Sweeping through the glitz and glamour of New York’s high society and the drama unfolding in the dressing rooms of Broadway, Wrapped, by Juliet Braddock, continues the journey of a young theatrical publicist’s foray into submission under the tutelage of a dashingly dark star of the stage. Wrapped—the much anticipated sequel to Braddock’s critically acclaimed erotic romance Weakened—is the second book in the Manhattan Bound series.

When Drew McKenzie presents Maxine Kirk with an ultimatum, challenging her to engage in his wanton brand of desire, she readily embraces her awakening hunger for a lifestyle that defies her perceptions of romance.

Entranced by Drew’s charming appeal and by his sensual assault to her senses, Maxine clamors to discover every nuance of this new relationship, ravenous to explore verboten fantasies that seem possible to fulfill only with Drew.

Along the way, he introduces her to his glamorous world of wealth and celebrity—where lavish galas and luxurious gifts are the norm—and entices her into his realm of control with his tender mode of domination.

All the while, however, they both grapple with painful emotions brought about by the extenuating circumstances of their separate pasts.

While Drew remains both confident and conscientious in his parlay of power over Maxine, his own tragic secret lurks in every shadow upon his path in life. Behind the façade of his stage persona and the origin of old Manhattan society, he struggles to hide the unforgiving reality he faced as a child.

Just as Maxine finds the strength to conquer her own torment with Drew’s patience and guidance leading her toward closure, terrifying truths begin to chip away at the surface of his composure.

As the nightmarish details of Drew’s unimaginable life emerge, he fears that this new world he’d begun to build with Maxine will crumble around him.

As Maxine finds herself embroiled in the battle to save Drew’s tortured soul from the atrocities that continue to stalk his every move, two lost souls struggling to find comfort and completion converge.

However, as Drew opens his heart to Maxine’s unwavering support, he questions his own bravery, wondering if she’ll take a bow and make her exit…or if she’ll stick around for the encore?

**This is a work of EROTIC FICTION with elements of BDSM. Although there are characters within the story who are in their early 20s, this series is in no way categorized as New Adult.**

I won’t go into how Maxine and Drew met because you’ve read about it in Diana’s review of Weakened. Let me tell you instead why I loved this book.

First of all, a little something about the characters.

I loved every single one of them.

Drew is fascinating, charismatic, funny and a hopeless romantic. His way of behaving even when he’s in Dom mode is so sweet. He takes such good care of Maxine and he’s so tender.

Maxine. Life hasn’t been very kind to her but she’s strong and, with the support of her loved ones, she is finally following her dream. Little did she know how much she will achieve when she took that bus to New York.

Ben. He’s the best friend a girl, hell, ANYONE could ask for. He’s there for Maxine every step of the way even when he himself could use some love and tenderness. And he’s such a hoot. The guy has no filter but it’s just a part of his charm and it suits him perfectly. Aaaand, HE’S MINE!! Seriously, don’t make me fight you.

In Wrapped we see Maxine and Drew’s relationship evolve, we see them evolve and change.

Maxine is embracing her new role as a submissive under the careful and caring guide of her lover.

Drew is finally opening up, at least to her, about his past and his fears. Step by step, they start the process of healing each other.

You’ll also get to meet Drew’s family and his older brother Adam. He’s a very … colorful character and he kind of steals the show. You’ll love him.

One of the things I loved about this book: no useless, senseless drama. No ditzy heroine who’s falling all over herself to please the guy she likes. No insta-love.

This is a slow building story that will pull you in from the beginning and won’t let go until you’re done.

Maxine is strong, she knows what she wants and follows her dream. She might be an innocent when it comes to sex, but this girl is no pushover.

Drew’s start in life has been rough but he hasn’t allowed his past to ruin his future. He might have his demons, but he keeps a good grip on that part and it doesn’t let it interfere with his life.

He’s successful, he’s chosen to follow his own dreams instead on taking his wealth for granted and he has no problem in creating new relationships and forging new bonds.

His relationship with Maxine is healthy. The BDSM side of it is something they both enjoy and not just a sick, twisted way for him to prove something.

He doesn’t feel the need to own her to prove his manliness.

Another great thing about these books is how Juliet made the city feel like a character. The descriptions are so accurate, it felt like I was walking the streets myself.

This series it’s totally worth it and I can’t wait to read Knotted. Is it September yet?

We highly recommend!

Love and passion is what brings us back to Maxine and Drew's story. Drew is slipping back into the darkness that has held him captive. Now more than ever the love that Maxine has for him may be the only thing that brings him back from the brink.
This book is more moving and exciting than the last. It will have you in tears, hoping that Drew and Maxine come from the darkness.
I love the excitement and caring they bring to each others loves, making them perfect for one another, even as he fights to believe it.

And they're all back! Are dear sweet Maxine is anything but under the tutelage of Sir Drew. She would've never considered a Dominant/submissive relationship, especially after her internet research, which Drew was a little unsure if she should do but it did give her a foundation to start asking questions. Once they start playing though, Maxine can't seem to get enough. Whether she's rewarded or punished, she's truly in pure bliss. Each and every day she's falling deeper and deeper in love with this man. He can play his roles well, but when they are all peeled away, the deep nurturing and caring he has for Maxine has her falling all over again. The only thing she can't get used to is dating a man of wealth and popularity. She hates splurging money on something that they don't really need, which makes Drew all the more sure that she is the real deal. She loves him for who he is, not his bank account or what his name can do for her. And he finds that he needs that love and her ability to hold him through the hard times like never before. Now that Maxine is on the right track with her past, Drew's comes back to haunt him. Everyone knows that he was the child who was kidnapped and returned when he was five, but no one knows the details not eve the McKenzie's. He's shut everyone out and has internalized all that pain and one day the walls he's built around that pain come crashing down with a news story that rocks his world. Everyone thinks this pain will be too much for Maxine to endure. Maxine has never been one to walk away from a challenge and she's determined not to walk away from this and she will do exactly what Drew did to her. Take control from him because he has no control over himself or his emotions and she will be his rock.

I would suggest reading the books in order so you understand or otherwise you will completely out of order. So in this book, a lot of things happen. Drew is continuing Maxine sub training, he has his hands full with her. She likes to sass, tease and not even listen at times. He does a lot of punishing her but she enjoys every minute of it. They are also moving on in their relationship, meeting the parents and siblings. He meets Papa Kirk which is rough in the beginning but Drew wins him over. Maxine on the other hand has already met Drew's parents but she's yet to meet his brother Adam. Adam is in a class of his own, he wears whatever he feels like including a very colorful vest to a broadway show. Think frat boy when you read Adam. Drew's Aunt Frannie is hilarious, she losing her mind due to Alzheimer's and says whatever she feels like including calling Maxine a whore and slut. The family dinner was truly hilarious, one of the best parts of the book. Ben is still going strong including hooking up with Jeffery, Maxine's boss and Drew's best friend. Maxine is finally starts working at the PR job, Drew is busy with his broadway show, which includes a leading actress who is difficult to work with. Things are tense right but being with Maxine relaxes him. They are falling in love and committing themselves. They are also experimenting more in the bedroom and finding out what Maxine likes and doesn't like. Drew is still dreaming but Adam will make you fall in love with him and all his frat boy ways... So sit back, drink some wine, listen to Gaga and enjoy this incredible book! Ben will love for it! This book does contain BDSM,so if you aren't whips, chains and other things that go on in dungeon then don't eve start this book, it isn't for you

If I thought a lot happened in the first book of the Manhattan Bound, Weakened, There is so much more in Wrapped. Maxine and Drew's connection is stronger than ever and as they give having a relationship a try, they both are working on their past. They each appear to be exactly the right medicine for each other. A dominant/submissive lifestyle is something that Maxine never would've thought about but with the ever so charming and dominant Drew, it's exactly what she wants and needs. Drew has his work cut out for him and what transpires is full of sexy and funny moments.

Picking up right where Weakened left off, Maxine and Drew are falling for each other more and more. As Maxine gets a glimpse of the glamorous life that comes with dating someone, like Drew, she's a little on edge with all the attention, but she feels her and Drew together are worth it. They both appear to blossom more but their pasts that we learned about in the first book, are not far behind and when more is reveled they are put through a test that is unlike anything they've had to deal with.

The addition of Drew's family and Maxine father in this book give readers a view of the people who have shaped them. Of course with family, comes hilarity, embarrassing stories and funny situations that will have you laughing. Juliet Braddock, gives you a deeper look into not only Maxine's and Drew's lives but those around them including their friends and family. I really enjoyed reading about all these characters and their own personal stories. The Manhattan Bound series continues to be a series worth reading and leaves you eager to get your hands on the next book in the series.

There aren't many books about BDSM relationships that I find myself truly enjoying. The lifestyle is about discipline and submission, two things that many people would not associate with fun. It always comes across as a serious subject.
Julie Braddock has changed that for me and I've never been happier.
WEAKENED and WRAPPED are the first two books in the Manhattan Bound series. The books feature the lives of new college graduate Maxine as she follows her dream of living and working in New York City. Little does she know that more than just a great job awaits her in Manhattan, there's also a great guy, our hunky actor hero, Drew.
There are several themes going at once in the books, not the least of which is BDSM as part of the romance story. But there's more than just sex and bondage in the books, both Drew and Maxine suffer from deep emotional issues that they must overcome with each other's help. The series has some of the most well-developed characters I've seen in a romance novel. Excellent for those readers who want to know the details and delve into the heads of the characters.
Supporting characters add tremendously and the city of New York shines as a backdrop. The humor is great and the BDSM "scenes" are portrayed well, with humor, tenderness and kindness, just as I would expect in a relationship between young lovers.
All in all, the Manhattan Bound series is a fun and enjoyable and I totally recommend it!

Life in the big city…
Drew and Maxine’s story continues in this second in the Manhattan Bound series. Each instalment builds on the last so you definitely want to read them in order. Maxine is diving into many firsts in her new life in New York City. While still struggling with grief, Drew has opened her eyes and her heart to possibilities… She has a new job, a new home and a new boyfriend, and all of them are going to keep her on her toes!
This story is a warm, rolling romp of emotion and family. While Maxine still struggles with feelings of grief and uncertainty, her relationship with Drew continues to grow stronger. There are some interesting twists and turns as the two explore and expand their sexual relationship and strengthen their emotional bond. With family and friends providing support, love and laughter there is a lot going on this lengthy novel set in the Big Apple. Ben and Adam provide comic relief and hidden depths and are two of my favourite characters. Everyone should have Ben for a best friend!
While the pet names used by the main characters grated on me after a while it didn’t lessen the love and feelings behind them. This is only the second of four instalments of this series and I’m looking forward to the next….

In the follow-up to Weakened, Drew and Maxine are in a D/s relationship. Drew is patiently showing Maxine the ins and outs of BDSM as her very attentive tutor. Maxine is soaking up everything her newfound lifestyle has to offer, along with the perks of being with Drew, Broadway star.

You get more into the things that influenced Drew's need for control. You also get to see Maxine gain confidence as she and Drew’s feelings for one another get stronger, and their relationship progresses. Their trust with each other grows, and they’re able to really open up to one another. A beautiful love story—with some kink.

Clearly, Drew is a doll and I’m hopelessly in love with him. But, I have slightly smaller crushes on Ben and Tom. Ben has no filter whatsoever, and Tom is just a great daddy. Adam is an absolute scene-stealer, and hopefully, Juliet will give us more of him in the next book.

Wrapped is the second book in the Manhattan Bound series. Juliet is a wonderful writer, and I love how she uses NYC and the theater as a huge part of this series. I recently found out there will be a third book, so I’m quite excited to see that coming in the near future.

I received this ARC for an honest review, and I give it 4 stars.

Well apparently I can write reviews that have spoilers in them so here is your warning! THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

I enjoyed reading Wrapped. If you haven’t read Weakened you will have wanted to since this is the second book in the Manhattan Bound Series. Drew continues to train Maxine in what I call BDSM 101. He doesn’t want to scare her off with their play so he goes at it slowly but, steadily. There are some HOT scenes in this book as well as there was in Weakened! Maxine is learning to love her BDSM 101 training.

Of course Drew and Maxine are in this whirlwind romance and find they love each other more and more.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn about Drew’s family especially his interaction with his brother Adam (By the way I am secretly in love with Adam). And, I love Maxine’s jokester father, Tom.

All in all a very good read! I was gifted a copy of Wrapped for an honest review. I give Wrapped 4.5 stars.

Oh there will be a book 3 in the Manhattan Bound Series. I hope there will be more on some of the other characters like Ben & Jeffrey, Adam and Jillian and Tom & Vicki. Oh I did get my HEA in Wrapped!

This is the continuation of Drew and Maxine's relationship and Maxine's induction into the BDSM lifestyle. While Weakened focused mainly on Maxine's issues and working on them together to make their relationship stronger, Wrapped is more focussed on Drew. Drew come from a tragic and dark past that continues to haunt him. Many of the things that happened to him, he has never spoken about or really come to terms with. When his past catches up with him, he risks slipping back into the dark. But just as Drew did for her, Maxine is there every step of the way.

An incredibly emotive read that will move with sadness, have you cheering with happiness with the successes, laughing out loud and much more. I loved how this relationship worked, with the give and take from both sides but most importantly knowing what the other needs and being that support. This was the complete package: great story, amazing characters, and a complete world around them that felt natural with an amazing set of friends and family around them that you want to find out more about.

I was excited to read this because its a series. It gives me the opportunity to really step into the lives of these characters and get to know them, however this book is simply to close to the plot of Fifty Shades of Grey. Although the characters are different in what they do, the setting and the surrounding characters, the plot is very much alike to FSOG in that the main character has many deep dark secrets that no one talks about and the female lead is insecure flawed and thinks she is ant good enough. Sound like anyone we know?? The only thing that was new in this book was the emergence of an eating disorder for the main character in which I think was glossed over. The author wrote it like once going to the therapist cured her and they never talk about it again. I think this is a great disservice to anyone suffering with an eating disorder.
I am waiting patiently for the fourth book in this series just to see what the author does when she has no playbook or guide in E.L James to show her the way. I believe that she is going to tie this up in a neat little Happily Ever After Bow just like FSOG.

Where to start with Wrapped... Book two in the Manhattan Bound series definitely took a step up from book one. The writing style was still confusing at times with what characters thoughts you was reading at the time. But the characters did develop a lot more throughout this book. Which allowed me to connect with the character's a lot more. Maxine is finally growing a back bone and becoming a more mature character. I would still like to see more strength and maturity develop into book 3. Drew's character as well has developed tremendously. His character finally opened up his closet of skeletons which takes you completely by surprise. I truly loved the direction the plot is taking. This book didn't hold out on the feels! I still feel as if some things was rushed but the author still made it work. Things have also picked up in the steam department. It as well still has some growing to do but it definitely dived a little deeper into BDSM. Its walking a line between soft and hardcore with the Dom/sub relationship. This series is definitely growing on me. I'm still mixed with my feelings but not enough to keep me from diving into book 3 head first.

After finishing book 1, I went right into book 2. Once you get a taste of Drew and Maxine there isn’t any going back. In this book, Drew and Maxine are continuing to explore their BDSM relationship. Maxine challenges Drew several times but he gives it right back to her.

In this book, both Drew and Maxine meet each other’s families. There were a few times I was laughing so hard I had tears coming down my face. The first time Drew meets Maxine’s dad is a little rough but it gets better. There are times both characters will make you laugh, cry, scream, yell and everything in-between. Can’t wait to continue the series.

Sexy and sweet

The story of Maxine and Drew continues, a sweet story spiced with BDSM, I find the story to be nice. It keeps you engaged but at times the long runs of interior dialogue tend to be a little to much, I find myself wanting to skip over much of it.
While the BDSM is tame many parts are hot, I find my self wanting more during the sex scenes. It's like all the lead up but just not enough, I like it played out more, it is tame in a word.
This part the second in the series shows us more of what Drew was subjected to as a child, the way in which he and Maxine overcome and make strides is touching and heartfelt. You have so many feels during this part of the story. I look forward to the continuation of their love story.

Maxine and Drew continue their relationship getting in deeper with each other. Drew is a Dom and Max is coming along great in her submission, even though she is a “virgin” to BDSM. I found the BDSM bits to be neatly handled.
Some of the voice changes get confusing. They were much better in this second book versus the first one. Great job Juliet.
