Conduit #2

Sleeping with the Beast

Rate this book
Sleeping with the Beast The war between Conduits and Supplicants is turned inside out when Charisse and Abram learn who’s in bed with who.

After narrowly surviving a murderous mob, curvy Conduit/Supplicant Charisse and alpha Beast Abram escape to the remote island of Grimoult, where their relaxing vacation soon turns into a sinister suicide mission.

People have been jumping from the island cliff in record numbers, but Charisse and Abram aren’t convinced these deaths are really suicides. Especially once they learn all the jumpers share the same dream-vision of a beautiful woman three days before their fall. Now it’s up to Charisse and Abram to find out what this “Sleeping Beauty” has to do with the suicides.

Their search for answers leads them to the island king’s castle, where the beauty and her beast find themselves at the mercy of a kinky ruler whose sexist mentality and BDSM fetishes soon begin to rub off on the pair. But time is cut short when Charisse sees Sleeping Beauty for herself, marking her as the next suicide victim and leaving her only three days until her death.

Hunt or Be Hunted

Beasts have infiltrated the towns. The cities. The government.

Blood will be spilled. Wars will be fought. Magic will be bartered.

And there's only one person who can bridge the worlds between Conduits and Supplicants.

Book 2 just as good as one

Book 2 was as good as book 1. Excellent writing, and story realization. Character development, likeability, believability, and relationships perfect. This book series so far has been a great experience, and leaves me wanting more. The next book is supposed to be out in the spring, so I will be checking tomorrow to see if it's out, crossing my fingers in hopes that it is. I hate the thought I might have to wait to continue reading this series. I highly recommended this series it's wonderful, and has everything one could want in a book.

YOU'VE NEVER READ A FAIRYTALE LIKE THIS ONE

Unlike some of you, I never connected the dots of this series being a modern-day paranormal fairytale from reading the first book. With this one, I get it. And what a tale it is!

Sleeping Beauty - with a dash of Sherlock Holmes - this book is different than any I have ever had the pleasure to read. I can't get too much into the plot without letting something slip, so let me just tell you how I feel about this book. I absolutely LOVED it! Highly entertaining, I was captivated by every single page.

People say that all fairytales have a basis in fact. So what would you do if you happened to get pulled into the real story of your favorite childhood tale? Even if it wasn't as sweet as you were taught? Would you be able to safely navigate a centuries old feud without losing what you hold dear? How about if your life was on the line? Oh, and you had only a few days to figure it all out before your time was up?

If any of this makes you curious, you DEFINITELY don't want to miss this book.

Even though I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, I can honestly say that I will be purchasing the rest of the series as each book is available. It's just that good.

I received ARC version for honest review and like the first one of the Conduit series book I took me inside it as soon as i started to read it and I couldn't stop reading it before I was finished!

In Sleeping with the Beast Charisse Bellamy and Abram start investigating mysterious deaths where people have thrown themselves from the cliffs and their skin had been scarred by the text ''She Sleeps''. To do so Abram needs to pretend to be royal to gain the trust of the King, while Charisse needs to pretend to be his mistress.

Pretending to be someone else takes a lot from Charisse, who starts question what is real and what is not. Secrets and people from her past starts to come in light, which will unveil more about her and what kind of person she was in the past.

In this story you can read different version of Sleeping Beauty than you have ever read before! I personally found it really interesting, which made me actually read different versions of Sleeping Beauty from internet and to be honest I think the story in this book makes everything much more interesting. There were just couple parts in this book that I didn't like, like the King and what Abram needed to do to pretend to be the Prince, but then again I think it was important for the plot to do so.

This book is not my normal type of read. That being said I really enjoyed it. The Sleeping Beauty part of this book certainly pulls me in since I love all things Disney;-)
Charisse and Abram are supposed to be on vacation, but when people are found jumping off a cliff to their death, the two know they are there for another reason. They meet all different people in this tale and need to figure out how they all play into the plan. Who is the one behind all of these people jumping off the cliff and why? Will they be able to figure things out or will they be sucked into this fairy tale of sorts? Will their love for one another be enough to break the spell? Or will they lose each other and be alone forever? Read it to find out...

Awesome book two! We are back with Charisse and Abram at a small island to vacation, but if course there is something going on that they need to figure out. I so loved how they bring the fairytales to life and updated with the magic twist. We learn about Sleeping Beauty and they now have to figure out why people are dying with She Sleeps carved on their heads. The story is so captivating, it keeps you reading and loving the characters even more. Charisse is finally learning her abilities and it is so much fun to read about. The ending is crazy and I can't wait for book three.

Well this story continues on in the same exciting blood chilling way as was the set for book one. What starts as a gentle story winds up into a frenetic fight for Charisse's life and ends with an absolute bomb shell statement. This book is full of humorous one liners and quick wit and had me smiling at the dialogue all the way through. Sophisticated story and concentration is required to get the best of the story. Well written and a definite buy to continue this series

I received this for my honest review, I wasn't disappointed this is a Sleeping Beauty with a twist tale. I won't do spoilers but will say this is a must read if you enjoyed the first one. They are on holiday supposed to get away from it all and recuperation from their previous adventure, but that doesn't happen weird things are happening and of course they have to take a closer look......... be prepared to be on the edge of your seat

Just finished "Sleeping with the Beast " I loved the storyline, fairytale on steroids, it was fun, adventurous, mysterious and filled with tons of the supernatural. Disclaimers needed - as 18+++ is a must. Some very erotic situations which may have been a little over the top (insert blush here) but well written. I look forward to the next book!

Sleeping Beauty will never be the same....A spin so different it is worth reading. Book 2 proves to be better than the first.

Charisse and Abram thought they were due for a vacation. A break from everything that happened in New Haven. Wrong! Now they must figure out how to stop people from throwing themselves off a cliff.

The love between Charisse and Abram grows. It is written with such emotions that you can’t help but feel what they are going through. You are rooting for them all the way. Can’t help but feel for the other characters. Some more than others (won’t spoil things).

After the drama and action in the prebivous book you would think that Charisse would slow down relax and have a bit of time with her love after being chased by a mob ...but no she finds herself in the centre of more drama ....not that she wants to but it just seems to find her....Charisse and Abram find themselves in a war between conduits and supplicants and find it hard to trust anyone as everyone keeps changing sides... in this book Charisse and Abram need to find the real Sleeping Beauty to solve a 500 year mystery ....
I definitely recommend this book to all

Abram and Charisse travel to Grimoult for a vacation. Very strange things are happening in the town and they have to figure out what is going on. They stay with the King, pretending Abram is a prince from a rival island. The castle has protection that prevents magic inside so Abram is free from changing into the beast at night, but he keeps guard over Charisse. The king is acting strange and they have to figure out how he is involved with all that is going on at the little island. Very good read with action, adventure, an hea and poetic justice.

Nothing ever turns out the way you think it will! SO much for a vacation when you are thrown back into time and things aren’t as they seem. There are so many twists to the original and Charisse is learning about her powers. New characters were introduced and of course the action and intensity of the story will have your emotions all over the place. A great continuation from book 1. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow!!! What a story. This is the second book of a series. And even more intense than the first.
Char and Abram have so much going on. They try to take a vacation after everything that has happened to them and get thrown into a Sleeping Beauty story. I couldn’t wait to see how they got out of it and who was causing all of the problems. Love that Char starts to be able to tap into more of her powers. The end is a real twist and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

This is the 2nd book in the Conduit Series by Kressly & Hamilton. This series is a steamy, paranormal romance retelling of Beauty and the Beast like you have never seen before. The books must be read in order to be able to follow the story. I love this series so much, and I can just tell you this is a series you will want to binge read!

When char and Abram go away on holiday, they don’t expect to find people jumping to their deaths. All of them 3 days after they dream about a woman. They decide to look into it but things take a turn for the worse when char dreams about sleeping beauty. Meaning they have 3 days before she dies to solve it.

This is well written and has lots of action

OMG! So Good!
This second installment in the “Conduit” series is to die for. The intensity and drama captures your attention and holds it through the humor, anger, action, and emotional upheaval to the last page. This rollercoaster ride of monsters, new characters to love or hate, and Charisse’s magic is getting stronger and stronger. This tale is amazing, I could not put it down. A definite 5 Star tale!

In the first book we meet Beauty and the Beast and learn about supplicants and conduits. In this book we learn the twist on sleeping beauty. You have the King, sleeping beauty the evil stepmother and people dying in the island of Grimoult. I really liked the ending to this book, it was very fitting and the lead in to the next book was funny. A good read.

This is the 4th book I've read written by Rebecca Hamilton; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the second book in the Conduit Series; this is similar to Sleeping Beauty; Charisse and Abram are on the remote island Grimoult but everyone else is leaving the island because there have been a lot of women that are jumping from the island cliff but they aren’t convinced it’s suicide.

Missing the mark. Could have been better

This second in series was again quite good but still missed the mark in some ways. I found the characters quite flat though the story wasn't bad at all. It left me feeling disappointed.

This to me was such a much better read than book one. The Beauty has more of her stuff together and Beast is sexy as heck. The pair are off on an adventure when their quiet getaways turns out to be anything but. Exciting and thrillingly steamy.

Second book in the series. After saving the world and her home town all Charisse wants is a vacation with her man. But it seems fate doesn’t think they need a break. The curse of sleeping beauty will become real for them as Charisse continues to learn about her new powers. Her love life will have some ups and downs but those two would die for each other.
