The Whittingtons #3
The Stranger: A billionaire single dad hate-to-love age-gap romance
I meet a handsome stranger in a private club in Paris where names are optional and inhibitions strongly discouraged.
One unforgettable night. One spectacularly rude goodbye. There’s no reason our paths should ever cross again until…
I find myself with a temporary nanny job and discover my boss is the same arrogant Frenchman.
Lucien du Beaumont is wealthy, widowed, and deeply infuriating. He has an indecent talent for dirty talk and a smolder that should come with a public health warning. And for some reason he seems to think paying my salary entitles him to the last word.
He’s about to be very disappointed.
He gives orders and I give him hell. Until one argument ends with his mouth on mine and we forget falling out and start making up for lost time instead.
We make an arrangement. A few stolen weeks. No promises. No complications. And absolutely no falling in love. But for a girl who’s spent her life trying to be perfect, being wanted by him begins to feel dangerously close to being enough.
Our summer has an expiry date and our arrangement has rules. And when it’s time to say au revoir, will he give me a reason to stay, or one I’ll never forgive?
The Stranger is standalone romance featuring a brooding billionaire and his accidental nanny. It includes age-gap goodness, hate to love and forced proximity tension, as well as family, laughter, love and a lot of ooh-la-la!

Disappointed
I always pick Donna Alam’s books as soon as I see them but I was disappointed with this one. For one it had too many grammatical errors. It was hard to understand who was talking and had to reread to find out. I don’t like to give bad reviews but I suggest that she or whoever edits her books go back and do some revision. She is always a reread for me but not this one.

Manipulative and nauseating.
If this is someone's idea of romance, that someone is being abused.
This entire story gave me the ick. 0/10 do not recommend.

This book was TERRIBLE! Primrose SUCKS! She’s so back and forth and she treats Luc like sh*t! She keeps letting him do stuff to her and then flipping out on him, like it’s his fault! And she’s so stuck on being a prim and proper prude that it all is just a clusterf*ck of nonsense. I really tried. I was at 51% in when I finally called it. I kept holding out because of the great reviews (I have no idea how it got them!). Absolutely awful! If I could give zero stars I would. Such a waste of the limited time I have to read.

I was looking forward to this book. Sadly, it fell short for me. I struggled with the character (mainly looking at you- Primrose) as well as the pacing in the story. Try as I might, I just couldn’t connect with the story.
While this book wasn’t for me- I am sure it will connect with another reader. I appreciate the author and look forward to what she creates next.

Luc and Primrose
Back to the Whittington’s! The youngest has just finished up her doctors degree and is taking the summer off before her job begins. She goes to Paris to travel with her best friend only to find she needs to fill in at her friends job so she won’t lose it while she attends her sick fathers health. Thinking it’s only for a few days she says yes only to find she’ll be working for a man she met partying. So much fun.

Always love Donna's stories, rated 4 stars not because of the storyline or characters, but purely on the proof reading! It was littered with mistakes throughout unfortunately.

This was a great read starring a billionaire widower with two young children and the young woman he has an unexpected and steamy encounter with. As fate would have it, she shows up at his home to fill in as a temporary nanny for her best friend.
I loved Primrose from the beginning! I found her relatable and found myself chuckling quite a bit at some of her interesting word choices or descriptions, even if she only thought them!
Luc was…everything I would have expected from a billionaire widower who’d had multiple attempts at being blackmailed and was fiercely protective of his children and his heart. While I didn’t like everything he did, his heart was mostly in the right place. His actions/decisions in Nice were awful. I understand why he did it, but I just wish that he had realized that he was taking the coward’s way out and how devastatingly hurtful it was to Primrose.
I did love how they finally got their HEA!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Bad Boy Update and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Good but a little flat in the end
I’m not a fan of Luc, not for at least 70% of the story anyway. I think he could have been afforded a less sleazy personality. The story itself is fine, I enjoyed it for the most part, but it felt like a chunk of the first half of the book could have been trimmed and more story could have been added to the last couple of chapters which felt really rushed.
Sylvie is great and Prim is a decent FMC. I’m not mad at how she was manipulated because she didn’t come across as weak or annoying with it.
There are quite a few spelling errors and incorrect words towards the back end of the book and then there’s the timeline between the epilogue and the bonus chapter.
SPOILER…
In the epilogue they’ve been together for 13 months and are getting married the next day but in the bonus chapter they’ve been together for 14 months and he’s only just proposing to her. And the last sentence of the bonus chapter really doesn’t make sense.
Overall it’s a good book, but it could have been so much better.

Primrose has just finished becoming a doctor and goes to see her best friend, but her friend wasn't able to get time off. So, her sister's friend spends time with her, and they end up at a spicy party. She gets lost within the party and ends up in a section that racier than the others and just as she is about to leave a stranger stops her. They share a heat moment and don't expect to see each other again. However, when her friend needs help Primrose is there for her. Primrose fills in as a nanny, and this has her running back into her mysterious stranger. Will things get even more complicated? Can this turn into something more?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first pages. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

What fun, this book will keep you laughing and wanting more! After finishing medical school, Primrose takes a break and visits Paris with her best friend.
She was tricked into going to a sex club and that's where she met Luc. Their chemistry was off the charts but their parting was explosive as he had flashbacks of his late wife. Things get interesting when her friend begs her to fill in for her at her nanny job so she can care for her sick father. Things get interesting when she realizes that her friend's boss is Luc. No spoiler here, but things get interesting and it's a sweet love story with an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via Bad Boy Updates and voluntarily chose to write a review.

This story drew my attention after reading a snippet about him taking her to a smex club to show him how much she loves him.
This story was very long, windy and not so straight forward which made some parts drag on.
Primrose was not the most likeable FMC, I recognise her struggles as a teenager, but the adult version of her was all over the place, nothing added up and she was rather nasty to Luc- like sorry- he was a great character, and his development was a lot considering the crap Prim put him through, she was a bit of a wet rag.
The kids were a nice touch to this story as well.
Quite a few grammatical errors in spelling which was slightly annoying but I understood what was being meant/ said.

3.5 Stars
This book featured Primrose and Luc. These two meet under some interesting circumstances. A short time later, they meet again under completely different circumstances. The attraction is sizzling HOT but the age difference and being a widower holds him back. Eventually she’s willing to have a summer fling but you know how that goes. Someone catches feelings and it ruins EVERYTHING…or does it?
I have mixed feelings about this book. The beginning started out great. A short time into it, the filler story took over and it became very difficult to stay engaged. The entire middle of the story was completely filled with nothing but filler story. Nothing of much substance at all. Then, the last few chapters sucked me back in and then it was over.

I would have been happier if Primrose had walked away forever.
I only liked the children, especially Sylvie.
Luc's a template repressed billionaire widower and Primrose is the vacuous posh twit coerced into spending a month as the nanny to Luc's children at his estate in the Balearic islands.
There is some chemistry between the main pair yet it's all rather predictable with the lust, denial of insta love and Luc doing something reprehensible to try and make Primrose see they can't be together and then wallow in regret, a performative grand gesture by disrespecting her boundaries and turning up at her place of work, sends a few bouquets and Primrose folds like a cheap suit after misplacing her spine.
Pretty blah.

One of the best books I read this year that was funny and had a love story.
The relationship between Luc and Primrose, what can I say besides it was epic.
This man a widower with 2 children blackmailed Primrose into been a nanny for a month.
Thereafter she go back to London to take up a doc post.
Primrose uses funny words to describe him and what she would do to him.
Having lost his wife who he loved, he could not go tru loss again.
But he fall for Primrose and as much as he loves her he afraid to hold her back from her profession.
If you looking for a good love story with humor this is the one.

Nanny and Billionaire and Much Hilarity for a Serious Romance
A young doctor from London takes on a position as a nanny, in Paris, for her best friend. The father turns out to be a billionaire widower she met the night before in a sex club. He keeps her on to “punish” her as he has trouble keeping nannies on staff due to billionaire status. He runs towards alpha hole, and she is refreshingly strong and stands up for herself. It was hard to see how they could work out a relationship, but one wants to root them on, anyway. There were so many hilarious lines in the banter, and with the children. Just the humor makes the book worth reading, but note it is not a rom-com.

Great story
LUC & PRIMROSE’S story cover her lack of self worth and his plausible deniability. Primrose was tricked into attending a sex club and met Luc for the first time. He turned her on and then kicked her out. When Emmy, her best friend begged for her assistance, she reluctantly said yes. What a shock to find out that she was the nanny to Luc's 2 children. Lucien decides to blackmail Primrose to join him, Felix and Sylvie to spend a month in Mallorca. He spends a long time trying to accept him and his sexual overtunes, but when she finally succumbs he backs off.

This story has a lot going on. Primrose comes to Paris goes to a sex club where she meets Luc and it doesn't end well between them. So imagine her surprise when she goes for the nanny job to save her friend and he is the one in need. The connection starts their path and what a journey it is between the banter and antics I couldn't help but sheer this unlikely couple on to finding their way to happiness. It is a great story with wonderful characters I loved reading about.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

This is an off limits, billionaire romance between Luc and his temporary nanny, Primrose. These flawed but likeable characters and the unique plot make for an interesting read. What starts out as a one night stand turns into something more. It is a love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters. Quite a page turner.

Primrose Whittibgton’s Story
Luc a single father who is devastated by the loss of his wife but doesn’t want to go through any further loss so keeps his heart behind a padlock. Primrose, a recently qualified doctor is supposed to be spending the summer with her bestie before she starts a new job. However she manages to find herself spending the summer as a stand in ‘Nanny’ for Luc and that is where the fun begins. Lots of laughs and innuendo’s as always with Donna Alam’s books, I find myself smiling when I’m reading. Love it.

This book is good, I really like the story. But the grammatical errors... Oh Gosh ! I can't !
I honestly can't understand how can there be so many errors. My first language is French and even I saw the errors in English. But those in French... I love Donna Alam's book and I'm pretty sure that she asked someone to revised her texts in French. This person did a poor job. I am at 87% and I will finish but I am disappointed. What could have been an amazing book is just average and it's not the fault of the story for me, only the errors in the book.

French Sweets
Filthy French. Broken hearts. Found family. And a man who finally learns that love means building a life WITH someone.
So excited when Luc talks dirty in French, then devastated when he broke mine and Primroses heart, in two languages.
He started making decisions about Primroses future without consulting her. Rude. Devastating.
Kitchen benches, nightclub mirrors and an exclusive sex club, keep this a very interesting read. If you into billionaire, single-dad and an age gap this will not disappoint.
Another great book by Donna Alam.

Idk how I feel about it.
I felt there wasn’t a lot of romance between them after the initial meeting.
Don’t get me started on the whole sister in law thing because why would you let your dead wife’s sister practically climb you like a tree in front of your new girlfriend, like??? That whole thing was just strange. Idc if she prefers women, it was still weird for him to just let her do all that, regardless of the fact he didn’t want her to know he was seeing the ‘nanny’.
THEN he took her to another sex club and practically (indirectly) forced her to get into bed with another man. This was after she told him about previously being pinned by some boys in school and forced to watch sexual things. Like??? Where was the logic.
LASTLY, there was no grovel at all. Yes he sent her flowers for 3 weeks after appearing at the hospital, but there were no more appearances after that. I personally think hand written cards aren’t enough , I need in person meetings to show effort and that he’s actually trying. And their last meeting it ends with an epilogue where they’ve been together for 13 months and are due to get married. I can’t get on board with that because there was no redemption.

Loved this!
The hate-to-love tension in this book is elite. The constant banter between the leads is easily a highlight, boiling over from workplace annoyance into total passion. But what really stole my heart were the kids. They brought so much joy and sweetness to the story. He works hard to win her back, and it is so incredibly satisfying. The perfect blend of heartfelt emotion and high-steam romance!

Outstanding!
Donna Alam does it again. It’s an amazing must read. Unfortunately it was so good I read it in one go and now it’s gone but boy what a compelling steamy hot, hilarious and emotional journey full of characters you feel you know as they are so well written and are all so charismatic with the odd exception.
Can’t wait for your next book, Donna.

I fell in love with her sassy, yet naive personality in this fun, engaging and filled with loads of chemistry story. The immediate attraction between them set the tone for this entertaining drama. The scenes were enjoyable to read showcasing their clashing personalities while finding the line between will they won’t they and straddling it perfectly. A very enjoyable read.

I really love Donna's style of writing and needless to say I loved her latest book as well. I particularly liked the banter - between the FMC and the MMC as well as his children. The children in particular were sooo funny - especially the Virgin discussion - lol!!! The spice, as ever with Donna, is second to none.

Fabulous read - loved it
A Donna Alam book hits my recommendations and I have to get it. Bought it yesterday, read overnight. Loved, loved, love it. The characters, the repartee, the asides, the story-line - really enjoyed the book. It was well worth sneaking it to the top of my TBR pile. Will wait (not so patiently) for the next Donna Alam book.

I Love How Donna Crafted This Love Story!
I really enjoyed this book! Although it was the familiar billionaire/nanny trope, the story was unique and funny, and I love how she developed the main characters, showing their personalities and inner thoughts so well. Nothing formulaic about this book!
