Mercy's Rescue by Debra Holt is a wonderful warm story of faith and family, and I was blessed to receive a copy.
Mercy is a nurse in the emergency helicopter service, always flying in to help people. Sheriff Josh is injured in a shooting, and he sees Mercy as his very own angel. No matter how much she tries to avoid him, life just keeps throwing then together. Mercy has previously lost the two loves of her life in accidents, so now she guards her heart to prevent further heartbreak. Mercy feels s

I am so in love with this book, guys. It's sweet and fun and my face hurt from smiling while I was reading it but, at the same time, it's also incredibly emotional. There are some sad parts, of course, and some scary basically like life.

I loved Mercy immediately. She's got a kickass job where she's basically a superhero, flying around as leader of an air evac trauma team and saving lives. She's smart and funny, too. And then she meets Josh, when he's a patient she's rescuing. They're i

I enjoyed this book!

I thought that Mercy was loveable even though she was "stuck" and not "living" due to things in her past, namely her father's and her fiancés death. When she transports a patient to the hospital and he calls her an qngel and then later runs into her, sparks fly. Josh and Mercy's journey to love was bumpy, but well-written written and definitely worth the read.

Deb’s Dozen: Extra! Air Evac EMT Mercy Smith Rescues Sheriff Josh Wellman: Sheriff Will Survive.

Mercy Smith has seen her share of trauma. As an Air Evacuation EMT on the trauma team, she has seen the worst situations life has to offer. In her personal life, she has seen them, too. Both her father and her fiancé, David, were gunned down in freak shootings. She’s never recovered from losing them and has lost her faith as well. After all, God allowed them to die.

It was a cute book. Mercy got on my nerves in the beginning she was selfish with her mother. I loved josh's character. But I understood why she was stand offish with him thinking he had a fiance. I think she was just scared because of losing her fiance.

Love filled, from beginning to end. Couldn't put it down.

The best story I have read in a while. Kept my interest from very beginning. I love a good, clean story.

The gunshot wounds of the Sherriff of a nearby county were critical. Mercy Smith was a first responder on the medical helicopter who flight-lifted him to the hospital. She didn’t usually follow up on her rescued patients, but his eyes were blue, and they were quite mesmerizing.
Why did Mercy make a choice to follow this particular patient in ICU? What was different about the one who called her his angel?
Even though Mercy had experienced past issues of love and faith which caused her to be overl

Mercy's Rescue is my first book by Debra Holt and I'm happy I found it. Ms Holt has delivered a well-written book that is truly a great read. Her characters in this book are amazing. Totally lovable. Mercy and Josh's story is full of drama, action, humor and spice. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Debra Holt in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Have Mercy! What a great story!

Mercy is the epitome of a strong-willed female who wants to do things her way. I identified with her from the beginning. Debra Holt's characters and story will wrap you in romance and confound you with their persistence. I look forward to her next book!
You have to believe in love at first sight

This book was only ok. There really wasn't any character development. So their entire relationship was built on an eye lock during an air evacuation. I won't even start on the idea that they are going to find someone in Las Vegas by calling or visiting hotels and wedding chapels!
I understand Mercy's fears and need to protect her heart, but she didn't come across as a pleasant person. I was glad to see her return to her faith, but she seemed to selfish and irritable for Josh.

Heart touching

This is a sweet romance that will sweep you along. The story is familiar and the characters delightful but sometime that’s exactly what you are in the mood for. Enjoy

This romance is really fun, romantic, touching, surprisingly intense read. Since the first pages, I fell in love with the deep blue eyes of Josh, have come into his life and in that of Mercy and I did not want get out of them.
For Mercy the job the job is the most important thing. She is a rescuer and working on helicopters, often has to struggle against death to bring the wounded to their families. She knows very well that first aid are essential to save lives and believes that the prayers in th

This was a story that started out to be awesome--the premise of the connection between Josh and Mercy on the life flight and initially at the hospital! Even the whole fiancé thing was interesting. So to that point, the story was great.

Then when the whole Vegas trip/parent marriage came up, it became a completely different story for me. I tried to withhold judgment but the downhill slide began. It became more of a road-trip story with a lot of bickering and all the connection of the first chapte

My rating is 5 stars.
If you’re one who looks at the length of the novel to decide whether or not to read it, don’t be fooled either way about this one! There is a lot packed into the pages of Mercy’s Rescue! You will find a very dedicated flight nurse named Mercy who is hoping to save the life of a sheriff who has been severely wounded. What she hasn’t counted on is how the sheriff makes her insides quake and her well bu

Josh has strong faith and he knows that life has no promise. When Josh is facing life or death after a ambush he finds himself face to face with the most beautiful face and he's not sure if he is dreaming but he knows one thing for sure he needs this face in his life. Mercy is sure about one thing there is a higher power but she has little faith in anything other then her self. She is sick of being hurt and heart broken and she knows that nothing can change that only problem is life keeps throwi ...more

The plot of this book was solid and I especially enjoyed the perspective of a med-evac nurse. I didn't mind the love at first sight angle, but the romance didn't feel fully developed. The cockiness of the sheriff was charming... most of the time. His perspective was introduced midway through the story- I think it would have felt more balanced to have been earlier on. Mercy is a strong and independent character who has hidden vulnerabilities that rise to the surface when Josh stirs up feelings th ...more

This Debra Holt read is a first for me, but I'd look forward to reading more because her story line is believable. The characters, Mercy Smith, an e-vac (evacuation, life flight) nurse and Josh Wellman, a county sheriff, are introduced rapidly through Mercy's point of view. I was glad the author pulled Josh's viewpoint front and center for interest and tension.
Debra's strength in Mercy's Rescue is sensory captivation. Descriptions are full and let the reader linger in each scene. I like that bec

She loves her dangerous work while helping people when her crew comes to the rescue of people needing quick transport to the hospital. She is also using her high stress job to hide from life due the the violent death of both her father and financé.

On a rescue she meets Joshua Wellman an local Sheriff that has been shot several times in the line of duty. She is immediately drawn to this bright blue eyes and when he

I was given a copy by the author, Debra Holt, for my honest review.
Mercy's Rescue is an at times exciting, at times touching love story of two characters, Mercy and Josh, who were brought together under very unusual circumstances. I was surprised by the heroine's occupation as a helicopter rescue worker. This is definitely not typical of most female characters, so kudos to the author for stepping outside the box. Mercy is the most complex character in the story, and we see her struggle to let g

Mercy's Rescue by Debra Holt

This Christian fiction romance was light read.
Like a Hallmark Channel movie, the ending was predictable,
but plenty of twists and turns to get there.
Flight Nurse Mercy thought she had her life down pat -
a job she loved and a happy kitty at home.
And then one accident victim - a sheriff - came into her life...
who never seems to leave her alone.
Mercy, though, has a past that has allowed her to build up a wall.
Who will really rescue who in the end?

This was a fun, quick, and enjoyable read filled with action, intensity, and romance.
The character development was well thought out, and the details within the story make you feel like you are a part of it, rather than a reader. I enjoyed the depth and excitement that the characters’ careers added. The fluidity of the story line keeps the book moving along nicely. The element of faith makes the story clean, wholesome, and inspiring. I appreciate an author who can write a sweet romance that inclu

Mercy's Rescue is a delightful contemporary story of Mercy, an air medical nurse, and Sheriff Josh who she meets when he is shot multiple times by drug dealers. Both of the protagonists are strong professionals who do not see their jobs as dangerous. Josh and Mercy's keep being thrown together when her mother and Josh's stepfather announce their engagement! The parents were both wonderful characters as well. I thoroughly enjoyed Mercy's Rescue which I received through Lighthouse Publishing of th ...more

Debra Holt's Mercy's Rescue was a great read. From the moment Mercy Ann Smith arrives at crime scene to medevac Sheriff Josh Wellman, I was hooked. Ms. Holt does an awesome job in grabbing your attention from the beginning. She also had loveable characters. The story is mostly told in Mercy's pov although Josh has a few pov scenes. I look forward to her next novel.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was really good. An air ambulance nurse meets a sheriff when he is shot in the line of duty and gets him safely to the hospital in time to save his life. Then he turns out to be the stepson of the man her mom is planning to marry. They are thrown together repeatedly and fall in love, but their jobs and the danger that the expose them each to becomes a stumbling block that they must find a way around. Very poignant and moving. Read it.
