Opposing the Cowboy is book two in the Hometown Heroes series by Margo Bond Collins. I was generously provided this book by the author for an honest review.

There is so much I want to tell you about LeeAnn Walker. She is a yoga instructor, works part time for her best friend Kylie at Kylie’s shop, Cowbelles, and lives on the ranch she inherited from her Grandmother. She loves the ranch more than anything and the legacy she promised to protect. Especially to protect it from the sleazy man who keep

LeeAnn inherited her grandma's ranch. An oil company has been after her to allow them to drill on her land but she refuses, she doesn't want the land ruined and wants everything to stay beautiful and natural. Jonah works for the oil company that wants to drill on LeeAnn's land and he's sent to town to talk her into drilling and finding out if she actually hold the mineral rights for drilling.

I really enjoyed this story. Jonah and LeeAnn meet in a really funny and sweet way that hooked

LeeAnn Walker is working two jobs and still struggling to make ends meet, has been recently been dumped by her newly engaged ex boyfriend, and now on top of all of that she has to fight with an oil company over mineral rights on her land. After a rather rough morning, LeAnn heads to the local diner for a bite to eat, and ends up running into her ex boyfriend, and while trying to flee the diner without him spotting her, she ends up stumbling into the arms of her own personal superman Jonah Hamilt ...more

Loved this book! LeeAnn is hilarious and her inner dialogue had me chuckling throughout the book. She's working to be a full time yoga instructor, working in her friends gift shop, and trying with all she has to take care of the beloved ranch her grandmother left to her. Trying to show her no good cheating ex that she's moved on, she lays a big kiss on the sexy cowboy behind her in line. She's shocked the next day when she finds out that cowboy is none other than Jonah Hamilton, the other no goo ...more
I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from Entangled Publishing for an honest review. This book was great and had a little of everything - great chemistry between the characters; instant attraction but a slow build for their relationship; humor; a touch of angst to make your stomach drop when there's a big misunderstanding; tiny bit of suspense to find out what would happen with the land; strong female supporting characters; and extremely likable characters.

LeeAnn was immediately a

Opposing the Cowboy was a fun, sweet romantic read.

Loved LeeAnn and Superman oops I mean Jonah, they were both such fun and lovable characters. From their first meeting I knew these two would be perfect for each other.
They both made this a fun, heartfelt and entertaining read, highly recommend this book.

Thank you Entangled Bliss via Netgalley for the advance copy.

Itsy Bitsy Book Bits
Opposing the Cowboy by Margo Bond Collins is such a heart-warming book with coamplex characters, romance, and family loyalty. LeeAnn Walker has just discovered that she was dumped by “Darrell Cheating Jerkwad Vincent” because he is marrying someone else. She feels hurt, betrayed, and angry but when she sees Darrell at the local restaurant she moves so fast to get out of there that she “smacked into a muscled wall of masculine chest-then bounced right back off, her arms pin wheeling for a moment” ...more

“By the time LeeAnn moved into the small space, his face was solemn. Her gray eyes were wide, and she very carefully looked at nothing but his eyes, even though he hadn’t taken off anything other than his shirt. He leaned back against the sink, his hands propping him up as he waited to see what she would do next.”

4 stars, this is such a great series, and this book was no less than perfect!! The love story is intense and so romantic.

Asshat. Margo had me at Asshat. (I'll give you a hint - it's the first word in the book and one of my favorite swear words *grin*) And loving Cowboys like I do, it had been no stretch for me to want to read this book. But imagine my delight when I realized it takes place right over in Cowtown! That's right, Fort Worth, TX. Now I don't live in Ft. Worth but I live close and love to visit the Stockyards anytime I can. Listening to LeeAnn describe some of Jonah's attire, I could totally picture him ...more

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. "Opposing the Cowboy" by Margo Bond Collins is the second book in the Hometown Heroes series. It can be read as a standalone. This is the first book in the series that I've read. The author hooks you from the beginning. LeeAnn Walker is a yoga instructor but is also a cowgirl and a vegetarian. Her boyfriend broke up with her and is already engaged to someone else. She had inherited her grandmother's ranch an ...more

Opposing the Cowboy is a very sweet read full of heart. LeeAnn is a quirky, yoga loving, veggie eating softie with a heart of gold. She was a delightful character. She is one you could see yourself being friends with. She makes others around her feel comfortable. Just a genuine person. I loved her character when she was at home, so relaxed and happy.

Jonah was an honest to goodness awesome man. And when described as a Henry Cavill resembling man. nothing else needs to be said. That is how I pictu

Opposing the Cowboy was everything I wanted it to be. Every element that I look for in a romance. It was part of a series, funny, sexy and it had characters that were not push overs. Jonah and LeAnn were an ignitable pair from the start. They just had to work through the roadblocks that threw their burgeoning relationship off course. Ms. Collins did what she set out to do. She entertained and told a wonderful story. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What happens when a yoga loving vegetarian free spirit meets a sexy superman cowboy A great Love story! LeeAnn and Jonah could not be farther apart in thinking and life but from that first crazy in the Diner kiss you know that these two characters are going to be fun, sweet and definitely sexy. Doubt, trust issues and an undeniable attraction keep you turning the pages. I loved the way the author let us read and feel the struggles both characters were having in their heads.

Margo is new to me but a delightful surprise. I am giddy at having another author on my list of those to read.

LeeAnn was a quirky girl at least that’s what Jonah thinks. He is at a loss of what to do at first when he finds out Leeann uses “yoga as a nervous habit.”

This romance is wonderfully played out and the ending was a surprise worth reading to get too.

This book was one of those books that held my attention for sure. I liked the story and all the characters. I could see things were going to be a roller coaster from the beginning and I wasn't wrong. It was so weird to me that LeeAnn did "nervous yoga" all the time. It made me laugh throughout the book. Jonah could come be my Superman any time. :)

I will definitely be reading more from this author. I love the way the story flowed and the storyline.

This is a really cute and engaging story from the very first page. Poor LeeAnn has been dumped and she keeps getting these phone calls from someone(Jonah our hero) who claims the mineral rights on the ranch that LeeAnn inherited. It's a quirky, cute but sexy story that even though it is the second book in the series you don't have to have read the first one to thoroughly enjoy this story.

This was an amazing cowboy romance, but definitely not tour ordinary cowboy or your traditional Texas girl. I loved this quirky story and the trials they face to find love are realistic in the day and age. I truly enjoyed reading about Jonah and LeeAnne, and I hope you take a chance on them and love it too.

Excellent enemies to lovers, opposites attract book. Characters were likable and real. Issue they fought over was a controversial one that's in the news these days. Took me awhile to warm up to the heroine, but in the end I was in her corner. Great summer read.

Cowboys are a huge weakness for me, to a point where if I even see the word in a book title I will gravitate towards it and want to read it not even seeing what it was about. Sometimes it works out for me and sometimes it doesn't. I can't seem to figure out exactly where Opposing the Cowboy fits in that situat

Total adorableness! I loved LeeAnn's "unconscious yoga habit"--too cute. And Jonah...oh, yes, please. When LeeAnn and Kylie (heroine of Taming the Country Star ) are having the "which Superman does the hot guy you kissed to make your ex jealous look like" conversation? Fantastic.
"I mean, are we talking the nineteen fifties television Superman? Because honestly?" Kylie pursed her lips and shook her head. "Not so hotso."

"No. Not that one." With a nod of thanks to the waitress who had set down the

There are times when I just want a simple love story. A guy, a gal, some conflict that is believable, some sexiness, and a resolution that equals boy gets girl and they live happy ever after.

And that is exactly what I got in Opposing the Cowboy, and then some. When LeeAnn spotted the no good snake that dumped her sitting with his new intended bride at the restaurant she acted on impulse. She turned around and kissed the hot cowboy standing in line behind her… an

Opposing the Cowboy was a nice romance. It was entertaining enough if not a bit clichéd… I’m not sure if that is the right word, predictable comes to mind too, at the same time it had some elements that were a bit too unbelievable to it.

LeeAnn is a yoga instructor in the making, with very bad luck lately, who lives at her grandmother’s ranch. And to top it all there’s an oil company trying to drill there.

Jonah works for said oil company and is sent to town to find

I love Margo Bond Collins’ books and so of course I jumped at the chance to review Opposing the Cowboy. Unfortunately, Opposing the Cowboy just didn’t work for me. Don’t get me wrong. The writing is as good as ever, but the story itself bothered me a lot. As an adopted European where even the most conservative is still liberal in an American’s point of view, I had a hard time with Jonah’s take on LeeAnn. Because she taught yoga and was opposed to mining on her land, she was a hippy. And boy was ...more

Opposing the Cowboy is the second book in the Hometown Heroes series by Margo Bond Collins and is about a young woman desperately trying to protect her ranch and land from being infiltrated by an oil and gas company and is being represented by their landman. This is a story which hooks the reader from the start. You feel you should really dislike the hero, Jonah, but despite his intentions you find him endearing, especially when he sticks up for LeeAnn. She seems something of a daydreamer, unworldly and naive but only trusts people to let her down not to support her, expecting to be hurt and too often it seems she’s right. The story has a brilliant start, a great plot and superb epilogue, all in all a fantastic read that I highly recommend to anyone ...more

“I’ve made a deal with this devil. An amazingly handsome devil.”

This is the first book I read of this series and I enjoyed it. This story was sweet, funny and the characters were memorable. There was only one thing that I have to say I didn’t like and that was the pace of the story. I know that characters have to get to know each other and knew that LeAnn was going to have a hard time trusting Jonah but I really can’t say what it was. I really wanted to get into the story and at times I did espe
