War of Ashes: Fate of Agaptus

Rate this book
Welcome to the War of Ashes RPG: Fate of Agaptus! This “grimsical” minis-friendly tabletop RPG is based on the popular miniature game. Head off to adventure in a world where the inhabitants might look cute and cuddly but often carry pointy objects with which they might just decide to stab you. Play as a determined Elvorix, a vengeful Vidaar, a militaristic Jaarl, or a ravenous Kuld. Stage Romanic-style battles and then celebrate your victory with a pint of kogg.

A charming world book, limited only by the challenge implicit in finding a group whose interests mesh with this particularly particular setting.

The setting of Agaptus lives up to the book's promise of a "grimsical" world. The author does a very good job of constructing the world and demonstrating the unique flavor of the Elvorix, the Vidaar, the Jarl and the Kuld. The artwork carries a distinct style that also draws the reader into the lands of Agaptus. The book includes a working version of the FATE rules set, and takes good advantage of the flexible narrative core of the game.
