This is one of my favorites.

I'm one of those people who buys cookbooks in a fit of inspiration and then deems all the recipes unsuitable for whatever reason (too much work, weird ingredients, unappetizing ingredients, bland food...). I tell you this only so that you realize for me to actually rate a cookbook four stars means that I not only read it, I found stuff to make, actually made it, and *liked* it.

Granted, I certainly haven't made everything in the book, but the things I have tried were consistently flavorful, healthful and uncomplicated, with a minimum of special-order ingredients needed (or the ability to substitute pretty easily).

The salad dressing, the "kitchen sink" lentil soup, and the mustard chicken have all made it into regular rotation in my house.

This is a solid cookbook that I've turned to over and over again.
