The adventures of Uncle Scrooge return in these kid-friendly-sized collections. Includes the stories “The Wraith of Gigabeagle,” “Shiver Me Timebers,” “The Duckburg 100,” and more!
So, normally I don't read comics based on cartoons/TV shows (Jem & the Holograms is the only regular exception to that unofficial rule). But it had been a long time since I'd seen Duck Tales and it was a favorite when I was a child, and seeing this on Netgalley made me feel nostalgic. Hey, why the heck not? Overall it was a cute collection; there were a couple in the middle that seemed kind of weird to me (especially for a "kids" comic). But I guess there are only so many ways to make Scrooge seem like a cheapskate before things get downright bizarre. The ending with the parrot (named Doubloon, of course) was funny, but I don't see myself going out of my way to read any more of these comics. Thanks to Netgalley for the review copy!
We live in a golden age of comic-book adaptations of licensed properties. My Little Pony. Adventure Time. Gravity Falls. These are fun comics based on fun TV shows. But even though this volume of Scrooge McDuck was published during the golden age of licensed property comic book adaptations, it’s an old soul born in the previous dark age of comic book adaptations, when all Disney comics—DISNEY COMICS—were inexplicably bad. When I read a comic for kids, I don’t expect a lot, but this I could barely read. DNF.

I was never the biggest Donald Duck and gang fan, but my three year old son LOVES watching 'old school' Donald, Scrooge and the three troublesome nephews.
I only read one of the many comics found within this book to him, but he loved it and he will be requesting the rest for sure.
We will be looking out for more Uncle Scrooge to add to our collection.
'Uncle Scrooge: Pure Viewing Satisfaction' is a really fun collection of Uncle Scrooge stories, and this collection is perfect for all readers.
As usual, Uncle Scrooge is trying to hang on to his money and keep it from the likes of the nasty Beagle Boys. When the Beagle Boys come up with a giant Beagle Boy robot, not even Scrooge's vaults are safe. Scrooge wants to foil this plot, but he'll need the help of his nephew Donald and Huey, Dewey and Louie. In another story, Scrooge's favorite (only?) outfit is in need of repair and something interesting is found inside that leads to the kind of classic Uncle Scrooge I remember reading about as a kid. There are other stories and short gags, and I had a great time reading this book. I've always loved the classic Uncle Scrooge stories, and this feels like it fits right in with those, and it'd be a perfect way to introduce characters to these characters. Very well done.

Uncle Scrooge was never one of my favourite Disney characters, but I always loved reading the comics. I would head down to my Grandfather's Drug Store and borrow a couple of comics for the weekend at their house. This brought back a lot of memories. The book contained 5 stories and they were pure Uncle Scrooge. The comics were well drawn and looked just like they did in the 1960s. The stories were well written and kids will love this.

I grew up reading Disney comic books and I used to love Uncle Scrooge. My favorite was when he would go swimming in his vault every evening before bed.
I decided to give this book a go and see how it was changed in 15 years. I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The stories were just how I remembered them and the illustrations were top-notch! I will be checking out more in this series.

I requested Uncle Scrooge: Pure Viewing Satisfaction from NetGalley because I have fond memories of watching DuckTales as a child. Reading this collection of adventures of Uncle Scrooge, Donald, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie battling the Beagle Boys, Pirates, and the fiendish Flintheart Glomgold brought back happy memories of my childhood.
While Uncle Scrooge: Pure Viewing Satisfaction will never make it onto any top 10 must-read graphic novels list, it’s sure to bring a nostalgic smile to the lips of all of its readers.

Growing up, they would make mickey comic books and I would love the ones Uncle Scrooge was in. His greed for money and what he does to get the money is simply hilarious. This comic really brought that out. The illustrations and adventures of Uncle scrooge were very entertaining. I loved this comic and I would totally recommend it.
I remember reading Disney comics when I was a kid in the 90s. For nostalgia factor, this was an 8/10. Except for two little phrases, I could have been reading a book from my childhood (oh, and the fact that it was an ebook....). Purely fun reading. Nothing spectacular but a very good book. Comes out in a week, you should give it a try!

I used to read Disney comic books when I was a kid and I have a special place in my heart for them. Reading these adventures brought back wonderful memories. Little kids will love them, and grown ups like me who grew up reading these comics won't be able to stop smiling. Fun for the whole family!
As far as nostalgia goes, this was top notch for this Disney Fan. I loved the shenanigans of uncle Scrooge, Huey, Duey, and Louie, and Donald. Scrooge is still a money hungry duck with a big heart. I will say that at times this was a bit cumbersome on my old kindle. i'd like to read this in print with my children.
This was a cute little collection of comics ranging from two pages to much longer storylines. While the focus was on Scrooge McDuck and all of his miserly money saving schemes, most also featured perennial favorites Donald and his three nephews as well!
If you want some fresh comic adventures with Uncle Scrooge, Donald, and the triplets, dive right in. There are giant Beagle Boys, haunted sailing ships and even a few Econ 101 lessons spliced into the fun. Read, relax and enjoy!
Getting ready for comic-con I've been reading a few comics. There are very few that are more fun than Uncle Scrooge. I'm so glad they started them back up again.
