any chemistry.
