Booker's story is finally here!

Eek! I am so torn on which book was the best. I just don't know what to say, I had to take a day or two to be able to come back to fully review this book and series. I am going to promote this series on my FB blog, goodreads, Amazon, and of course my Blogger. It is worth the read and please don't miss out on this series. It will stay with you for a very long time. I read Unlovable a couple of years ago and then Unbelievable last Christmas.

As always Sherry doesn't disappoint. I have been waiting for Booker's story since her first book "Unlovable". I met Booker in Unlovable and fell in love with him then. And throughout the series, I just kept falling deeper and deeper in love with him. He's has all the qualities I want in a man. He's a hard worker, caring, loving and sensitive.

In Unbearable you will see Booker getting his life together after he quit's MET. He's working in his office and has quite a few clients. He's doing great.

Sherry did not disappoint, I love it! I am sad the series is over but glad that I can always revisit Port Fair and the gang. with that said.....OH MY GOD!!!!! WAS THIS GOOD. I do have to warn that this book is more intense then the last two, but come on it Booker and I expect nothing less. Booker and Tess' journey to over come their demons together and take their life back from living in fear is heart breaking and beautiful. and the end will throw you for a loop and will have you in tears I know ...more

Sherry Gammon has done it again. Both shocked and amazed me. I can’t believe my lazy-ass has still not read ~Unbelievable (#2) ~ I know I’m certifiable since I loved the first book and can happily admit to re-reading it a few times. When I saw the blurb for this book it had my fingers twitching and I needed it like air. And guess who wasn’t disappointed. I was amazed, shocked, disturbed but most of all in love. 4 stars!!

“My love life was nothing more than a series of unfortunate events – unfortunate, lousy, pathetic events. Was I that much of a loser?”

This is the book that we lovers of the Port Fare series have been waiting for, finally it was “Booker Time” and it didn’t disappoint. I fell in love with all the characters of this series in Unlovable (Book One) and while that book remains my favourite of this series, this one comes a close second.“My

Sherry Gammon is brilliant, I mean it, she has taken such amazing characters and forever left their amazing stories embedded in my heart an soul. I haven't read such an amazing series that was full of love, thrill, excitement and sadness all in one. This is a series filled with love, fight and pure strength, it was lighter in the romance category for me but I enjoyed every minute of it. The build up in each book was exciting and intense, you weren't 100% sure of which way she would go. Each stor ...more

I’m so excited that this trilogy has a finale and that Booker gets his turn at romance. Booker has been my favourite character the whole series, and this book makes me very happy. It’s filled with humour and love and adventure. Everything I wanted for a finale.

This was a sweet read. Even though reading about Tess’ past was heartbreaking, her continual urge to be comfortable with herself and her present was very rewarding. Booker was such a strong supporter of Tess that it was impossi

Excellent book, I loved Booker and Tess's Story...they both went through a lot of pain but in the end it showed that no matter how bad problems can get, LOVE prevails. I was overjoyed for Seth and Maggie and very happy for Cole and Lilah. I was happy to read about their children. I'm sorry that the series is over. I'll have to read all three again and again, that's how great of a story they are. Can't wait to see the movie about the first book, Unlovable...Looking forward to seeing it come alive ...more

Loved this book. Loved Booker in all the books and this one just tipped me over the edge.
I saw the little mind game Sherry Gammon used at the end of the book regarding Maggie and I swear I stopped breathing for a moment there. LOL.
Sneaky Sherry! Great Read!
I loved this story for its honesty and the raw human elements of Booker and Tess's story. I could not put it down. I love the whole series and the connection that Sherry Gammon is able to create in her writing. Great read!

My Thoughts

I'm still reeling from this book.  I stayed up late last night to finish it and I know I should give myself a couple of days to write my thoughts down, but I just can't help it.  I'm too excited to talk about it.

Have you ever been in the middle of a book so good that when you're away from your book trying to carry on a conversation with other people (or at least pretending you're listening to them) or trying to concentrate on work or whate Have

Unbearable is the third novel in the Port Fare series, this time following Booker and Tess. Booker finds himself drawn to the woman at the hospital who seems afraid of her own shadow and who will faint whenever she sees blood. Finally deciding that the hospital was too much for her, she got a new job working as Booker's secretary. They grow closer and closer until their haunted pasts come back to drive them apart.

This was my favorite book in the Port Fare series; I couldn't put it down. I loved

Unbearable by Sherry Gammon

Four and a half stars

I got a little bit behind on this series. I read the first one Unlovable a few weeks after it came out and of course fell in love with Maggie and Seth. It took me a while to find out more about this author and when I found her, I learned she had two more out!

Onto the actual review...

I had been wondering about Booker when I read Unlovable. He was one of those characters that I couldn't wait t
This was an amazing, heart-wrenching, inspiring conclusion to the Port Fare Series following the lives of 3 friends. This is Booker Gatto’s story, one of my all-time favorite characters. He’s endured his share of tragedies in his life, and has sworn off women. He has an impossible list of requirements of what ‘his’ perfect woman must have…but when he employs Tess as his new secretary, she miraculously fits the bill. Tess’s character has been through horrific domestic abuse with her ex-husband, G ...more

I love the cover, and the series. I enjoyed seeing Booker and Tess get together...finally. Unbearable just felt a bit darker than the other two books. One of the things I've loved about the Port Faire Series is that Sherry Gammon manages to take dark subjects (emotional abuse, drug abuse) and still write an upbeat story. In this case, the theme of spouse abuse was the hardest to read. I really felt Tess' pain, and that was something I would never wish upon anyone. While the story was still well ...more
My Bookbag by Karen
This book is so well-written. It is really the story of Booker and Tess… and their story is very well told.

While the first two books of the series do feature couples, the women’s stories/backstories are the ones that are more raw and exposed. In writing Unbearable, Gammon reveals the brutal, ugly pasts of both Booker and Tess. It is easy to see how those pasts pull them together and still push them apart. Their emotional journeys are quite compelling.

That's what I'm talking about! As much as I disliked the first book and Booker himself, I loved this book and grew to love him and the others as well. Of course it's still silly and unbelievably cute but it's nice to read something like this sometimes. The characters were a little bit more layered in this one, the current problem (domestic abuse) was much more believable than the drog business. And Tess was not just okay but a good character - and I'm not the fan of female characters.
