E. Latimer Hi there! Fire and Flood (on Wattpad) are just companion books. An actual sequel for Frost will indeed be coming out early next year! :)

I kindly received this ARC From Patchwork Press via Netgalley in return for an honest review.

"I froze the first guy I ever kissed, and I don't mean he got cold feet."

Megan Walker is just a girl from California,
the time of the sun is ever her constant.
Until her aunt and uncle chose to move to some hick town named Grande Prairie in Canada.
That's where everything changed.
Her hair changes to Silver, her eyes to a light blue, her skin becomes as pale as ice.
Megan has no idea what is happening

Thank you, Netgalley, for sending me a copy of this book.

Frost was a very entertaining read for me. I found the whole world interesting because it included some Norse mythology with frost giants and fire giants. These frost and fire giants are at war with each other and our main character, Megan finds herself right in the middle. The story was easy to get into, easy to understand, but yet compelling at the same time. Frost offers something I have read before and I really enjoyed that.

Frost. Magic (or cytokinesis?), romance (between two guys), and one character who is caught up in a war. Of course, that one character is Megan Walker.

What do I think of Frost? Well, Frost is interesting (but not captivating). It starts off with a bang. Megan kisses her then-boyfriend and freezes him accidentally with her powers. From there, a stall follows. But the plot picks up again once Megan gets kidnapped, gets rescued, runs away, becomes a pawn in a nasty

This book was a ridiculous hot mess. The author was trying to make so much go on at once that nothing ever really went on except for some definite questionably bad plot lines.

I'm beyond disappointed and can honestly say that if I had not received a copy of this book in exchange for a review, a I would not have finished it.

Either way, it was almost painful to read this book.

Everyone is talking about how swoony Loki is. I just want to confirm that it is true. And I am an excellent judge of swoon.

Overall, I liked all the characters. Leif is deliciously evil. I loved the strong friendship between Megan and Charlotte. Definitely looking forward to more of them in the sequel :)

Ah, my first Norse mythology book (okay, I have another one by another author, but I'm a little hesitant on reading another of their works...).

For a debut novelist who started the book on Wattpad, Frost isn't that bad of a book. Latimer does a great job with building the world of Jotunheim (there's another name, but that's the easiest I rememb

Frost is a young adult norse mythology book, which kicks off a new series by E. Latimer. (I believe the series will be the same name as the title but I haven't found confirmation of that yet.) You all know how much I love mythology books, and frost is a great take on the Norse tales. I absolutely loved that author E. Latimer took a unique spin on the frost giants, and made them the rulers of the realm. Frost offers wo

Frost is a very promising book about Megan Walker and her power over ice. Upon reading the summary, I knew I wanted to read it, especially with its connection to my favored type of mythology, Norse. In fact, I'm pretty well-versed in the mythology. I couldn't wait to see how it was played in this story.

The first thing I must say about the story was that it had a lot of potential. However, it did not live up to par... (more via website)

This was my first attempt to read a book about Norse giants and the ancient Ragnarok's prophecy (and also my first read of 2020, yay!) and I couldn't have done better than to pick this one in a wintry month such as that of January.
Megan Walker, a simple school going teenager, turns her high-school lover into a Popsicle just by kissing him! Suddenly she starts to dream about blood, gore, battles and death and already overwhelmed with her ice power, she thought it couldn't just get any worse when

Loved this purely for nostalgic reasons.
The original (Wattpad) book got me back into reading in my early teens. I remember sleeping 2 hours over two nights whilst on a family snow trip because I simply could not put this down.

I’ve read several books now that have gotten their start on Wattpad and I think this is the first one that I absolutely loved. Frost tells the story of Megan, a girl who recently moved to Canada with her family after she accidentally froze the first boy that she kissed. Canada is as far temperature-wise from California as you can get, and Megan is worried about how she’ll se

This is one of those books that I read in one day after work, and stayed up until about 1:00 AM finishing. Immediately after I finished this book (at 1:00 AM) I went straight to my computer to check if there was a sequel, because I was willing to stay for the rest of the night reading that one as well. Unfortunately, there is not yet a sequel considering this book was just released (silly me)

This is a good beginning. There is romance but it doesn’t overpower the story. There isn’t angst or love triangles just a fantasy story that has some Norse mythology and a Queen who is off her rocker. I will admit when they entered the ice court I was taken back to Narnia and her court. Her deceptive ways in gaining trust and really truly being mad and evil. Eira is like that. She is going after a group of people for no reason other than to have more. Her court is fearful of her. Servants are tr ...more

This book took me by surprise for three reasons.

One, I thought I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the mythology included in it. Turns out, yes, there is mythology, but there are maybe a dozen terms linked to Norse legends and you probably already heard of some of them so you won’t have to pause for a visit to good old Google that much.

Two, this story includes some very real, very in-our-world issues that I did not expect it to have. I’m talking about bullying and racism. Now, you might be wonder

The beginning of 'Frost' was extremely gripping, because it all played out very quickly - we see Megan's first kiss in the first chapter, then next thing she's upped and moved to Canada to escape from her past. Once attending her new school, she meets a group of girls who are convinced they're related and that they're all part of some government conspiracy against them. Megan knows she's being followed, so is extremely on edge - this is made worse when two men kidnap her in the middle of the nig ...more

Frost doesn't offer a fresh premise/ original plot (I'll come back to that in a moment), but the characters are hilarious and complex. At least, Loki is. The MC, Megan Walker, is quite flat; I couldn't relate to her at all. Not much world building, which was why I knocked off a star. The uneven plot and pacing made me want to DNF the book at times (another reason as to why I knocked a second star). The ending was quite abrupt, and since I was never a fan of cliffhangers, I didn't like it.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I liked the idea of this book, and I even liked some of the execution - the use of genetic memory was a well played card. The problem for me was really with the crafting and details of the story. Frost was an okay read, but it is uneven. The beginning of the book feels awkwardly paced and often rushed. The characters actions are accelerated to get to the answers behind the mystery of their similarities, which re ...more

Megan Walker lives with her aunt and uncle. After she accidently freezes her boyfriend, they pack up and move north. Megan doesn't know what happened or how she did it. At her new high school she finds other girls that look like her. Tall, blonde, lean, and she doesn't know what to make of it.

Quickly she finds a friend in Charlotte. She doesn't want to be part of the clique with the other girls. One night when she's home alone, she's taken. This starts a whirlwind adventure. Megan finds

I received a copy in return for an honest review, so thank you to the Author and Publisher.

In this story we get average seventeen year old Megan finding out she’s not so average, escaping from an attempted kidnapping, finding a parallel dimension with a kingdom of somewhat hostile ice giants (jotuns) and their villainous queen. Not to mention kissing a cute fire jotun, surviving an assassination attempt and finding true friendship.

The opening of the story sucked me in and the ending finished st
The fact that the book was based on norse mythology was just awesome, I always love books where my imagination can wander further that the everyday life. The characters were just really awesome. Megan wasn’t so bad as a lead character although I felt she just needed to suck it up and make a decision on who to trust . I didn’t quite like how she was always so hot and cold (pun intended). I think I liked Loki, I say it this way because there wasn’t enough time spent getting to really know him.

Where do I begin! This book is so freaking good! It has such an interesting and unique plot with amazing characters (the both good and the bad ones). E. A truly beautiful story that takes you on an amazing adventure. I need the sequal!

I am currently reading this book and so far it's good...and it is fun to read it. But at some places it gets a little boring and at some places the book becomes predictable .... like i was knowing what's gonna happen next..although it has it's twist and turns....but till where i have read , according to me it's a pretty good book.
