A farmers' market junkie and local food aficionado, Dana worked with Harvard Medical School's Center for Health and the Global Environment to create the Healthy Harvest Food Regional Guides, to educate consumers on purchasing and preparing seasonal foods.
As a practicing Certified Athletic Trainer, Dana provides emergency medicine and rehabilitation services to high school, college and professional athletes. She is also a CPR and First Aid instructor for the American Red Cross.
Dana earned her master's degree in nutrition education from Teachers' College-Columbia University and bachelor's degree from Quinnipiac University in Sports Medicine. She resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with her husband, three children and Boston Terrier, Violet Pickles.
A short and simple book on a plan to get rid of sugar cravings. My downfall! There are 4 different plans for first timers, vegetarians, grain-free-ers, and one that excludes all dairy, greens and legumes. The rest of the book is recipes to get you through the detox. The best thing, in my opinion, is tht it's a 10-day diet and can be repeated every 2 or 3 months to help keep the sugar cravings at bay. If I had any willpower I would do it now, but I'll wait until after the holidays.
It has been a process trying to finish this book because I don’t want to give up sugar even though it’s not healthy. I definitely want to read this book again and when I’m ready I’ll succeed.
So Simple! So easy to read! So easy to use! 10-Day Sugar Detox is a great book to learn to detox your body from the terrible sugars. This book goes through the how's, why's, and even gives you a recipe book to give you really great meals and ladies deserts! You know we love our deserts! Check it out! I really love the smoothies and my favorite so far is, Chocolate Mouse!!!!! Yea man! The author just keeps it very simple and the recipe's are simple and yea some are a bit more complex for those that like that too. I know that detoxing is hard on the body and while I started to detox and decided I am not ready, as I got headaches and such, when I am ready to try again, I plan on using this great resource! I received this in hopes of an honest review. I give 100% to reading and writing my reviews. All opinions are my own.
