This is only my second Daily book but I'll be looking for more. Sky is half Indian and half white. His mother passed at the very young age of 3 and he had never known who his father even was. He was raised by his uncle and had a hard childhood. He ran away in his teens and headed for a land his mother often spoke of in Texas. He is quickly hired on at a ranch called Rimrock and starts a new life. Sky becomes known as the horse whisperer and becomes as close to a family member as possible to the

Talk about romance with an edge of suspense! Dailey has the genre nailed. Romance abounds as readers are drawn deeper and deeper into the fascinating world that she’s created. Yet there’s so much more to the story. A strong plot and seamless narrative combine to present a tale with both substance and heart.

I always enjoy reading Janet Dailey's books, especially the books that are part of a series. Like this book. I was almost thru this book and I found a word that I thought that the character, Sky Fletcher, would never even say. Why, because the word is Yiddish and Sky is 1/2 Comanche indian.
See if you can find the word. Otherwise, I did enjoy the book. But finding the word and him using it, just made me wonder, if Janet wrote the book, she would not have used that word. I am just saying. ...more

Wow, this book has many, many twists and turns. There is murder, romance, family and suspense. There was so much going on, at times I was a little panicky . I could easily relate to all the characters but especially Sky and Lauren. I wish Marie could have been helped, but maybe it was too late to reach her. The only negative, the sex scenes could have been tone down a bit. Janet Dailey has done a good job with this book. I recommend it.
The story of Rose.
The story of Rose tells of the earlier days of Bill Tyler and his son's on the ranch. A good story of early days in Texas and how the Tyler's of Texas managed to live the tough life on their ranch and people who were part of the early days. A very nice story after all the hardship, lies and very tough people. ...more

Fun, fast-paced read with likable characters who sizzle. I wouldn't necessarily say cowboys are my thing, but I enjoyed Sky and his brothers so much that I got the other books in the series to read.

"Texas Tough" was a winner for me! Janet Dailey was one of my favorite authors and I love reading her books. The second in the series, it can be read alone, and all questions in this story are answered. I would recommend that you also read Texas True, the first in the series, if you would like for more details and background on all of the Tylers. Although "Texas Tough" is primarily about Sky and Lauren and their journey to happily ever after, one of the things I really enjoy about this series is

I received a free copy of this book for Netgalley and am giving my honest review. This is the second book in the Tylers of Texas Series and since Janet Daley has passed I believe it will be the last. I would read the first book before reading this book. I really enjoyed this book. It is the story of Lauren Prescott and Skye Fletcher. She is a heiress and he is a horse whisperer. There are so many reasons why she should not fall into his arms again but she needs his help when she falls into a dan

The great state of Texas... a steamy cowboy, and the love of all things country... you find all of these in Texas Tough by Janet Dailey. Good romance is sometimes hard to find and with a writer like Dailey, there is always a little more than just falling in love. I love how she twists some mystery in her stories, and has also some suspense. I Loved Sky and the mystery around his secret past as well as Lauren, who isn't sure she wants to get involved with anyone let alone a cowboy. Great series f

Not only is Sky Fletcher’s family history complicated, it seems his relationship one is also. So, he should know by now to stay far away from Lauren Prescott. Unfortunately, she’s a temptation he finds hard to resist, especially when she’s working for the Tyler family ranch as a book-keeper. But when trouble begins stalking Lauren because of her family connections, Sky will do anything to keep her safe. Read More ...more
This tale is a sequel to Texas True. I love both books and look forward to the third, and likely last, in the series since Ms. Dailey passed last year. This story was about Sky and Lauren, the horse whisperer and the Congressman's daughter. Action and mystery, leaving an opening for the next book, and the story about Tori and Will.
