This is my second journey with the writing of J.D. Lexx, first and foremost what comes to mind is WOW! It's erotica with a PHD, I don't think he could write a "cookie cutter" sex scene if he tried. The dynamics of the characters are so incredibly hot and sensual. I love the writing style along with the fact that it's hugely different from what is generally available (meaning you don't have to "dumb down" for a little pre bedtime literary arousal.

This is my second experience with a Lexx Crimson Confession. I read and write enough to know good writing when I see it and I see it here. The sex is tantizling and well told. I loved the descriptions of the orchids. You open this erotica novel looking for some fun and close it with all this wonderful knowledge and gorgeous word pictures of orchids. I also love Lexx's epilogue. He tries to take the taboo out for sex by writing a thoughtful smart epilogue encouraging his readers to be open with t ...more

Is there anything in nature that is more overtly erotic than an orchid in bloom? If there is, I need to know about it!

Christine Bexley grew up at her mother's side in her flower shop, getting to know renowned Orchidologist Dr. Richard Mitchell. She knew at a young age that she was meant to be by his side, his equal and his lover. When he takes her under his wing at 18, naïve and virginal, Christine uses everything in her lithe, young arsenal to try and lure him in, to her constant disappointmen

J.D. Lexx has a unique and seductive writing style which can captivate you with the story.
He brilliantly captured woman’s sensuality by using an anatomy of an orchid. This one part of the story, Richard Mitchell, the orchidologist, guiding his apprentice student, Christina who was being blindfolded during a test to identify the orchid - “At the head of the shaft, he released his grip, allowing my fingertips to wander blindly in exploration along the gentle folds. Perhaps I wanted to show him a

“Be weary of the man who has mastered the orchid’s secrets, because once he masters yours, your body may never again trust one who has not.” ~ J.D. Lexx

Never has a more true statement been uttered. And this is why Dr. Mitchell is truly a Master.

So where do I begin…

Well I guess I start at the beginning. I decided to pick up a new book and new author; one I had never read before. And I am glad I decided to take a chance. You see I am an avid

"The orchid beckons, she calls a siren's song in light and color to bring even the proudest to their knees."

This closes the first paragraph in the Order of the Orchidarion... and that same hypnotic lyrical prose carries through to the final words. Rather than summarize the story I will jump right in to a few things I love about this novella:

Throughout this and every Lexx writing, he indulges your mind with sensory images that you won't want to let go of and at the end, will eventually crave. In

The allure of transformations

I've never read such an evocative, carnal description of an orchid. Not satisfied with mere double entendre, Mr. Lexx, as so much of his work does, adds additional layers to his descriptions. The orchid, not solely as a tempting, beautiful flower, or as the uncanny resemblance of the sexual anatomy of a women, but more, as a description of woman herself, her psyche, her passions and secret desires, and ultimately, her flowering.

The thought occurred that perhaps I'm r

As a reader I took the decision to read JD Lexx's books starting with his short stories first and then finishing with his most recent release Malediction.

He certainly didn't disappoint for the second time . I personally would say NSFW but I guess everyone differs .
As someone who has attended horticultural college and seen an orchid up close and personal I can honestly say I will never look at an orchid in the same way again without being reminded of this steamy seductive tale.

It's a very fast read, most likely a novella? Perhaps smaller. Having said that, I don't think I could have took the intensity for much longer. The story begins in first person from an eighteen year old, Christine's, point of view. She is embarking on a chance of a lifetime to be trained to become an Orchidologist by the very gorgeous Dr. Richard Mitchell.

She spends three years in close proximity to this very sexy and intense man, pushing the boundaries and blurring the lines. Eventually, on he

Classic tale of a young lady with an infatuation for a man twice her age. (Who amongst us can deny having that desire at some point in their youth?) Christine thinks she's the wily one, but can she really pull one over on this older man? Is Richard paying any attention to her, or is he too focused on his flowers to notice.

Comparing women and flowers...inevitable and natural...Lexx uses this to his advantage. His descriptions and comparisons of the two are so mouth-wateringly sensual. The build-

Christine has been in love with Dr. Mitchell as long as she can remember. When she was eighteen she began an apprenticeship working with this world class orchid master. She only knew him as a lonely widower and was determined to break this protective exterior and see what was underneath.

"the girl who once stood powerless at his whim now blossomed from the awkward angles of youth into the curves of a more compelling distraction. All the while, he challenged me to constantly tighten my technique w

This is the second book, I have read from JD Lexx, and yet again, he did not disappoint. JD’s style of writing is addictive. He certainly has a way with words that draws you in. Totally blown away by this book. This is my first experience reading JD Lexx books and he did not disappoint me. Although I admit I found a little bit difficulties because he's using words I've never seen being used by another authors–which means I had to open my dictionary at times and took longer to finish–I enjoyed the whole book thoroughly. I really did. The plot is so fresh, not boring at all, makes you want Richard more in each sentence you've read. But I don't think I will look at orchids ...more

There is an allure in the taboo, a curiosity to see something other than our ‘common’—a desire to investigate secret gardens behind locked gates. J.D.Lexx invites the inquisitive into a world where sensuality is cosseted and coaxed, coddled and carefully manipulated into full bloom while you hover in the humid hothouse air, drawing hushed breath after hushed breath in anticipation. He does not disappoint.

“Glistening and vulnerable she waits, poised to open fully to the right touch, and yet deli

Okay this is my third book by JD and he has a reader for life. I can't begin to put into words how much I enjoy his writing style and the way he crafts and weaves a story. It is done in such a creatively delicious way. The erotic nature of this story without being completely in your face is so refreshing and speaks volumes to JDs talent as an author. This is a short read but a must read!! Amazing!!!

Who knew that parts of a flower could be so hot, sexy and sensual. Be prepared to have BOB at your side as you read because it is THAT hot and will make you all hot and bothered! Another must read by the amazingly talented JD Lexx!

International attorney, award-winning journalist and last of a modest raconteur bloodline, J.D. Lexx has been a storyteller for most of his life and a student of humanity for even longer. Perhaps it’s no wonder that he takes such pleasure in the subtle tease of the written word, in kindling curiosity with every shared tale, then daring the imagination to continue on beyond The End.

“Mitchell often spoke with a philosopher’s heart and the outlook of a poet, imbuing the most banal of passing comments with a seed of deeper meaning. Given enough time and unbroken thought, even a brief lecture on floral morphology might unravel into an existential crisis of sensuality, straining the average mind to the edge of madness and the depraved mind one step beyond. “Why” 0 likes
