It was nice ... I thought the part with "meeting again after over a decade" meant the one who got away theme. But it wasn't as much. Back in college, Derek & Hayden clashed heads and argued a lot, although those arguments could also be considered foreplay (haha!). But they haven't had a chance to act on it until now. Both men were likeable. The earthquake wasn't as disastrous as I thought it would be, but it did make both men stranded at the Alaskan resort.

When a powerful senators son and an environmentalist meet in college sparks flew and not the good kind. Whenever Derek and Haydon were together they argued, then one day things seemed different when Derek agreed to cover a story for the school paper, Then for some unknown reason to Hayden Derek buried the story and their feelings as well..12 years later the sparks are still there.

Derek and Hayden have a history in college of antagonizing each other. Derek is the son of a powerful senator, Hayden is a dedicated environmentalist. When the two are reunited in Alaska at a conference about fracking, things become difficult.
While I did think this was a “second chance” story, it isn’t in a way, since the two had never gotten together in college. They bickered and fought about everything in class but were never together.
The earthquake is sort of in the background here. It’s th

I enjoyed this installment in the series. One of my favorite kinds of stories is enemies-to-lovers, and this delivered on all the high points of the plot device. Derek and Hayden have terrific chemistry, and it's obvious that the "hate" between them is actually not dislike or meanness. They come away from their arguments sharper, and the heat between them is great.

There were a few things that felt a bit cliched at times, such as Hayden's assistant. I really wish she hadn't been part of

derek and haydan has an past after 12 years they end up in Alaska but their past is not past lovers or anything like that more like enemies sort of thing. But There would've been something more if things in the past didn't intervene. now they have this chance to set things right and hope they take it.
