Aspen Everlasting is a fun paranormal romance. This is the perfect fit for young teens as well as adults who want a clean romance that is entertaining to read.
I'm not always a fan of romances because they feel cheesy sometimes, but there was plenty of humor and teasing that kept the cheesiness at bay. This quote is from the beginning where the main character, Aspen, and the childhood friend she is developing a crush on named Nate almost drown. He comes over and hugs her like friends do and...more
Aspen Everlasting is a quick read, and packed full of action and suspense. There's even a romance, and while I admit romance isn't at the top of my reading list lately, I genuinely enjoyed it. It was sweet, an ...more
They threw their friends to safety and then were able to jump further than they ever had. They just tossed it up to a huge adrenaline rush.
Apsen, Willow and their brother Ash soon realize that their adrenaline rush is not really that. They have strength like they had never had before. This is when the party begins.
Okay, party might be the wrong word, but isn't a party exciting? So, this is where the excit ...more
I loved the way you first meet Aspen, she's a normal 16 year-old, she has a crush on the boy next door and she has some great girlfriends. The first scene where they're playing "Sardines" really grabbed my attention. Then, Aspen ends up having to leave and gets caught in a swollen river in her car with her sister Willow and some friends. That's when the craziness starts happening. Willow is ...more
I like a book that draws me in from the first chapter. Aspen Everlasting did that. In my youth during the summer all I did was read. I would finish a book like Harry Potter in one night. Now a busy mom to 3 I don't have that luxury but I found myself taking every extra moment I had to find out what was going to happen next.
This young adult fiction has action, adventure, and romance. I felt as if I got to know the characters well and was a part of Aspen's inn ...more
Aspen Everlasting is a YA paranormal book. It would be great for the younger side of YA because the characters are younger and this book is clean.
The pacing of this book is good. I felt like I had time to get to know the characters even when events were moving quickly. This book revolves around Aspen and her family of Evermortals. It's a likable bunch of people and I was interested in their stories and their success. I liked the movement between "worlds" as it gave me a sense of groundi ...more

With that said, and to be perfectly honest, I thought "Aspen Everlasting" was a terrific read! It was fun! I was a little put out when I finished it because I wanted to keep on going. If there's a sequel, I'll read it.
Yes, of course there was some YA stuff in it, like teenage romance, heartthrobs and BFFs, but the st ...more
Though I did like this story, I felt that the style and many other details could have used improvement. I suppose my biggest complaint would have to be with the characters’ emotions and reactions. Often how the characters felt or acted didn’t really make sense for the situation, like the parents giving a lengthy explanation of the Evermortals while running for their lives, how the kids inst ...more
